Pillar of Yita

Inside the leather case,

a petite lady lay slumbering upon the velvet silk padding, encircled by bronze-adorned thorns and roses, cradling her cheek in her hand, her small body curled up. The leaf-like skirt panels gathered one upon another, with four bronze feathers drooping downwards, overlapping each other.

It was like an exquisite piece of art.

Miss Hilveld stood silently behind the case, her clear eyes observing everyone beneath her veil. Her soft golden hair draped over her snow-white neck, falling in front of her chest, as her lace-edged gloves overlapped one another, her fingertips lightly resting on the handle of the case.

Fang Hong’s gaze was completely captivated by the contents of the case. He said in surprise, ”This... is really a Fairy Type Construct,” he looked up, adding with excitement, ”Can I really use it?”

The girl nodded and replied with a voice as clear as crystal, ”Mr. Xiaya is welcome to use it.”

”Ah, how cute!” Tianlan also approached the case and asked, ”Miss Hilveld, may I take a look at her?”

The girl nodded gently once more.

Tianlan then carefully picked up the doll. The doll was about as long as her forearm, its face carved into the likeness of a sleeping girl with astonishingly delicate detail.

Carved around its neckline was a wild rose, flanked by a few pages of articulated shoulder plates hanging down like a shawl. The shawl was adorned with high-relief carvings of grand lily leaves and primroses, as well as a canary in mid-flight.

Her hair was woven from Mithril Thread—tied into twin ponytails, secured by a unicorn brooch, with the same noble emblem as on the outside of the case.

Upon seeing the brooch, Luo Yu recognized the heraldry and whispered, ”This is a Fairy Figure from the Rose Workshop.”

Fang Hong naturally remembered it as well.

’Time flows like water, wisdom grows with each day—’

That was the motto of the Westwood-Sibika family, an evergreen within the Colin Ishurian Alchemy Realm, the founders of the Rose Workshop, and one of the most famous inheritors of fairy craftsmanship. No wonder it sounded so familiar to him.

Tianlan passed the doll to Fang Hong, and only then did she realize that everyone’s gaze was fixated on the doll, causing her to pause, ”What’s wrong?”

But no one responded to her.

At that moment, the fog in the great hall had grown even denser, nearly thick enough to obscure one’s view entirely. Wu Di and Liuli Yue, after jointly taking down another Dragonman, turned their attention back to Fang Hong and the doll in his hands, asking, ”Do you know how to use it?”

Fang Hong hesitated as well.

Fairy Type Constructs were among the most special in Flexible Constructs, not Combat Constructs, but purely auxiliary Flexible Constructs.

They were Dominators, the core and Commanders on the battlefield, capable of assisting in the command and control of Flexible Constructs, greatly enhancing their combat abilities, and significantly boosting the Multi-Control Ability of other Combat Artisans in the team.

Alchemists skilled in operating this type of Construct were therefore known as Fairy Masters, and they were among the highest-tier supporters within Combat Artisans.

But they were also among the rarest—

This was because controlling Fairy Type Constructs was exceedingly difficult, and Fairy Masters themselves severely lacked combat capabilities. Hence, there was even an old saying in Colin Ishurian to describe this group:

’If Flexible Constructs are the craftsmen’s Hailin Crown, then fairies are the most dazzling gemstones atop the crown.’

The implication being that the Hailin Crown had long since disappeared for many years, and hence, the joke among craftsmen was that the gemstone atop the crown was naturally unattainable by anyone.

However, this gemstone,

was in fact, one of the highest domains of Combat Artisans.

So even if Fang Hong was quite confident, he couldn’t claim he could be a competent Fairy Master at level three. In reality, he had yet to grasp the ’Special Flexible Construct Basic Theory’ and ’A-grade Ether Knowledge’ necessary for Fairy Type Constructs.

Of course, he wasn’t willing to give up this opportunity to get close to a ’fairy,’ so after pondering for a moment, he replied, ”I, I can give it a try.”

Red Leaf gave his shoulder a pat, as if to say—Kid, find yourself a better excuse next time.

Wu Di didn’t seem to mind, instead, he looked towards Hilveld not far away, impressed by the young lady’s frail beauty. Yet he remained stoic, aware of the other party’s intention, and said, ”Madam, if you wish to accompany us, please try to keep up with the others. However, if you fall behind, I’m afraid nobody will come to save you—”

The girl immediately nodded, then closed the case and dragged it to catch up with the others, politely replying, ”Thank you. There are no words to express my gratitude for saving our lives.”

What prompted Fang Hong to give the other party another glance was—that despite the situation, the maid still maintained a calm composure, showing no intention of helping her mistress with the luggage.

By now, the environment of the great hall had become increasingly dangerous, and the team was actually retreating as they fought, gradually moving toward the east—where the kitchen was located.

As Fang Hong periodically glanced at the noble lady, he was internally torn, wondering whether he should go find them if the two of them fell behind—how wonderful it would be if, in their gratitude, they decided to give him the Fairy Construct.

He wore all these thoughts on his face, indulging in such daydreams, which caused Atira to look at him and shake her head silently, speechless.

At the same time, Hilveld also happened to look at Fang Hong with curiosity, and their eyes accidentally met, causing both to pause slightly. Fang Hong’s face flushed red, and he guiltily shifted his gaze away.
