Pillar of Yita

Speed: 184, Strength Rating: D-

Fast?

Top level for level 15, but that’s about it. The military isn’t short of talents, let alone the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the top guilds in the hall. Here, third-tiers can only stand aside, while the average level in this hall belongs to the fourth-tiers, fifth-tiers, and even Dragon Knights.

But this sword strike was very fast in everyone’s eyes, no other way to describe it, just impressively fast.

On the big screen, the Energy Angel weaved through two Attendant Warriors, taking the initiative to cut into one of the Night Lizards’ left hemisphere. The latter turned trying to evade, but reflexively shifted its weight backward. The Angel preempted its position, and at this moment, the Night Lizard seemed to make a fatal rookie mistake in the eyes of the onlookers.

It actually misjudged the Angel’s position and was half a beat slow when it turned, and as the Angel raised its blade to stab from the left, it looked like the Night Lizard backed into the blade on its own.

Impaled through and through.

Then, they passed by each other.

The Night Lizard collapsed like a punctured balloon, blood pooled on the ground, unmistakably dead—this all happened in the blink of an eye, so fast that it was hard to believe. So fast that even the other Night Lizard hadn’t reacted yet, only feeling an afterimage as the Angel whisked between them, taking a life with it.

A brief silence fell in the hall.

The eyes of everyone from the military couldn’t even catch up with Fang Hong’s Energy Angel’s speed. Fang Hong led his Flexible Construct to rush forward without caring for the peripheral Attendant Warriors, coming face to face with the Lizard Warrior Leader.

The two remaining Attendant Warriors by the leader lunged, but the Angel’s Blade Feet scratched the wall, leaping over them with a 360-degree turn.

”Damn!”

Everyone in the hall held back a curse they couldn’t express.

Balancing in midair.

Those who could manipulate a Flexible Construct as if it were an art do exist in the Second World, but they weren’t numerous. Even Sister Nether herself was often criticized for her handling details of the Flexible Construct.

But she didn’t care at all.

She only pursued speed.

Speed unbroken.

That was enough.

But what people were seeing now was not just speed, but smoothness as if the Flexible Construct had come to life—the ancient profession of Combat Artisan had been repeatedly questioned since its inception: Is it meaningful to concentrate the limited calculative power on these unnecessary decorative movements?

There’s no definitive answer to that question.

For some, it was meaningful, for others, perhaps not.

But at this moment, everyone understood that it might have some meaning.

In Fang Hong’s hands, the Energy Angel appeared like a phantom, leaping right over the heads of two Night Lizards and landing steadily before the Warrior Leader. It crouched, and its suspension device sank to release the impact force, without any friction or delay.

Thus, it could immediately shift its center of gravity, as if naturally, and charge the Warrior Leader with an assault.

”So these intricate decorative movements can actually increase the overall speed—”

Sister Nether was taken aback when she saw this.

And Xi raised her eyebrows—why did this scene look so familiar to her, they had agreed it was just coincidence right? Clenching her teeth, she stared at Fang Hong and asked each word carefully, ”Ade, have you lied to me about anything?”

Fang Hong even had the luxury to be distracted.

He looked at her puzzledly, what had he lied about again?

”You two, cut out the lovey-dovey act,” Sister Nether said irritably at them, always annoyed to see someone not taking the control of the Flexible Construct seriously, especially Fang Hong: ”Focus and finish off the fight.”

”Pfft,” Sophie giggled and snorted, ”Who’s being lovey-dovey with him? I only like Sister Nether.”

Sister Nether gave her a look: ”Cut it out, naughty girl. Where’s Xi?”

Sophie tilted her pearly chin with her hand, ”Children make choices; Sister Nether and Xi are both mine.”

While they chatted for a moment.

In Fang Hong’s vision, combat had already broken out.

The Lizard Warrior Leader blocked with a spear, sparking a glow within the darkness that illuminated not just the streamlined figure of the Angel and her feminine metallic façade but also the pitch-black scales and bared fangs of the Lizard Warrior Leader.

But Fang Hong, through the Clockwork Fairy’s vision in midair, saw this scene as only data—the Warrior Leader’s data, the Angel’s data, rows upon rows of them stretching before his eyes.

It was like a god’s vision.

Telling him what the Lizard Warrior Leader would choose next.

The Energy Angel and Lizard Warrior Leader both retreated a step at the same time, neither of them fighters skilled in strength, but both adept in agility. The Warrior Leader regained balance a fraction quicker than the Angel, less than one-third of a second difference, but it’s enough for it to launch a counterattack first.

But as it attacked, it realized that the opponent had vanished.

On the screen in the hall, the Angel had activated its Blink ability and entered behind the Lizard Warrior Leader.

”But this trick probably won’t work on Elite Monsters.”

Someone immediately commented.

As the words fell, the Lizard Warrior Leader let out a shrieking thrust backward—like other Lizards, its left side reacted slower than the right, but that was sufficient against an opponent like the Angel.
