Pillar of Yita

The towering man spoke, glanced silently at Fang Hong, and his gaze fell on the latter’s right hand. The Crown’s mark was obscured by a glove, but it was as if he could see through it. His tone was very calm, not annoyed at all, ”But this is actually not a big deal.

Nikopolas’s cunning means she will not easily reveal herself before her power is fully restored, and at least this way, we might be able to settle our old scores with her much earlier.”

Fang Hong thought of the other’s previous conversation with the Giant Dragon and asked, ”So, that’s why you said that back then, you intentionally let her go, right?”

Mr. Mazak neither confirmed nor denied it.

After the initial tension passed, Tianlan had completely regained her composure and looked at him with stars in her eyes as if she was seeing a living legend. She couldn’t help but ask curiously, ”So you’re going to fight her alone? Are you as powerful as your ancestor Xiuyuede, Mr. Mazak?”

Mr. Mazak didn’t directly answer the question, merely saying, ”It’s our clan’s destiny, little girl.”

Chewing on the term, Fang Hong asked, ”But, I have another doubt. Why specifically tell us this, Mr. Mazak?”

”Because I want you to do me a favor.”

Everyone’s gaze subconsciously focused on Fang Hong. As Mr. Mazak said ’you’ instead of ’you all,’ it was clear he was referring to Fang Hong.

Fang Hong was somewhat surprised and said to Mr. Mazak, ”But Mr. Mazak, I’m still a novice.”

Tianlan, hearing this, couldn’t help but give him meaningful glances, wondering how one could push away such an interesting and thrilling task. But Fang Hong was not afraid of being enemies with the Dark Giant Dragon; he was worried that his Level was too low to complete the other’s request.

Mr. Mazak picked up the unspoken implication and shook his head, ”Don’t worry, it’s just a small matter; you can definitely handle it. Before I head to Traveler’s Swamp, I hope to entrust a reliable person to deliver something to an old acquaintance near Golande, and I hope that person is you—”

”A delivery?”

”Me?” Fang Hong and Tianlan asked simultaneously, but the former was truly inquiring, while the latter looked disappointed.

To Tianlan, a delivery task was the lowest Level in Eteliria, only slightly more advanced than helping someone find a lost item.

”Oathkeepers trust their intuition.” Mr. Mazak replied, as he took out a palm-sized package from his pocket, wrapped tightly in oil paper and evidently well-prepared, ”I trust you can do it, just need one guarantee, that you will not open the package before you arrive at Golande, and not look at what’s inside—”

Fang Hong paused, and saw system prompts emerging in his vision:

’Update quest catalog—Dragon’s Witch.’

’Update superior quest catalog—The Arrival of the Third Star of Calamity.’

’Record Knowledge Experience—3200 points.’

’Potential quest detected, do you accept Mr. Mazak’s commission?’

Mr. Mazak, holding the package, quietly watched him. And the gazes of the others also fell on Fang Hong.

The latter hesitated only for a moment before taking the package. Not to mention his curiosity about the story, the mere fact of Mr. Mazak’s earlier assistance meant he wouldn’t easily refuse. Besides, this task seemed a mere trifle to him.

”I will take good care of it, and deliver it, Mr. Mazak,” Fang Hong earnestly promised.

Mr. Mazak looked at him and seemed to have no doubt that this promise would be fulfilled, merely nodding slightly.

The night was quiet.

Only the bright light of the campfire remained.
