Pillar of Yita

”Damn, so unreliable,” the youth cursed as he struggled to keep his Walker entangled with the Dragonmen, ”You all better hurry up and make a decision, and help me out a bit.”

In the midst of swirling black mist, Dragonmen attacked everyone in the hall, guests were fainting, dying, and fleeing. The adventurers and the monsters fought fiercely, turning the once brilliantly lit hall into a chaotic battlefield.

Over ten Dwarf Guards rushed in from the main entrance, but they were hindered by the Dragonmen and the dust and couldn’t immediately get closer to this side.

Two more Dragonmen burst through the fog toward a few people, but were blocked by Liuli Yue’s Walker.

However, the Dragonmen were not low level, at least above Level ten, and it was clearly difficult for the latter to fight against two.

Wu Di nodded, put on his control gloves, and with a raise of his hand, his Fearless One burst through the mist and joined the fight. Soon after, it punched through the head of one of the Dragonmen.

The iron fist pierced through the skull, and the Dragonman dissolved into a mist that merged back into the black dust.

But in just a moment, more monsters formed from the dust.

”Can’t they be completely killed?” Red Leaf asked, frowning deeply, ”What do we do?”

Fang Hong was not scared at all, instead he seemed eager, saying to the others, ”Its strength doesn’t seem to have fully recovered, could we possibly—?”

”Are you crazy?” Red Leaf and Liuli Yue interrupted him in unison, with the latter looking at him as if he were foolish.

”You can’t, Mr. Xiaya!” Tianlan also quickly said.

”That’s a Boss Level creature,” Wu Di shook his head, explaining, ”Even if it just lies there and lets us hit it, we’d probably still have a hard time breaking its defense.”

”The last time our guild went hunting a Boss Level Dragon Kind, four teams went, and only one team was able to maintain its structure afterwards, and that was just a Sub Dragon Species,” Red Leaf nodded as well.

Everyone looked at Fang Hong after hearing this.

Fang Hong looked back at everyone innocently and scratched his head—what could he do? He didn’t know how formidable a Boss Level creature was. Wasn’t it because that dragon hadn’t fully regained its strength?

”Xiaya is just a rookie. It’s normal that he doesn’t know,” Atira finally said softly, holding Ameya’s Holy Emblem in her hand, its soft green light dispelling the darkness around them: ”Anyway, let’s leave this place first.”

Everyone nodded.

Wu Di and Red Leaf in particular valued Atira’s words, since they had only managed to escape the Phantom Realm by relying on her Holy Emblem. Now that their partner had spoken, even if the youth had objections about Fang Hong and his group, he had to keep quiet at this moment.

”Then we’ll go around to the main entrance?” Luo Yu finally asked.

”Not reliable,” Red Leaf shook her head after hearing this. Not to mention the increasing number that were emerging from the fog, just having to pass that dragon made the plan full of uncertainties.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but look towards the rear, where there was also a large door: ”Then where does that corridor behind lead to?”

”Cellar,” Wu Di answered.

”Damn, that’s just waiting to die,” Liuli Yue couldn’t help but roll his eyes on hearing that.

”Wait, I have an idea—” Just then, a weak voice came from under a table. Everyone turned their heads and saw it was a Papalarian Crossbowman clutching a table leg.

The little chubby lifted up a small, short arm, his small, bean-like eyes hesitantly looking at everyone: ”... I mean, the kitchen should have a service tunnel.”

All eyes turned to each other.

”Good idea,” Red Leaf couldn’t help but her eyes light up: ”That should lead to the back door of the inn.”

”Which way is the kitchen?” Wu Di immediately asked.

”I know, I know,” Parker crawled out from under the table and said loudly: ”This way, follow me!”

”How do you know that?” Red Leaf curiously looked at the small Dwarf. She had been here several times but had never cared to notice where the kitchen was located.

”It’s a Papalarian racial talent,” he replied proudly, patting his chest: ”There is no kitchen that Papalarians can’t find.”

”There’s a talent like that?” Red Leaf was also surprised.

Only Tianlan couldn’t help but snort with laughter upon hearing this.

