Pillar of Yita

Nether turned to watch Odin leave, then turned back around.

She touched the pointed horns atop her head, walked to Fang Hong’s side, her eyes filled with playful mischief. Fang Hong was so startled that he quickly took two steps back, and she then gave a meaningful smile: ”So this is what you look like, little one. Not as handsome as I imagined, but quite cute —”

As she spoke, she circled Fang Hong once, sizing him up: ”How about it, want to join the God Slayer?”

What’s up with these big shots, why do they always start with this question? Fang Hong thought as he shook his head.

”Really not joining?”

He nodded slightly.

”How could it be, am I really so unappealing? ” Nether looked curiously at herself, ”Or do you prefer that guy’s type?” She glanced towards the direction Odin left.

”???”

”I really hit the mark?”

Fang Hong declared firmly: ”Absolutely not.”

”Are you sure?”

Fang Hong was about to cry. He knew very well that this Construct Queen, who looked mature and aloof, was actually a legendary gossip player, renowned in the community as a human repeater and self-propelled radio.

But Nether suddenly giggled, covering her mouth with her hand, and looked at him with her slender eyes: ”Don’t worry, just kidding. Odin is so dull, how could he be more charming than sister? But your reaction was really interesting, by the way, what’s your name?”

Fang Hong finally breathed a sigh of relief, and answered timidly:

”Ade.”

”I’m Nether, you knew that, right?”

Fang Hong glanced at the Construct Queen and nodded.

”So let’s greet each other first, Ade,” Nether said as she took a step back and looked at him, the smile on her face gradually fading. She got serious and went straight to the point: ”I only have one day, but one day is not enough to tell you too much, so I have to keep it short. And I’m someone who always takes things seriously, I don’t like wasting time—you should’ve learned a bit?”

Fang Hong nodded again, it was no secret about this Construct Queen’s personality, birthday, and preferences on the community. There’s nothing to be done, for stardom, clubs would share these things with fans, and as a top guild Chosen, there’s hardly any freedom.

That’s also why he prefers to be a Free Summoner—like Madam Loofah, she seems very mysterious to people, completely unlike her mentor, the Construct Queen.

But Nether was no longer interested in these matters, she simply said: ”Actions speak louder than words, all training eventually needs to be applied in combat, last time I told you enough, this time we’ll resolve problems through combat—”

She stretched out her right hand, ”Prepare yourself.” In the faint azure light, a slender construct figure was emerging, a silver swordsman suspended in mid-air, ”I have an Energy Angel too.” Nether said, ”But this one has been personally modified by me, you’d better be careful.”

Fang Hong finally realized, he took a deep breath and glanced at the silver swordsman, nodding. He looked back, the Energy Angel knocked away by Odin was still not repaired, he hurriedly stroked the black crystal on his chest to release another Energy Angel.

Nether calmly looked at the Energy Angel, not rushing to attack, but asked first: ”Remember what I taught you last time?”

”I remember, Lady Nether,” Fang Hong replied. How could he forget the Swift Tactics? When at Fenris underground, it was not his first time encountering related skills, those were things he reviewed countless times on the community—

Just recently, he had reviewed them again. Later, when assisting Ye Hua in combat at Dulun, he applied the insights gained at that time.

Nether glared at him: ”Call me sister.”

Fang Hong’s face reddened: ”Nether, Sister Nether.”

Nether was finally satisfied, nodded, and continued: ”Last time I told you, the essence of Swift Tactics is knowing yourself and your enemy, mastering information to make a preemptive strike. What does swift mean? It means to strike first.”

But she paused slightly: ”But back then there was too little time, and I didn’t get to tell you the core of this tactic—what is speed?”

What is speed?

Speed in Eteliria is a straightforward attribute.

The speed of an adult human in Eteliria is 27-35, this is the basic speed of humans, not unlike ordinary people on Earth. And when he reached level fifteen, his speed was 42, only slightly faster than an average person.

For instance, a typical adult’s 100 meters speed is between thirteen to sixteen seconds, and he can run within twelve seconds, which is still not as fast as top athletes on Earth. However, the Alchemist is not inherently suited for physical fitness.

This speed is also two-thirds of his ’Sword Hong’ construct speed, and half of the ’Screeching Banshee’, and one-third of the Energy Angel.

The speed of the Energy Angel is 117.

At the highest levels, it matches the Agility System Profession.

However, with top-tier equipment, the Agility System Profession can exceed this level even further.

Though straight-line speed is only part of the speed attribute, it is also related to burst strength. In practice, the speed of an Energy Angel won’t surpass him threefold, but roughly corresponds to around double.

To be accurate, it is only about seventy percent more. This means, a top Nightingale around level sixteen can achieve a 100 meters speed in eight seconds, enough to leave Earth’s first Flying Man far behind.
