Pillar of Yita

Then he spoke softly and said, ”My sister is not as bad as you say, Tang De.”

”...Ah, are you talking about Miss Elisa?”

Elisa calmly picked up a teacup, lowered her head, and pretended to take a sip from the rim.

The sorcerer-ghoul tapped his cane with his knuckle, creating a hollow sound: ”While that’s true, Miss Elisa is far inferior to my sister, Kalatu. Our families’ matters aren’t over yet—”

”The history between the Ailin Green Family and the Grossel Family is in the past,” the middle-aged man replied. ”You can call me Ailin Green or any other name as you wish. Let bygones be buried beneath the dust—”

Fang Hong listened to the conversation, his gaze drifting between the two.

He looked at others in the room, then turned back and hesitantly asked, ”Mr. Tang De’s sister is...?”

”Cris Aylingelan.”

The middle-aged man turned back to him and answered.

Fang Hong felt a sense of understanding flash through his mind, thinking, as expected.

This sorcerer-ghoul, is the elder brother of Tantance Lohnspell, and above these two, there was an elder sister. When Cris Rogersel married into the Southern Region, Tantance was only seven. It’s unknown how old Tang De Rogersel was, hidden behind the veil of history.

And Tang De was correcting Kalatu’s words, word by word:

”It’s Cris Rogersel.”

Kalatu remained silent.

He only said to Fang Hong, ”After Lady Cris Rogersel went to the Ailin Green Family, you should know what transpired. After that event, Tang De has been persistent, vowing to find the whereabouts of the murderer. Coincidentally, I’m also investigating this matter.”

”Easily said,” Tang De said sarcastically—though it’s strange to hear sarcasm from a skeleton: ”What you’re really concerned about is the Dark Giant Dragon’s resurgence in Idus, and your old friend—Yoshude’s request. Have you ever truly cared about my sister’s death?”

Kalatu turned back and replied, ”However, these two matters are connected, Eve is your sister’s daughter.”

Tang De opened his mouth but then closed it again.

Kalatu continued, ”After Nikopolas returned to Colin Ishurian, he infiltrated the Kingdom’s upper echelons using the name of Duchess Chatti, and used spells to control the Colin King at the time. It was Tang De who discovered the altered Alte beside Nikopolas, and secretly returned to Roante, informing me, Aiertaute, Haggston, and Yoshude.”

”So after that, the legendary battle occurred—”

Upon hearing this, Fang Hong finally understood the intricate and complex relations behind the events of those years.

Tang De, however, tapped his cane, speaking with pride: ”Chatti was once an obscure fiefdom granted to my ancestors, after the Ancient Monarch Hunter era, it had long become a wasteland. If it weren’t for the ancient family documents, I wouldn’t have discovered anything odd—Maryland that guy, would know the Rogsel Family even better than I do, but he too didn’t expect such a past event recorded in the family documents.”

”Wait, Maryland?” Fang Hong’s memory flickered.

Could it be that the timing is a bit off?

”It’s not as you think, the son of Tantance,” Kalatu’s eyes flashed with wisdom, as if seeing through his thoughts: ”That was Tantance’s great-grandfather, Tantance named his eldest son Maryland after this distinguished ancestor.”

”That fool.” Tang De continued to tap his cane, adding another sentence.

Kalatu went on to say, ”He was also Alte, or Count Westwood Sibika—the original owner of the Wanderer, as you believed. He was the most famous head of household during the Roges family’s revival era, a rare legend in the Kingdom’s noble circles. Of course, few knew about his second identity, the Wanderer, the mastermind behind the Dragon’s Witch incident.”

Hearing this, Fang Hong couldn’t help but open his mouth slightly. He had considered the possibility but didn’t expect the Wanderer’s identity to be nearly a century earlier than he thought—that’s almost two hundred years of history, hidden along the long, cold coastline of Scepter Coast.

However, the third name on the journal finally surfaced.

”After that, Yoshude and I secretly returned to Golande, of course, there were many preparations before the final battle, not as coincidental and legendary as the world believes,” the Archmage narrated the events of those years as if talking about yesterday: ”In fact, we first united many noble families, and after privately ensuring everything was planned thoroughly, we chose to confront the unsuspecting Alte.”

”Since he was completely unaware that his identity would be exposed, and since both Yoshude and I had already returned covertly to the Royal City, he ultimately faced defeat,” Kalatu said: ”Yet the rumors also contain truth, Yoshude indeed couldn’t bear to kill Eve at that time.”

”Yoshude, that coward, could actually be called a hero—”

The sorcerer-ghoul was furious in tone.

For this, I parted ways with him. During that time, rumors outside said I contracted a sudden illness, but in fact, I was investigating the whereabouts of Alte and the Dragon’s Golden Eyes. Unexpectedly, Yoshude was too familiar with me, so he took the Dragon’s Golden Eyes early on without informing me.
