Pillar of Yita

An ordinary Invoker would commonly level up once about every six months through the normal process before reaching Level 10. Only the elites nurtured by the Grand Guild could rise above Level 10 within two to three years.

And thirty-three thousand experience points, for an individual, was equivalent to accomplishing a ’heroic feat,’ or a ’glorious deed.’ In Eteliria, a typical ’heroic feat’ was almost akin to becoming famous in a city.

Knowledge referred to experiencing an event—not just inspiring or participating, where the latter two would certainly offer substantially more rewards.

Just experiencing such an event could make someone famous in an area with tens of thousands of people? Fang Hong simply couldn’t imagine what kind of profoundly impactful event it would take to achieve this.

Unfortunately, no one could tell him the answer—

Because in the information world of Eteliria, the laws and reality differed greatly—the system here seemed to possess a transcendent power that always pre-knew and filtered clues, yet often left only snippets of information.

The mention of the ’Dragon’s Witch’ event was easy to understand, but Fang Hong was still pondering its higher category, the so-called ’Arrival of the Third Star of Calamity.’ But every time, he would headache over his scant knowledge of the first world.

Mr. Mazak had already advanced a great distance.

Fang Hong glanced over, then set aside his thoughts and followed. The former wasn’t walking fast, purposefully waiting for him to catch up. After catching up, Fang Hong remembered the words of the other—his mind still held some astonishment: that just a remnant power from a chopped-off horn of a dragon could transform into a Boss Level monster, how strong could Nikopolas in his true form be?

And what, truly, was the Dragon’s Witch?

In the records of the Silver Tower, the last Dark Dragon fell in the Dead Marsh. Had there been other Dark Dragons existing in the world since then?

But when he spoke, he asked about something completely unrelated, ”Where are we going? Mr. Mazak, aren’t we going back to the inn?”

”The inn isn’t safe right now,” the tall man replied, though his tone was somewhat dismissive. More than concern, it was disdain. Fang Hong thought he referred to those who had triggered the quest, so he didn’t inquire further.

A while later, the former continued, ”There’s a forest ahead, it’s your companions’ secret base.”

”Secret base?” Fang Hong was stunned for a moment, then he recalled it was not the first time he’d heard this term.

It was a dense Redwood Forest, the terrain elevated, forming a dry slope here. The Redwood Forest surrounded the island completely, thriving vigorously, its roots plunged into the water like a labyrinth. Mazak led Fang Hong, winding left and right through the root network, and it took a good while before they stepped onto solid ground.

Fortunately, they encountered Tianlan and Gita, as well as Luo Yu with the Papalarian Crossbowman. It turned out they had heard the Dragon Roar and knew the dragon had flown away, deciding to wait here to reunite with others.

Tianlan was extremely delighted when she saw Fang Hong: ”Ah, Brother Ade, how did you know about this place?”

Behind this French girl, Luo Yu and Gita were constructing a clay stove, apparently preparing to start a fire to dry their clothes. The others were okay, only their pants were soaked, but Gita, being shorter, was almost completely drenched.

Parker was sitting under a tree, struggling to pour water out of his boots, but he actually poured out a silver fish, which was floundering on the ground. Everyone looked in Fang Hong’s direction, with only Gita slightly turning away.

Fang Hong looked at this ’little lad’ surprisingly, but unexpectedly saw that the soaking robe clung to his body, revealing curves that though very slight, were delicately defined.

He thought he had seen wrong and couldn’t help but look again. But he saw Gita looking down, quietly saying: ”Mr. Ade...”

”Ah—”

”Sorry, sorry.”

Fang Hong blushed and quickly averted his gaze. He certainly wasn’t a fool, having had some suspicions all along, but only now did he confirm them. ”Um, I just didn’t expect…” he said, touching his nose with some embarrassment.

”It’s not your fault, it was Parker’s doing,” Tianlan said irritably.

Fang Hong curiously glanced at the Papalarian, wanting to know what good deed the other had done. After the French girl explained, he understood that Gita’s robe had been bought by this Papalarian gentleman—who naturally chose a style similar to his own.

He couldn’t help shaking his head.

At that moment, the others finally noticed the silent, reticent innkeeper behind Fang Hong. Tianlan saw Mazak and couldn’t help sticking out her tongue, ”Ah, good evening, Mr. Mazak—it’s no wonder Brother Ade could find this place!”

Mazak nodded at them.

He walked to the campfire, which was already stacked with dry firewood. He took out a match, expertly struck it against a stone and lit the tender grass and moss in the center of the woodpile. Bright flames quickly arose.

Only then did Mazak turn around and tossed a white glass bottle to the group, saying, ”Treat yourselves first.”
