Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1423 - 706: Dead for 7 Days Already? (3)

”What’s the matter?”

Xu Xin’s gaze moved away from the alien invader he had bumped into and turned to Xu Ying and Li Wenxi.

”Is this alien invader... already dead?” Li Wenxi asked in shock.

...?

Dead?

Huh?

”Yes, it’s dead.” Xu Ying nodded and lifted several eyelids, ”At least this one is definitely dead.”

”Wait...”

Xu Xin looked around.

Here, there are at least a hundred alien invaders like mush!

”...Are they all dead?” Xu Xin found it hard to believe.

How could alien invaders die so easily?

Their self-healing ability is very strong. Even if only part of their body remains, they can regenerate.

Combined with their advanced technology, Xu Xin had not considered they could be corpses when he saw these intact alien invaders.

He only thought they should be unconscious.

But... dead?

”How do you know?”

Xu Xin immediately walked over.

Soon after, he saw under the eyelids Xu Ying lifted, there were... no pitch-black eyes of the alien invaders.

Instead, it looked like flesh starting to rot.

”These guys must have been dead for a while.” Xu Ying said, ”Although the exterior hasn’t changed much, the body inside is obviously rotten.”

Xu Xin felt the nauseating smell that had been drifting towards his nose since he came down... was even more pungent.

No, it was indeed more pungent.

Because the pungent odor was coming from under the eyelids of the alien invader Xu Ying had lifted.

He realized what this smell was.

Li Wenxi fanned her nose with her hand: ”Is this smell actually the smell of decay...”

The three of them weren’t too afraid.

If it was the corpses of hundreds of humans, there might be some discomfort.

But alien invaders are alien creatures, seeing hundreds of alien invader corpses is similar to seeing hundreds of beast corpses.

When Xu Xin and Li Wenxi were novices, they already showcased their skills during hunting activities, so naturally, such widespread alien invader corpses wouldn’t cause them any physical discomfort.

It’s just that Xu Xin thought about being enveloped by alien invader corpses earlier, and he felt a bit icky mentally.

But...

Mentally, there was some fear.

Why...

are there hundreds of alien invader corpses here?!

This is just too strange, isn’t it?!

Isn’t this supposed to be the giant ship of the alien invaders?

Why are there hundreds of dead alien invaders exposed here?

All three of them were skeptical, and they began to inspect other alien invaders collapsed on the ground.

They got the same result.

All these alien invaders were already dead.

The three felt somewhat speechless.

”Do you think... do you think it was done by that thing?” Li Wenxi speculated.

The ”thing” she was referring to was the monster.

The monster should currently be on this giant ship.

It’s indeed a possibility.

”Impossible.”

Xu Ying directly dismissed Li Wenxi’s guess.

”It can’t be the monster that killed them. Because these alien invaders have been dead for at least seven or eight days.”

Seven or eight days already?

”Are you sure?” Xu Xin raised an objection, ”The bodies of alien invaders are different from ours, you can’t judge by the situation after a human dies.”

”No, I’m inferring based on the condition after alien invaders die.”

Xu Ying explained.

She lifted an alien invader’s eyelid again: ”I originally wanted to kill several alien invaders in this operation, so I asked the monster how to confirm their death.”

”It told me that after an alien invader dies, its eyes turn from black to gray, and then gradually dissolve.”

”It also mentioned that about seven days after death, all the eyes of alien invaders would completely dissolve.”

She looked at the eye socket of the alien invader, then stood up and wiped her hands: ”The eyes of these alien invaders have all dissolved. According to what the monster told me, they’ve been dead for at least seven days.”

”But... seven days?” Li Wenxi asked with some doubt, then looked at the widespread alien invader corpses, ”If it’s been seven days... then this has nothing to do with us, right?”

Seven days ago?

Although they’ve lived in their world tree for several months, but...

Using external time, seven days ago, their world tree hadn’t even matured.

Back then, they were still unaware of the alien invader’s base.

Therefore, these alien invader corpses have nothing to do with them.

”Could these alien invaders have rebelled against that leader, and were killed and dumped here?” Li Wenxi speculated while looking at the corpses.

”These guys might have been rebels among the alien invaders?”

”It’s possible.” Xu Ying somewhat agreed with this view.

But Xu Xin furrowed his brows slightly.

Doesn’t this seem off?

This place is very close to the entrance of the giant ship, right?

As soon as you enter the door, and slide down, you find all these corpses.

If these were the bodies of rebels, they would just dump them after killing. Would they leave them in such an inconvenient place for seven or eight days?

It feels like they hadn’t had time to deal with these corpses...

However... since they’ve been dead for seven days, these corpses have nothing to do with them.

In that case...

”Let’s not worry about these alien invader corpses for now.” Xu Xin said, ”It’s good they’re dead, they won’t be in the way. We should find what we need now.”

”Ying!”

At this moment, Keke jumped out of Xu Xin’s arms.

Xu Xin didn’t catch it.

It jumped over the corpse of an alien invader ahead and ran forward.

”Keke!” Li Wenxi hurriedly called out.

But Keke kept running, almost out of sight.

Xu Xin got a little frustrated.

This little guy is running around again!

This is in the giant ship of the alien invaders!

... Forget it, Keke should know its limits.

If it dares to do this, it means there’s no danger here.

This little one’s very timid; if there were any danger, it wouldn’t dare act like this.

”Let’s follow it!”

”Oh, okay!”

”Is Keke about to find something again?”