”Hold on,” Wu Di then stopped the others. ”Since someone has triggered this Dragon Horn mission, it’s not necessarily safe outside the inn. Even if it is safe, we must be prepared. Let’s form teams and determine everyone’s roles to avoid confusion later.”

As he spoke, he glanced back at the hall, his dead fish-like eyes void of emotion, as if everything occurring around him was unrelated. He simply instructed Liuli Yue, ”You hold on for a bit.”

The boy didn’t respond, only using his Walker to fend off more Dragonmen as he retreated.

Then he loudly reminded, ”I can’t hold on for long, you all had better hurry.”

Wu Di nodded.

Fang Hong looked at him surprisingly, not expecting this indifferent and somewhat aloof individual to reveal such attentiveness.

Wu Di was the first to ask Red Leaf, ”Red Leaf, do you still have the ability to fight?”

Red Leaf nodded, raised his hand, and a sheet of blue light flickered in the void, resembling many light blue blocks flashing and stacking together, finally outlining an octahedron.

When all light vanished, a brand new black octahedron floated in mid-air, slowly rotating.

Another Annihilator QV700.

Fang Hong drooled at the sight. This was a projection device capable of converting non-living substances into real informational states, stored within the system. It worked on the same principle as the digital currency system but was much more expensive. A standard capacity (30Kg) projection device cost 100,000 Lycel.

Then Wu Di looked at him, ”What about you, Xiaya?”

”Me?” Fang Hong was stunned for a moment before realizing he was being addressed, ”My Walker is damaged, but if you give me some time, I can fix it.”

Liuli Yue, engaged in close combat with the Dragonmen, heard this and could not help but curse, ”You only have one Flexible Construct? How can you be so miserly, oh my god, are you really a Combat Artisan?”

Tianlan was about to retort, but Wu Di interjected and continued asking, ”How much time do you need?”

Fang Hong silently estimated, ”Five...no, three minutes.”

”Three minutes, one hundred eighty seconds?” Red Leaf looked at him in shock, ”You can fix your Walker in three minutes, little brother, you’re not bluffing, are you?”

”I can only roughly fix it,” Fang Hong also said, ”and I can’t recharge it either.”

”You even want to recharge it?” Red Leaf rolled his eyes.

But the boy didn’t have the patience to respond, ”Forget three minutes, even one minute is too long, look up there, the Dragon Horn is almost completely gone!”

Everyone looked up only to realize the truth in Liuli Yue’s words; in such a short time, only less than a fifth of the Dragon Horn remained.

Wu Di frowned, missing a combatant made it difficult for the three of them to protect so many people. The Dragonmen were Level 10 and above Dark Creatures, so to him, level seven and eight figures like Atira, and that Papalarian Crossbowman didn’t count as combat power.

He had a spare Construct, but it wasn’t something Fang Hong could use at his level—

Wu Di thought for a moment, prepared to have Fang Hong go to the back to protect the three Trainees. He figured that with him, Atira, and the others’ capabilities, they could at least share some of the pressure.

Just then, a somewhat ethereal voice came from the side:

”Mr. Xiaya can use my construct—”

Fang Hong looked back in astonishment.

The blonde-haired girl had emerged from the foggy surroundings as if stepping out of a fairy tale. Everyone else stared in amazement. Only the tall maid, silently following, her violet eyes vigilantly watching everyone.

Hilveld carried a huge suitcase in both hands, and with a thud, placed it in front of them.

She tapped the suitcase lightly with her snow-white gloved hand, and with a ’click’, several gold-foiled locks sprung open. The noble family emblem on the suitcase slowly recessed inward, and the gilded banner bearing the motto ”Time flows like water, wisdom grows with the days” glinted with a profound gleam.

Then the mouth of the suitcase ’clacked’ open, revealing the contents inside.

It was a doll resembling a fairy, nestled among thorns and roses.

Or rather, a Flexible Construct.

”Ah—” Seeing that Flexible Construct for an instant, Red Leaf couldn’t help but exclaim aloud.

”A Fairy Construct!?”
