Pillar of Yita

At this moment, a row of firelight flashed in the distance, and he instinctively shrank his head. The rain-like projectiles made the stone chips on the high wall dance. Then, Sicape gave him a karate chop on the back of his head and said angrily, ”What are you daydreaming about, kid?”

Fang Hong turned his head back a bit innocently. Although he knew all of this was just an illusion, he still felt a bit nostalgic. He thought for a moment and habitually scratched his head, ”I’m just a bit nervous, Miss Sicape, since it’s my first time participating in combat.”

He had already experienced countless battles, yet he pretended to be a rookie.

Because Fang Hong knew that the Hall of a Thousand Doors wouldn’t give him such a scene for no reason, the mission must be hidden within this scene, and he had to push the ’storyline’ forward.

Sicape glanced at him and wasn’t too surprised, ”You were so excited earlier. Here, take this and jump down first.” Fang Hong looked at the backpack in Miss Sicape’s hand. He still remembered it well; this glider backpack was something he carried with him even now, occasionally still using it once or twice.

To reminisce about the journey with the Morning Dawn Star—

Sicape always felt he was a bit odd but didn’t think too much about it, just said, ”Put it on quickly.”

Members of the Morning Dawn Star on the high wall were fighting back, the Elementalist threw the crystal in his hand, turning it into a mist of ice. Everything seemed exactly the same as it was then, with no changes. Fang Hong looked around, recognizing most of the people engaged in combat.

But the few he didn’t remember well seemed even more unfamiliar now, as if they were unknown passersby he had seen somewhere.

Not far away, Kroid was among the crowd, wielding a Great Sword with impervious swings, with a flame occasionally flashing across the blade.

...

”The first Red Gate is quite troublesome,” Loofah continued to describe on the Communication Light Page, ”It’s not very friendly for ordinary Alchemists, for Combat Artisans either. Many ordinary Alchemists have not experienced that scene, while Combat Artisans mostly do not partake in production—”

”This level might be somewhat friendlier to Alchemists who have experience with Siege Artisans and War Artisans from traveling with Mercenary Corps,” she replied, ”but I didn’t have such experience, and barely passed this level when I was a newbie.”

She habitually expressed her thoughts in text rather than speech, and there were very few people who had actually heard her voice. Nether could almost imagine the little girl tapping away on a virtual keyboard.

But Nether was a bit suspicious of how leisurely this little girl was: ”... what exactly are you doing now?”

”I’m on vacation.”

”Why are you on vacation again?”

Nether’s head grew a size larger, thinking this girl whom everyone pinned high hopes on was somewhat miscast—because this troublesome girl seemed to spend over 170 days out of the year on vacation.

Is there a normal Invoker, especially a top Invoker, like her? Even the previous chairman of the Rose Cross Army mentioned more than once that if she were just a bit more diligent, she would probably already be a strong contender for the Craftsman throne.

Instead of now occasionally even losing to Nether in competitions, which left Nether feeling annoyed with this half-baked student.

But this little girl had a likable nature, preventing any anger or blame.

But Fang Hong was different.

Teaching him was a headache; a casual slap was common. That little guy sometimes stunned with brilliance but other times was so dull that she couldn’t resist wanting to kick him to death—just to spare herself the irritation.

Loofah sent over a smiling expression.

Nether rubbed her forehead, thought about it, and decided not to waste effort, questioning, ”What about now?”

”Sister Nether is asking if I go through that level now?”

Nether nodded.

”Of course, it would be a piece of cake,” Loofah typed, ”Even though I’m on vacation, I’m not idle, and I’ve already mastered that skill.”

”You mean...?”

Loofah sent a gesture for victory expression over.

”Troublesome girl.”

Nether paused, realizing she still couldn’t be angry.

But she still intended to remind her that the selection for the top league would start later this year, and there would be a new change in the position of the Ten Kings. As the only hope for the national division, she naturally hoped that her half-baked student would push a little harder.

But Loofah was very adept—Next moment, Nether watched her Communication Crystal dimming—she was angry enough to stomp her foot heavily, wanting to send another message, but realized the other party had already turned off the communicator.

This charming Queen gritted her teeth, raised her head at the floating clouds in the sky, but found some peace in her heart.

No matter what, that little girl was going further and further—and even on the path of an Artisan, she started to surpass her...

But she couldn’t help but wonder, what about that boy—without mastering those skills from the Second World, would he run into trouble?

The sky’s clouds changed endlessly, just like the thoughts in Nether’s heart at this moment. In her era, there was no such chance to enter the Hall of a Thousand Doors. The God Slayer group she was in was just an unknown small guild before she became famous.

It was thanks to the help given by the previous generation of the Ten Kings of the Rose Cross Army that she achieved what she has today.

But no matter what, not being able to enter the Hall of a Thousand Doors was the greatest regret of her Invoker career.
