Pillar of Yita

The members of Dragonfire instinctively looked up.

Before them, through the dust, a pair of rugged gray long wings slowly revealed themselves, the tips rising slowly—almost reaching the highest point of the inn, and then gently sweeping downward.

The dust scattered in all directions, reaching the edge of the water and immediately creating a white wave on the surface of the swamp. The wave tumbled towards them, and the brisk wind hit their faces, still strong enough to flutter everyone’s hair.

Then it continued sweeping backward, causing the mangrove forest behind to rustle loudly.

The assassin also held down his hat.

”What the hell is that!?” someone shouted in the wind.

But he was soon unable to shout anymore. For with those gigantic wings pressing downward, the air pressure lifted the massive creature abruptly upwards as it turned in mid-air, opened its wings, and revealed its true form.

With wings at its four corners, pupils like molten fire, four claws naturally hanging down, and its abdomen covered layer by layer with black scales as if forged from steel. Its slender tail swept across the inn, shaving off half the roof, causing the entire peaked roof of the inn to collapse with a loud crash.

Upon seeing this, Fang Hong’s scalp tingled; this monstrous creature had grown significantly larger since they first saw it, now nearly as tall as a three-story building.

Turning around, he saw Wu Di and Liuli Yue crawling and scrambling out from the smoke. Liuli Yue paused for a moment upon seeing the scene before her: ”What’s going on now?”

”No time to explain, run!” Fang Hong covered his ears and dashed forward.

In fact, he didn’t need to remind anyone, as everyone escaping from the inn had ’clearly understood the message’, all mimicking him by covering their ears and rushing forward. Some members of Dragonfire hadn’t reacted yet, and upon seeing the others fleeing, they instinctively wanted to open fire—

But just then, the giant dragon in mid-air spread its wings and suddenly let out a long roar.

The terrifying dragon roar made all the unprepared members of Dragonfire simultaneously cover their ears, darkness overwhelming them as they collapsed to the ground. Seizing this opportunity, Fang Hong and his group, who were already prepared, quickly ran through the water in another direction.

Big Sister opened her eyes just in time to witness this scene.

She immediately lifted her handgun, aiming at Atira who was still running away.

But just then, someone fired before she could.

The first to shoot was one of the Hunter Soldiers, but his target was not Fang Hong and his group; instead, he opened fire on the giant dragon in the sky in a moment of extreme fear.

”Don’t shoot!” The assassin next to Big Sister saw this and couldn’t help but shout out loud.

But it was already too late.

This shot was like a signal, and everyone reflexively started firing at the giant dragon in the sky, a continuous burst of golden-red firelight flourishing. Supported by the formidable magic power of the Attribute Core Crystal, countless bullets spiraled out, striking the dragon’s chest and head like raindrops and creating sparks upon impact.

But in the end, not even a mark was left.

A moment later, Dragonfire’s members finally realized the foolishness of their act. ”A Boss Level monster?” they stammered as they gasped, while the Dark Giant Dragon slowly lowered its head, its golden-red pupils flickering with an inexplicable light.

”Get down!”

Wu Di, who had already run a good distance away, saw the scene and loudly warned everyone.

Fang Hong’s movement wasn’t the fastest, but it wasn’t slow either; he dove forward, as the wind driven by the dragon’s flapping wings swept horizontally behind him, vigorously pulling at his long robe. A huge shadow passed over everyone’s heads and with a loud crash dove down onto the mound where the people of Dragonfire were.

The entire ground vibrated with the impact.

Fang Hong was lifted off the ground and slammed into a nearby rock, his life instantly dropping by more than a quarter. The impact made stars appear before his eyes, and he painfully raised his head in that direction, indeed seeing a cloud of lingering dust.

Meanwhile, Dragonfire’s members were scattering in all directions within the dust.

But it was completely pointless.

The dragon swept its tail through the dust, flinging several people out with ease. As for Big Sister, she was nowhere to be seen by this point, alive or dead.

It seemed more likely ill-fated than not.
