Pillar of Yita

The Flame Ray subsystem’s cone-shaped crystal turned into a flow of hot molten lava after charging, firing a golden-red beam into the swirling dark fog. A painful, deep growl came from the left. Did it really hit? Red Leaf turned her head back in alarm.

The young boy closed his eyes tightly, standing amidst the surging black smoke, raising his right hand with fingers spread. A glowing blue magic net rolled towards her and her Annihilator, enveloping both of them within.

The dark fog dispersed automatically around Fang Hong’s body due to the magic circulation, stirring his robe without wind, fluttering against the boy’s chin.

He faced his palm upwards, extending his left hand.

Only to see a Fairy Doll rise in his palm, rotating half a turn, its spring-loaded petal skirt spinning, with Alchemy Formulas lighting up and then fading away on it. The fairy girl then gently landed back in his palm, her feet touching down one after the other, raising her hands and placing them lightly on her skirt like a lady’s curtsy.

Her head tilted slightly, as Mithril hair strands brushed over her cheek, and she opened her eyes slightly. Behind her, the fairy’s copper feathers snapped open all at once, bright as blades. In her pupils, Zhan Lan was like fire, all in the color of magic power.

With a gentle flap of her four wings behind her, the Fairy Doll extended her hands towards Fang Hong, and the glowing blue magic flowed from the palms, connecting to the boy, then to her, and the Annihilator, forming three shimmering bands of light.

Red Leaf, surrounded by this glowing flow of light, found herself momentarily at a loss for words.

”You—,” when Liuli Yue saw this scene, her comment ’very classy’ died before it could be born; she blinked her eyes and couldn’t help but turn to ask Wu Di, ”Fairy Master?”

”Don’t get distracted.” Wu Di threw a punch, the wind of the fist sweeping past the boy’s nose, startling him while simultaneously his Fearless One landed a punch that sent a Dragonman flying.

A sea of blue light was blossoming in the darkness.

The light outlined Hilveld’s face as she blinked her long eyelashes, quietly watching the scene.

The maid stood silently beside her, only glancing at the blue light once.

”Ade?” Not far away, Hudi looked at the Fairy Doll with eyes filled with shock, forgetting to even call out a fake name. Luo Yu pulled him from the back before he reluctantly turned his head.

Still, he continued to ask, ”Did you see that, Fairy Master’s talent?”

Luo Yu nodded her head.

Meanwhile, Tianlan was still looking back, curiously asking, ”Where’s Sister Atira?”

A Papalarian was climbing on top of a table using his hands and feet. The wooden table was against the wall, and on the stone above the wainscot hung a heavy crossbow. He had jumped several times but hadn’t managed to reach it.

Hudi took it down for him as he passed by.

”It was hanging a little too high,” Parker muttered in complaint. He reached back with his hand, touched nothing, and turned his head around in confusion, looking left and right mumbling to himself:

”Where’s my Short Sword? It was such a big one; I clearly put it right here.”

In the mist, Atira took down the Hailin Spear and quietly moved through the spreading dust, arriving beside Fang Hong.

Fang Hong sensed something but was instructing Red Leaf to attack, ”Direction 453, I’ve already activated the subsystem for you.” Red Leaf did as told, her fingertips tapping rapidly, firing twice in the instructed direction between nine and ten o’clock, both shots hitting their mark.

The system notified her that she had injured one Dragonman and killed another.

A third Dragonman was already charging through the fog, its sharp claws slashing at the slowly spinning Annihilator. But Fang Hong had already read the position in advance, ”Direction 467, one, Speed 22; Direction 472, two, Speed 19.”

Red Leaf turned around, her long hair flying, and with a push of her right hand, two Constructs flew out, one above the other, releasing a bright net of light, blocking the Dragonmen’s Attack.

However, the latter’s attack was naturally not as weak as a Walker Model I; its claws hit the Rhombic Shield, and the Light Shield immediately began to shake violently.

Watching the readings on her Core Crystal, Red Leaf raised an eyebrow at the fluctuating magic cycle and the change in temperature, ”An attack over a hundred, that’s really high.”

But after all, the Dragonmen were mere flesh and blood and cried out in pain as they withdrew their claws.

”Behind you,” Fang Hong warned.

A horrifying, scaly face had already emerged from behind the fog, that of a Spellcaster. Its withered claws lifted a black flame, grasping towards the girl’s slender neck.

Red Leaf’s thoughts flickered, and with a hand over her shoulder, two Magic Buoys on the dial went dark while two others lit up. The metal cover on the back of the Annihilator slid open left and right, and two beams of rainbow light shot out, forming a Force Field Barrier behind her.

The Dragonman’s claws were blocked squarely, and the black fire eroded upon the light net, immediately hissing loudly.

Only then did the girl turn around, baring her teeth at the treacherous creature in a smile, ”Bye-bye.” A golden pattern flashed across the Annihilator, the Dragonman Spellcaster felt his body heavy, and his movements froze.

Then Red Leaf kicked it in the stomach, sending the Monster screaming as it flew away.

With another gesture of her hand, two golden-red rays shot through the creature’s chest from front and back, exploding into a hole shrouded in black fog.

The body of the Dragonman Spellcaster barely hit the ground before disintegrating into dust.

But as she turned around, she freed another Dragonman.

At that moment, however, a crossbow bolt flew by, grazing Red Leaf’s hair, hitting the aforementioned Dragonman right in its eye socket. The creature let out a dreadful shriek, clutching its wound and turning to dive back into the spreading mist.

”Die, big lizard!” Parker, holding the Heavy Crossbow with his chubby little arms, proudly swiped his hair and stood on the table, shouting loudly, ”If only this crossbow weren’t a regular War Gear, the damage is too low—”
