Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1444 - 713: Super Battleship Main Cannon!

After entering the elevator made of crimson crystal, it began to descend.

In just three seconds, the elevator doors opened again.

Outside the elevator was the top floor of this black building.

The interior of the building was lit, and there were windows allowing the red light outside to shine in.

However, because the walls of the building were also pure black, and slightly rough, they couldn’t reflect light, which made the entire room appear exceedingly dim despite the illumination.

The three people exited the elevator.

”Mmm...” Keke turned slightly in Xu Xin’s arms, mumbled something, smacked her tiny lips, and continued to sleep.

”Keke is sleeping so soundly, it’s making me relax a lot too.”

Li Wenxi rubbed Keke’s little head and said.

Only when there is no danger at all does Keke relax like this.

It seems like they probably don’t need to worry about any danger in this building.

The three of them observed their surroundings briefly.

The interior of this building was very quiet.

So quiet that aside from their breathing, no other sounds could be heard.

The dimness caused by the black walls only added to the eerie atmosphere inside the room.

Fortunately, Keke’s reaction was reassuring to the three present.

”Let’s look around.” Xu Ying suggested.

There wasn’t much to see on this level.

This entire floor, with a ceiling height of seven or eight meters, felt quite empty.

In an area of over a hundred square meters, only a peculiar low circular table was placed in the center.

The table was large, round, with a diameter of five or six meters, occupying a decent amount of space, but it was very low, less than half a meter high.

It was about as high as a coffee table.

In this top floor with a ceiling of seven or eight meters, it appeared especially insignificant.

Aside from that, the floor was devoid of anything else.

”This round table looks like something alien invaders would use for a meeting...”

Li Wenxi walked up to the round table and touched it tentatively.

”Huh?”

She murmured in slight surprise, ”It’s still... warm?”

Looking around, all were black walls, nothing worth seeing.

”Let’s check out the lower floors.” Xu Xin suggested, pointing at a ramp in the corner of the wall.

The ramp was actually a staircase connecting the floors used by the alien invaders.

The elevator from before seemed to only move from the top floor to the rooftop, unable to reach other floors.

The elevator exit now was closed, and even by touch, no seam could be felt.

It was entirely a hidden entrance and exit.

”Oh, oh.”

”Okay, let’s go down and take a look.”

The building had a total of four floors.

Only the fourth floor appeared quite dark.

Upon reaching the third floor, it became much brighter.

The walls were no longer pure black but a smooth black-gray color.

The lighting was still reddish, illuminating this floor.

This floor had some small desktops.

They somewhat resembled...

Offices?

But similar to the last floor, there were only tables and nothing else, not even chairs.

But naturally, alien invaders wouldn’t need chairs; perhaps they were more accustomed to standing directly on the ground or crawling onto the tables.

Continuing downward.

The second floor was almost identical to the third floor.

The only slight difference was the positioning of those small independent square tables.

Other than that, there was nothing else.

”Hey, hey, hey... what’s the purpose of this building anyway?” Xu Ying was a bit exasperated.

She had initially thought this should be a control room.

But after seeing the three floors, aside from some very simple ”tables,” there was nothing?

”Don’t worry, there’s still one more floor.” Li Wenxi reassured her.

The three continued downward and reached the first floor.

The first floor was even more excessive.

Aside from the main entrance of the building, it was empty with nothing in it.

”Well...”

Xu Ying was a bit dumbfounded too.

She glanced around, then rolled her eyes slightly and said, ”This place... wasn’t plundered, was it?”

Truly...

It’s so clean even thieves would cry.

Even the tables they saw above were fixed to the floor.

It had to make one wonder if someone had taken everything from the inside.

Anything that could be taken was taken, leaving only those tables fixed to the entire building.

”Uh... did we just waste our time?” Li Wenxi said a little embarrassed.

They had walked so far, bypassed various alien flora, and finally reached the side of this building, and found ways to enter it.

And it was empty inside?

That was a bit comical...

”It shouldn’t be like this...”

Xu Xin felt something was off.

How could this be?

This building was the largest and most prominent in the entire giant ship, positioned right at the front and center, making it stand out at first glance.

This place shouldn’t be so empty?

”Sigh... maybe it really was plundered clean.” Xu Ying sighed and said, ”Outside, those small houses are filled with dead alien invaders, and the stuff there was looted too. It makes sense if this place was looted as well.”

”No, it’s not normal.” Xu Xin frowned and said, ”Don’t forget, those rooms obviously had signs of battle inside.”

The walls were full of claw marks and pockmarked bullet holes and other traces.

There were even some strange odors.

But here, there weren’t any.

The walls were smooth, the floor was clean, the smell was... refreshing.

Completely different from those rooms before.
