Pillar of Yita

”Can you still walk?” Fang Hong supported Hilveld and asked softly.

Hilveld was somewhat weak, but she still looked into his eyes and nodded.

”Then follow me.” Fang Hong let out a sigh, he had many questions to ask, but now was not the time.

The gunslingers of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team did not cease their firing, and the force field shield was nearly at its limit. The ’Energy Angel’ as a variant ’Sword Bearer’, apart from its attributes being all-around superior to those of a construct of the same level, its special silverizing crystal also granted it some transcendent powers. This included the force field shield they were now witnessing, along with the ’invisibility’ ability the man Fang Hong had beaten into a pig-headed state had assumed—when in reality, it was a short-range teleportation skill, Blink.

However, unlike Blink, which could be continuously cast by consuming magic power, the force field barrier required an extensive recharge time. Its principle of operation involved instantaneously stimulating all the magic power within the core crystal of the Energy Angel, to weave a force field barrier. The barrier’s life points were equal to three times the maximum output power of the crystal, but it had no resistances, and in any situation, it had to absorb the full amount of damage.

Furthermore, the shield rendered the Energy Angel’s overload function to cool down as well, with the former’s cool-down time being identical to that of the overload due to the instantaneous depletion of the magic power reserves within the core crystal. As a consequence, when casting the force field barrier, the Energy Angel would temporarily cease operation, awaiting further recharging of magic power by the operator before it could restart.

But because the two shields were under heavy attack, when Fang Hong needed to get the two ’Energy Angels’ moving again, their core crystals were less than twenty percent charged, not even enough to maintain a short-range blink with magic power.

Fortunately, he was not fighting alone.

His earlier entrance had drawn everyone’s attention. He used the ’Energy Angel’ to blink into the fray, then sliced off the hand of the guy adverse to Hilveld with one stroke, and through the entrance of a second Energy Angel, propelled that person out of the field with a rocket fist and onto the ground, before the gunslingers of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team fired. From start to finish, it took only about ten seconds.

During that time, all eyes were on him: the ranged professions fired amidst the billowing smoke, and with their commander downed, the close-combat professions drew their weapons and swarmed towards him almost immediately.

However, their reaction provided the others from Silver Weslan with an opportunity. Only a handful of people reacted, turning around to see the knights in silver armor and silver helms emerging from behind the smoke. They tried to alert their comrades, but it was futile.

The main force of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team had been on the other side of Lonely Bridge, and here were mainly the gunslingers responsible for fire suppression. The rest were the members of the Blood Oath Alliance who, on seeing the members of Silver Weslan, didn’t even have time to react—

Indeed, both sides were level 15, but the disparity in quality between the level 15 combatants was significant.

Those people only drew their weapons on instinct, but the swift sword of the Silver Weslan knights had already passed before their eyes, and few managed an instinctive block before their swords were sent flying.

The swift silver blade, like a bolt of lightning, pierced their defenses, bit through the armor, and laid the adversaries low.

It was just a first clash, and several from the Blood Oath Alliance had fallen.

Those who remained were just beginning to recognize the identity of these reapers—what a joke, they were merely a minor guild from Fenris Isle. Granted, they had the backing of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, but so what?

This was the guild ranked second overall in the China Competition Region—and first in head-to-head combat strength.

These people nearly forgot to defend themselves in the moment, their scalps tingling as they shouted, ”Silver Rose!”

Luckily, the gunslingers from the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, being from the BBK Alliance, were not as embarrassing as them. The moment they engaged, they realized they couldn’t rely on their allies and began an orderly retreat, taking cover behind the walls on either side before starting suppressive fire.

But their shooting, apart from causing a bit of trouble for Silver Weslan, was basically useless.

Not to mention the frontliners of Silver Weslan were primarily heavy armored professions; bullets merely sparked off their armor without causing significant damage, the equipment gap between the two sides being almost immeasurable. Even when occasionally someone was focused by fire, the priests of Silver Weslan acted more swiftly: a Heaven’s Shield, a golden protective barrier, was instantly deployed around the targeted member.

This allowed the gunslingers of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team to fully experience what despair felt like.

As for hitting the backline—without the front line broken, they couldn’t even dream about it.

Once they shifted their fire, the pressure on Fang Hong eased significantly, but instead of retreating with Hilveld to the rear, he stepped forward, carving out a bloody path through several Blood Oath Alliance members who had surrounded him using the two ’Energy Angels.’

Behind that blood-path lay the guy who had been downed earlier. Fang Hong rushed forward, grabbed the bruised and bloodied figure by the hair, and yanked him upright from the ground.

His face was swollen like a bun, his bruised eyes nearly squeezed shut, and he could only moan unconsciously.

Seeing this, Parker shuddered as he rushed over and said, ”Wait, this guy’s done,” the squeaky voice of the Papalar continued, ”You’re not going to punish him here, are you? We don’t have that American time, Alchemist, their people will be here any minute.”
