Pillar of Yita

And this gap becomes increasingly pronounced as the level rises—

If Sister Nether asked about speed, Fang Hong could only give this answer naturally.

But Nether did not ask him for the answer, she just continued: ”The speed of a normal Energy Angel is 117, mine is 124, yours is slightly inferior, but the difference is negligible. Your attack power is approximately 140, while mine is 10% higher than yours; as for defense and core output, there’s no difference—perhaps a normal Energy Angel performs better in overload, but mine excels in temperature control...”

She paused: ”This is roughly the difference between the constructs of the two of us; overall, there is virtually no difference. It’s just that my construct is more suited to my own style, so now I ask you this question.”

”With speeds of 117 and 124, how big do you think the difference is?”

How big is the 7-point speed difference?

Fang Hong quickly gave the answer in his heart, and the answer was that there is virtually no difference. If it were 7 and 14, the difference would be double, but on the base value of 117 and 124, a 7-point speed difference wouldn’t determine too much.

Nether saw his expression and knew he already had an answer. But the Construct Queen didn’t ask if it was right or wrong, she just raised her hand slightly, and the silver swordsman floating in the air landed, thrusting a shining silver sword towards Fang Hong.

Fang Hong was shocked, quickly ordering the Energy Angel to rescue.

But Nether’s eyes flashed and she spoke first: ”Energy Angel’s evasion value is 377, balance 52, under extreme control, the turning rate is almost constant, you should be clear about that time—and Ade, how long will it take for him to retreat in a straight line?”

Fang Hong was stunned.

Nether pointed with her hand: ”There seem to be many possibilities, but the optimal solution is always fixed.”

The direction she pointed—Energy Angel was just arriving at that point, although there was a difference in starting positions, the silver swordsman arrived first and reached the position ahead of the Energy Angel, and diagonally thrust the longsword in hand.

The bright blade was like a narrow slice of light.

Fang Hong felt extremely uncomfortable, clearly both sides had roughly the same speed, and in his proactive attempt, the opponent still seized the initiative. It felt as if he had queued all night long, only to find someone had cut in front of him.

It left him almost spitting blood.

But he was helpless, he could only order the Energy Angel to raise the sword to block—

A spark flashed, the clash of swords made a sound that was spine-tingling.

The construct’s speed had reached its limit, as two silver afterimages seemed to flicker on the platform, with speckles of golden stars landing. And the two Alchemists stood still, silently inputting the calculated figures into the control gloves.

The scene looked extremely bizarre between motion and stillness.

But the situation was clearly one-sided; at this level of combat, losing the initiative meant losing everything. After a couple of sword exchanges, Fang Hong realized he was progressively falling behind, and he gritted his teeth, wanting to counterattack.

Yet after a blink, Fang Hong found himself stiffened—Nether’s silver swordsman remained in front of him, with their relative positions almost unchanged.

He paused for a moment, then looked up at the Construct Queen.

He felt a bit dazed, even more frustrated than when fighting Odin. Because Nether wasn’t suppressing him with level, nor using any advanced construct; her modified silver swordsman was actually on par with the Energy Angel.

Yet he lost without any suspense.

Fang Hong felt a bit wooden: ”Sister Nether, I lost.”

”Losing to me is quite normal,” Nether said, laughing softly, unconcerned: ”After all, I am the queen of this domain; even little Loofah loses to me occasionally... No rush, take a good think about why you lost?”

Why did he lose?

Actually, it was somewhat similar to when he faced Odin, because each time he fell in hindsight.

But why was it so? He couldn’t help but recall something Nether had said before, indeed it was speed—the opponent’s offensive was like a storm, but it gave him only one feeling, which was speed, fast to where he almost couldn’t think, and couldn’t react.

After a round of aggressive attacks, he was consistently led upfront, and then lost without any suspense.

But is there really such a big difference between a speed of 117 and 124? Suddenly a flash of insight crossed Fang Hong’s mind; he raised his head, looking at the opponent—Nether looked at his expression and knew he had figured it out, feeling slightly surprised.

Did he realize it so quickly?

”What did you think of?” she asked.

”It’s simplicity,” Fang Hong gave an answer in his heart. Speed is not merely speed, as there are also intention and reaction times; therefore, the same speed of Energy Angels, under different people’s hands, leads to decisively different action strategies.

And such differences only lead to speed discrepancies.

But the fastest speed can only come from the simplest strategy.

The optimal solution is singular—

Mastered information will make it easier for people to find this solution, so when both sides have only one solution, whoever finds this point first gains the upper hand.

”Simplicity is speed.” Nether looked at the young man with some appreciation, nodding slightly: ”This is also the core principle of Swift Tactics; mastered information merely provides more accurate judgment.”

”But indulging in information instead leads to disadvantage.”

”When you meet the King of Grey, then you’ll understand the true meaning within.” She couldn’t help but sigh softly.

She was merely a step away from the Ten Kings, yet it was this step that determined the gap between them.
