Chapter 1405 - 700: The Invader’s Palace and Trap (Part 3)

Keke discovered danger again!

”Huh?” Although Xu Ying didn’t understand, she immediately froze in place, looked back at Xu Xin and the little fellow in his arms, ”What’s wrong? Has this little fellow discovered something again?”

”There’s danger.”

Xu Xin stepped forward, grabbed Xu Ying’s arm, and pulled her back two steps.

”Danger...?” Xu Ying glanced at the door, ”I suspected there was a trap, but I just planned to take a look inside, not intending to push the door.”

”Eek!” Keke stretched out its little paw and waved.

It meant that there’s danger even in that!

Is there danger just by looking inside?

Currently, Xu Xin and Xu Ying are both wearing invisibility cloaks, which should prevent them from being detected by optical sensors.

Maybe it’s...

A gravity sensor?

Xu Xin looked at the ground.

The area in front of the door was still made of scarlet crystal.

Smooth and emitting relatively soft scarlet light, it looked no different from other areas.

”Is it the ground?” Xu Xin asked the little fellow in his arms.

”Eek!” Keke nodded its little head.

It actually is a gravity sensor...

”A gravity-sensor trap,” Xu Xin said, ”If you had walked over just now, you would have triggered the trap.”

Their invisibility cloaks may not fear optical sensors, but they are vulnerable to gravity sensors.

After all, while these cloaks can erase their presence, their physical weight still remains.

”Gravity-sensor trap?” Xu Ying was slightly shocked, ”Setting up a gravity sensor trap right outside the door...?”

She looked at the ground but couldn’t figure anything out.

”This place is really full of traps...”

Xu Ying couldn’t help but lament, ”To set up a gravity-sensor trap outside the door, this place likely wasn’t meant to be visited frequently since its establishment.”

Indeed.

It’s like putting a landmine outside a door.

Who in their right mind would set a landmine outside the door of their home?

But if this place is a vault, then that’s a different story.

This corridor and the gravity trap outside the door have already informed Xu Xin and Xu Ying that this place itself is... a giant trap meant to lure them in.

Normally, upon seeing a slightly ajar door, they would cautiously probe a bit, inevitably triggering the gravity trap.

The ajar door is also part of the trap!

”It’s only logical that the leader would set traps in front of his vault door,” Xu Ying pursed her lips, ”So, how do we get in... Let me think...”

She didn’t approach the door but started looking for an angle three or four meters away from it.

”What are you doing...”

”I’m looking for an angle, to see if I can view the inside situation.” Xu Ying stopped at a spot and tilted her head to the left, ”If I can see some of it, I can directly teleport us in.”

”Oh... So now you can teleport to anywhere you can see?”

”Of course, as long as there’s no obstacle. Alright!”

Xu Ying had peeked through the door crack, viewing a small area inside.

She grabbed Xu Xin’s arm, ”We can go in.”

”There might be danger inside too,” Xu Xin cautioned.

”Then we just come back out.”

”You can’t teleport continuously, can you?”

”That’s for long-distance teleportation; such a short distance is fine.”

Xu Xin still felt uneasy, rubbing Keke’s ear exposed in his arm, ”Is there danger inside, Keke?”

”Eek...”

Keke couldn’t sense anything.

”Come on, let’s go! Don’t waste time!”

Without waiting for Xu Xin’s agreement, Xu Ying directly teleported him.

Xu Xin suddenly found his vision went dark, and when he reopened his eyes, he was already behind the door.

”Here...”

”This is...” Xu Ying’s eyes widened as she looked at the things before them.

The space inside the door wasn’t large, only about one or two hundred square meters, but the height wasn’t low, close to ten meters.

The entire room was still made of uncompressed scarlet crystal, and the crystal’s glow made the room very bright.

In front of them was a...

Massive machine.

The machine was nearly ten meters high, and looked very familiar.

They had seen it before.

”Isn’t this the machine for handling and storing scarlet crystal?! There’s one here too? And...”

Xu Xin and Xu Ying noticed something next to the machine, a long strip-shaped object over three meters high, covered in thick black cloth.

The shape... somewhat resembled a fake mountain rock.

The black cloth was large, covering something similar in size to a fake mountain rock, with plenty laid flat on the ground.

”What’s under this black cloth?” Xu Ying tugged on Xu Xin’s arm, ”Shall we open it?”

”Take a look at that first,” Xu Xin pointed to the corner of the room.

In the corner, on the ground, was a protruding metal disc.

It seemed very inconspicuous compared to the massive machine and the mysterious object covered in black cloth.

But it drew Xu Xin’s attention.

Because he found it familiar.

”Isn’t this a transmission device!” Xu Ying exclaimed, ”There’s actually a transmission device here... Well, that makes sense.”

The outside door clearly hasn’t been opened for a long time, and the inside door had a gravity trap.

So, how would the owner of this room, the leader alien invader, come here if needed?

Simple, through transmission.

That’s why there’s a transmission device here.

”Yes, it’s slightly different from usual transmission devices.” Xu Ying approached slightly, examining it, ”This transmission device can probably only be used by that leader.”

Then she smiled, ”But now that leader should be fighting on the other side of Earth, right?”

There are still four hours until Ji Chaoyang’s prophecy.

They still have time.

Besides the massive machine, the mysterious object covered in the black cloth, and the transmission device, there was nothing else in the room.

The machine didn’t seem to be operating either.

”Never mind that, I want to see what’s under this black cloth...”

Before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly stopped.

Xu Xin promptly grabbed her arm, retreating several steps, pressing against the room’s wall.

The two saw the transmission device suddenly emit a purplish-black glow!

The transmission device was activated!

”Eek...” Keke shrank directly into Xu Xin’s arms.

”...Yingying, you just said this transmission device might only be usable by the leader, right?”

”Ah... I... I’m guessing.” Xu Ying’s eyes glazed over as she stared at the purplish-black vortex beginning to form in the transmission device.

If her guess was correct, what might be transmitted now is...

Before they could think further, purplish-black light erupted.

The sudden purplish-black glow was far more dazzling than the surrounding scarlet light, making it hard for both to keep their eyes open.

Xu Ying grasped Xu Xin’s wrist. If crisis ensues, she’d transport them away instantly!

When their vision cleared, before them appeared an alien invader.

An alien invader... much larger than the ones they’d encountered before!

This alien invader’s body was huge, not smooth at all, but covered with protruding stripe markings resembling bulging veins, looking terrifying.

And all the eyes on its body were open, with scarlet pupils!

Moreover, unlike other aliens who wore nothing, this one had a scarlet, cloak-like covering on its head with various embellishments, appearing extremely luxurious.

With just a glance, Xu Xin and Xu Ying were certain.

This creature...

Is definitely the alien invaders’ leader!

Sweat burst forth from Xu Xin.

What’s going on?!

This creature actually came back?!

Their World Tree was breached?!

No, the time for Ji Chaoyang’s prophecy is still four hours away?

Does it mean this creature never left at all?

Xu Xin’s eyelid began twitching uncontrollably.

No matter the situation, the circumstances have become extremely dire!
