Pillar of Yita

But he couldn’t help but think of Mr. Kroid for a moment, ’A real man drinks.’ The other party had said something similar, but this time, there was no Miss Sicape to rescue him.

He glanced at the glass, then at the Great Sword behind the other person, feeling a bit helpless, he could only raise the glass and take a small sip, the taste had a faint fragrance.

It seemed a little better than he imagined.

At first, he was a bit stunned.

And when Odin saw his cautious demeanor, he couldn’t help but shake his head: ”Kid.” He muttered, then picked up his glass and drank it all in one go.

Seeing this, Fang Hong got a bit heated—it’s just alcohol, after all, he didn’t find it to be a big deal—he was already seventeen, not exactly a kid. After hesitating just a little, Fang Hong picked up his glass and swallowed a big gulp, then immediately put the glass down, intending to show off to the other person.

But right at that moment, he suddenly widened his eyes, the Elf Qinjiu which earlier was refreshing and had a mellow taste, suddenly showed its fierce side.

It was like a scorching hot lava sliding down his throat, the fiery sensation made Fang Hong almost jump three feet high off the bar stool. He opened his mouth wide, unable to utter a single note for a moment, only to cough loudly.

He coughed till tears and snot ran down his face, almost rolling all over the floor.

Odin put down his glass, now somewhat interestedly watching this reckless guy, saying that showing off won’t get you killed, young people just don’t get this principle.

He couldn’t help but shake his head again: ”Kid.”

Fang Hong wanted to retort, but everything around him began to spin, he only felt top-heavy and then collapsed. It was Odin’s turn to be slightly startled, if Miss Sicape were here, she would have clutched her forehead and shaken her head—it’s a pity nobody told this King of Warriors, that’s why she didn’t let Mr. Kroid teach this fool to drink.

Because this guy just drank the ’Water of Life’ once, then slept for a day and two nights, and he obviously had no idea how much he could hold his liquor.

The Elf behind the bar glanced at Fang Hong, then came out from behind, propped him up against the bar, and then looked up at Odin and shook his head: ”Mr. Odin, your friend here should really drink less.”

Odin didn’t seem surprised that the other party recognized him, just nodded with deep agreement.

He had seen people who couldn’t drink, but this was the first one to pass out after just a sip.

...

In a daze, Fang Hong felt like his head had been split open with a knife.

He woke up with a splitting headache, subconsciously wanting to find water to drink, but paused as he realized he was no longer in the previous hall—instead, he was in a different room.

A bed, with sheets that had a faint fragrance, this place felt like the inside of a treehouse, Fang Hong could even see the natural wood grain on one side of the wall. There was an arched window by the bed, sunlight streaming in through stained glass.

Making the room feel slightly warm.

It still seemed to be afternoon outside, it looked like he hadn’t slept too long, he reached out to grope around, finding a pitcher and cup by the bed, seemingly placed there on purpose. Fang Hong was parched, couldn’t care less about using the cup, just grabbed the pitcher and drank a big gulp.

Then he finally let out a refreshing sigh.

Only at this moment did Fang Hong feel alive, though his head still felt a bit woozy, at least it was better than feeling like he was dying earlier. He then collected himself, intending to observe the surroundings.

And just at that moment, he heard low voices conversing outside the door.

The first voice that spoke, he didn’t recognize, it was gentle, soft—but very neutral, it was hard to tell if it was a man or woman’s voice: ”You brought back the Mithril Leaf, this is the second time, and the last time.”

The voice paused: ”So are you really planning to use it this way, are you sure?”

The second voice sounded, this voice Fang Hong was very familiar with—it’s the reply of the King of Warriors, Odin: ”The Master of Nevade, Tower Guard, Honorable King of the Eastern Realm, of course, I’m sure.”

”—I heard you brought a little guy?”

Odin didn’t answer, but Fang Hong could imagine the other party nodding.

The first voice asked: ”Is he inside?”

”He drank a little yesterday and has been sleeping till now.”

Fang Hong was startled: ”Wait, yesterday??” What the heck, did he sleep for another day and night? But right then, the two people outside continued their conversation: ”So what is your request, Odin?”

”Master of Nevade, I hope you will open the Hall of Thousand Doors again.”

”Hall of Thousand Doors?” The voice paused: ”Him?”

”Trust me, he’s qualified.”

”Alright,” the first voice answered: ”I trust your judgment, besides I have no real desire to interfere in you humans’ affairs—just for the sake of this leaf, I will agree with you again.”

Just then, the door was pushed open.

For some reason, Fang Hong suddenly felt guilty, hurriedly laid back on the bed, afraid of being caught eavesdropping.

But just as he closed his eyes, he heard a voice—Odin’s voice: ”Don’t pretend.” The King of Warriors said: ”If you drink water any louder, the whole inn will hear you.”

Fang Hong then opened his eyes, face turning red, the other party was exaggerating of course, he realized now, in front of a warrior over level fifty, thinking a door would block his perception was too naive.

He had just opened his eyes and saw the person behind Odin.

And Fang Hong couldn’t help but be slightly stunned, what kind of person was this—
