Pillar of Yita

”Give me the Short Sword,” ordered Fang Hong.

”What?”

The Papalarian was shocked, instinctively protecting his Short Sword, ”You wish, this is my Spoils of War!”

”I said I would give you that one.”

”Oh,” Parker relaxed, drawing out his own Short Sword to hand to him, ”What are you going to do?”

Fang Hong ignored him, yanked the man up from the ground, swung the Short Sword to his throat, and then shouted in the direction of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team Gunslingers, ”Everyone stop!”

The others were stunned by the scene.

Particularly Dianmo Ran Qingzhu, who couldn’t help but mutter, ”Mr. Ade isn’t getting carried away by too many movies, is he?” It was well known that no Grand Guild would ever cease fire just because a Member had fallen into the opponent’s hands during such an operation.

No matter whether that member was a Commander or not.

Even if they were core members, as Sophie had said, even elite teams like theirs in such a mission would not have any special privileges.

But, to the astonishment of everyone from Silver Weslan, after Fang Hong’s shout, the firepower of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team actually waned, and, after a moment, those Gunslingers indeed stopped shooting and no longer opened fire.

Seeing this, the remaining Blood Oath Alliance Members dared not resist any longer and retreated, scattering into the clusters of buildings to the left and right.

Everyone exchanged glances—what was going on?

Fang Hong glanced at the Papalarian by his side with annoyance and shook the hostage in his hand, ”Teach him a lesson? Do you think everyone is as bored as you are?”

”Wait a second, what’s going on here, have you cast some Magic on them?” Parker was also surprised, ”The person in your hand couldn’t be the illegitimate son of the BBK Alliance’s major shareholder, could he?”

Fang Hong shook his head; of course not. He was just taking a gamble, but it had surprisingly paid off. He had found the man’s actions strange from the start—ordinary Summoners, no matter how nasty their character, would still show some degree of decorum toward a lady when under Earthlings’ watchful eyes, but this man’s conduct was obviously abnormal.

Unless he harbored a grudge against Hilveld, but during their time in Saint Peru Valley, Miss Hilveld apparently had no encounters with the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team.

But if he wasn’t a Chosen, that left only one possibility—he was a Native.

A Native mixed in with the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, even within their commanding ranks. If Fang Hong remembered correctly, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team was not a mixed Guild, but a purely Summoners’ Guild.

Now this was interesting.

Such a situation was not unheard of, but it was always very unusual.

For the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team to include him in this mission implied he might be a storyline or mission-related character, so Fang Hong decided to bet that the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team would not joke about his life.

If the gamble paid off, then all the better—and even if he lost, it was not his own man at stake anyway. Yet he did not expect to be so effective; after his shout, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team really fell silent.

The Jiefulite Red Cloak Team Members guarding Hilveld’s subordinates in black were quick to react. Seeing the hostage in his hand, they began pulling up the black-robed people, who were tied up like dumplings, wanting to retreat.

But as they were just standing up, a spear suddenly flew out of the void, piercing through three of them consecutively, flying with them and nailing them to a wall.

The remaining ones, shocked, turned back, just in time to see a huge Lizard Person suddenly appear and scream, swinging its long tail like a whip, sweeping all the remaining people off their feet and smashing them against the wall, leaving their fate unknown.

Then, as signaled by Fang Hong, Tainaric began untieing the black-clothed people one by one.

Fang Hong hadn’t anticipated that the Invisibility Potion Alice had given them would work so well at this moment. Otherwise, it would have taken quite the effort to save those in black. If both sides ended up with hostages, it would have been problematic.

Looking back, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team on the cliff had already broken through the Corpse Ghosts’ encirclement and were rushing in this direction. Reaching the platform was just a matter of time, which meant they didn’t have much left.

He signaled for the people of Silver Weslan to gather behind him and then lifted the hostage in front of him, retreating step by step.

The man moaned again, struggling unconsciously; Fang Hong slapped him without thinking, knocking him back unconscious. The onlookers exchanged looks—it seemed a bit excessive; they didn’t need to treat him like that, given his condition.

”Boss, aren’t you afraid you’ll kill him?” Dianmo Ran Qingzhu still didn’t understand what the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team was up to, but seeing how useful the hostage seemed, he asked worriedly.

Fang Hong glanced at the man in his hand and said flatly, ”If he dies, he dies.”

”Ah?” Dianmo Ran Qingzhu was taken aback; the boss was too indifferent, treating the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team as nothing.
