Pillar of Yita

”The adversary must have been resurrected through Toragotos’s Semi-Divine Artifact, but in fact, it’s also Milaila’s Divine Strength that is taking effect, and this will not change.”

”So that’s when I knew,” Fang Hong glanced in the direction where the girl had departed, ”which of the two sisters truly left this place.”

That was a lot to digest, and Sophie took quite a while to piece together the cause and effect, ”So she was lying from the start?”

Fang Hong nodded.

Sophie pondered for a moment, then looked up and asked, ”Does this mean you were testing her before?”

Fang Hong shook his head, ”Not entirely, because I couldn’t fathom her motive for doing such a thing.”

Sophie couldn’t help but mutter to herself, ”Yeah, why would she pretend to be her own sister?”

After thinking it over, she said, ”Let’s eliminate the possibility of internal strife within the Rain Listener Guild first, because that has nothing to do with us. If we assume this matter is related to us, then it only leaves the mastermind we’ve been trailing all this way.”

”That’s what I’m thinking too,” Fang Hong agreed, ”Eteliria indeed has some shapeshifting spells that can deceive, but I conducted a small test and discovered it was not the case.”

”Hmm?”

”I sent a message to Elisa.”

Sophie showed a look of realization, ”She replied to you?”

”That’s why ’she’ came here,” Fang Hong nodded, ”As you saw, no shapeshifting spell could seize the Summoners System. But if it’s actually Alice who is here, then why would Elisa collude with her to deceive us?”

”So internal conflicts within the guild can also be ruled out.”

Because if it were an internal conflict within the Rain Listener Guild, it would have nothing to do with Fang Hong, hence the sisters had no need to put on such an act in front of him—they could have simply explained everything.

Princess Hilveld of Silver Weslan also frowned, finding the situation rather tricky. No matter how she considered it, nothing made sense—if both sisters were involved with that mastermind, why would the elder sister die in that place?

Was it the handiwork of that woman named Hilveld?

For what reason?

Because she held some secrets of the sisters?

Fang Hong had also pondered over this question, but the adversary’s demeanor did not match what he had anticipated. He had tested her several times before, and yet Alice seemed very cooperative.

So if the adversary was indeed the mastermind and Hilveld was being framed, wasn’t she afraid that he would reveal these secrets to the Noble Lady after their meeting?

Moreover, he had already asked the Rain Listener Dual Swordsman; Elisa (Alice) had indeed never left the Rain Listener’s company, and they had even met on the fifth level.

At that time, he had not seen any black-clad person.

So, was he mistaken? Were these two matters completely unrelated?

The more he thought, the more confused he became, curious about what role Hilveld actually played in all of this.

Sophie seemed to be pondering the same question and reminded him, ”You’d better be careful, Ade. The things she promised you might be a trap; you have to beware of her selling you out to the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team.”

Fang Hong nodded; he was well aware of this.

”So, what do you plan to do next?” Sophie asked him.

”I might need your help,” Fang Hong replied openly and honestly.

Princess Hilveld of Silver Weslan smiled slightly, ”I thought as much.”

But as something occurred to her, she looked at Fang Hong with a bit of surprise, ”To be honest, I didn’t expect you were acting so convincingly before; I hadn’t realized you were testing her.”

At this, Fang Hong paused for a moment and then let out a small sigh. It was more accurate to say that rather than testing her, he wanted to give any person he trusted a chance. He genuinely hoped the twin sisters had not deceived him.

Of course, he also understood that he was no longer the naive, trusting young man from Morning Dawn Star.
