Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong was somewhat silent.

Only then did Sophie speak softly, ”I know about the grudges between you and the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, and confronting them is far from simple for an individual against such an organized Grand Guild—it’s a huge difference, in all aspects.”

”Although I personally agree with you, and many people in the community support you, it’s useless—if you really want to get revenge, join Silver Weslan. You should understand you have such value, and I can with great confidence persuade the guild’s higher-ups. Compared to you, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team is a behemoth, but nothing much before Silver Weslan.”

For the first time, the princess of Silver Weslan spoke so clearly, and she didn’t know why she would do so, as it was not in line with her usual character.

But deep down, Sophie merely felt that if she didn’t do so, the other might never choose this path.

However, Fang Hong remained silent for a moment, and ultimately, he shook his head, ”Thank you, Miss Sophie, I know you are sincere, and I do like Silver Weslan, but I do not want to join in such a manner—merely chasing after interests. If so, how am I any different from those people?”

He thought for a moment and continued, ”Moreover, this is my issue, and I won’t push it onto Silver Weslan. Perhaps it seems like a win-win situation to you, but to me, it actually looks like a lose-lose.”

He looked at Sophie, ”Because Silver Weslan wouldn’t easily abandon its beliefs, would it?”

The princess of Silver Weslan was stunned for a moment.

She thought she could educate this somewhat naive young man, but unexpectedly, she was the one being taught at the critical moment.

Sophie was stunned for quite a while before she finally answered subtly, ”Alright, but if you encounter any trouble you can’t solve, please remember to contact me. This time, I am representing not Silver Weslan, but myself.”

”Of course, Miss Sophie,” Fang Hong replied with a carefree smile, ”Don’t worry, I won’t be polite with friends.”

On the other side of the Light Page, the team suddenly stopped moving.

The group had reached the end of the road. The person in front held up a torch and shone it around, revealing a deep, deserted square in everyone’s vision.

Fang Hong glanced back; they had collapsed the Lonely Bridge when they left the eleventh level. Although a mere bridge should not be much of a hindrance to the people of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, at least it would delay them for some time.

They had also been walking long enough to leave the Red Cloak Team far behind. The dark underground was still unknown, and the people of Silver Weslan needed to stop and rest after the previous battle.

More importantly, he had his own personal matters to attend to.

It had already been dragging on for quite some time.

Fang Hong surveyed the surroundings and, somewhat satisfied with the environment, turned back to Sophie, ”It might take a while for the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team to catch up. I plan to let everyone rest for five minutes—I also need to deal with some team issues, so I’ll leave this to you, Miss Sophie.”

Sophie naturally understood his intention, nodded, and answered, ”Then be careful.”

After speaking, she took the initiative to end the communication, facing the gradually fading light screen, slightly dazed.

Sophie softly sighed, ”This is the first time I’ve met someone who doesn’t care about the Super Competitive Alliance either—I don’t know if he’s too confident or if he just doesn’t understand the severity of the issue...”

”But he’s quite handsome,” the Elementalist girl nearby casually answered, ”I originally didn’t think there was anything special about this guy, but it turns out Sister Sophie has a good eye.”

The former glared at the girl, ”Handsome in what way? He’s just brainless. You all must not follow his example; I don’t want my subordinates to be troublemakers.”

The girl shrugged.

In the deep underground—

Fang Hong settled the others in the square, especially instructing Tainaric to keep an eye on the two troublemakers, then he and Hilveld went to a deserted place nearby—and as he had expected, the black-clad people also followed.

Having progressively moved into the twelfth layer, the area around the square was not just optically dark. The deep surroundings were filled with swirling black mist, always giving the impression that there might be some other shadowy creatures lurking below.

Those things whispered in the dark, their fragmented words incessantly attempting to penetrate one’s mind. But when you tried to listen carefully, the surroundings were so silent you could hear a pin drop, and when you stopped, even the lone rustling sound disappeared, with the darkness as quiet as a vacuum.

The eerily silent environment made it somewhat oppressive, enough to cause hallucinations, where even the shadows under the torchlight flickered, no longer moving with their host, as if they had developed their own consciousness.

But Fang Hong shook his head, the hallucinations dissipated, and everything returned to normal, with no abnormalities.

He stopped, and the others followed suit.

Fang Hong then looked at those people, unafraid, and asked Hilveld in front, ”Who are they, can you tell me now, Miss Hilveld?”

Hilveld glanced at him, then at the others, nodded to them, and although there was some hesitation, the black-clad people still removed their hoods, revealing their faces. The six of them appeared to be natives of Colin Ishurian, one of whom was a Dwarf—although Fang Hong had already guessed this from their height.
