Pillar of Yita

In everyone’s vision, Fang Hong’s Clockwork Fairy’s reaction speed had obviously stepped up a notch and had also become more aggressive. If previously the goal had been to avoid all enemies as much as possible, at this moment, the Clockwork Fairy clearly began to actively intrude into the Night Lizard People’s perception range.

Of course, it wasn’t recklessly charging in, but rather probing at the edge of danger, as seen by everyone.

The closest Clockwork Fairy had approached a group of Night Lizard People within sixty feet before swiftly doubling back. The latter, spear in hand, suddenly turned, but before they could see, the Clockwork Fairy had already disappeared back into the darkness—the Night Lizard People’s vertical pupils narrowed into slits, but they saw nothing and could only shake their dorsal spines in confusion.

The same thing happened to several other Clockwork Fairies, one group to the north even being discovered. But Fang Hong deliberately redirected that Clockwork Fairy, even drawing the attention of several groups of Lizardmen sentinels.

While moving in one direction with Xiangzi, Fang Hong silently noted down his experimental data—the Lizard People’s extreme scouting distance for faint sounds in the darkness was about fifty-seven to fifty-eight feet, with their reaction time at 0.16 seconds, and they were not sensitive to faint vibrations in the air.

But it seemed they had the ability to sense the heating of Core Crystals, as evidenced by their certain level of perception towards Clockwork Fairies even behind a wall, which coincided with the data on the Night Lizard People’s thermosensitive abilities.

Nether listened to Fang Hong quietly reporting each set of data, feeling more surprised. This was indeed one of the ways her tactical intent was demonstrated. Many people were aware of only one aspect of Swift Tactics, not the other. Certainly, it was partly because the God Slayer kept it a secret, but on the other hand, she couldn’t help but feel somewhat disappointed in the successors to this tactic.

Of course, ever since she had the support of information from the God Slayer, she rarely did this herself anymore. But in Fang Hong, she seemed to see herself from the national college league competition, when Swift Tactics began to be refined gradually, presenting itself before people.

Though Fang Hong’s clumsy methods seemed somewhat comical in front of Nether, they were equally endearing to her—when had she herself not also awkwardly tried to improve her tactics? The ugly duckling will eventually transform into a swan, but very few people understand this, stumbling and faltering only as a prelude to the struggle of metamorphosis.

It may not be comfortable, but it is filled with passion.

And once it blooms, it will surely be movingly beautiful.

In her heart, Nether even felt a faint affection for the talented.

”But it’s a pity the foundation is so weak!” thought the Construct Queen, her control insufficient for an elite Combat Artisan intending to develop in the Second World, the starting point was in any case too low.

She heard Fang Hong murmuring to himself, thinking he was asking for her opinion. She was inclined to give him pointers to see how far he could go, and so she spoke generously, ”Your firsthand information comes from the Clockwork Fairy. You must understand this, but a Clockwork Fairy isn’t the same as you. In the end, a Combat Artisan must be able to turn the opponent’s reactions towards the Clockwork Fairy into data.”

This was the core of everything.

She hesitated, the next words concerned the most crucial secret of Swift Tactics, a secret a bit outdated, like a ’manual’ written on a yellowing piece of paper—ever since she joined the God Slayer, she seldom used it because there was more comprehensive intelligence support there, and the large Guild was no longer just her own solitary fight.

She carefully preserved those things, keeping them as a memento, not passing them on to others because her successors wouldn’t need such outdated stuff. She thought those things would permanently become a memory, staying by her side.

She just never expected there would be a day when they would be useful again.

But the moment before she decided to give them away, she hesitated again. She carefully watched the rows of data and charts, the result of her many days and nights of hard work. They were useless to others, but they were a treasure to her.

Could this young man take proper care of it and let it play its proper role?

But Nether finally made up her mind to speak: ”Regarding the Clockwork Fairy’s scouting ability, a distance of fifty to sixty feet can be directly regarded as having Scouting Skills above 35, the modifier for dark environments is 5, and with thermosensitive ability add another 10 to 15—and since Night Lizard People have Dark Vision, you can eliminate the dark environment modifier—”

She paused, ”In the process of long-term experimentation, I’ve summarized a data sheet that can correspond to most situations and environments, but the rest is up to you to explore. I don’t need this anymore, I’ll give it to you, hoping it can help you.”

After speaking, Her Majesty casually folded the system chart into a line and sent it to Fang Hong.

Fang Hong was a bit startled when he got the prompt; he seemed to realize Nether had misunderstood something. His murmurings weren’t actually asking for her opinion, but were discussions with Miss Tata, asking Miss Fairy to help verify the reliability of the data.

But when he saw the chart emerging bit by bit in his vision, he couldn’t help but gape in astonishment, his heart warming up. That chart also contained a description of the Night Lizard People, clearly written and much more detailed than the data he had checked temporarily.
