Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Final Battle at Xingluo Palace After One Month

Master Feng’s eyes bulged as he growled, ”You have no right to speak to me, send your institute master here and I’ll leave at once... and why can’t I compete for him? Perhaps Brother Sikong prefers Wind Dragon Mountain the most?”

Suddenly, Wu Ding’s dark aura violently burst forth, blasting the two men away, ”Stop wasting words, Brother Sikong is someone Dark Dragon Mountain wants. You can all leave now.”

Master Feng erupted in rage, ”Damn it, Wu Ding, are you trying to rob us outright? Don’t think we can’t beat you.”

Following that, several old men fiercely started arguing and then took to the skies, beginning a battle midair.

Sikong Jing curled his lips, finally realizing their true purpose was to recruit him.

It seemed he couldn’t persuade them, so he could only helplessly look towards Xu He and the others, instructing them, ”Senior Brother Xu, after these old men finish fighting, tell them I belong to Drunk Dragon Mountain and won’t be joining any other Holy Dragon Academy.”

Having said that, Sikong Jing flashed away and slipped out of the alley.

Meanwhile, Xu He and the others stood rooted to the spot, completely stunned.

An apprentice’s mouth twitched as he said in a daze, ”Dark Dragon Mountain, Wind Dragon Mountain, Cloud Dragon Mountain, and Fire Dragon Mountain, four great institutes and three institute masters... did we just keep calling them old guys?”

Thump...

One by one, the members of the Da He Association’s legs went weak, and they sat on the ground with faces pale as snow.

There, Sikong Jing made his way to the Task Hall and upon entering, saw Yu Yan.

She seemed to have known Sikong Jing would come and, pointing toward the skirmish of the old men in the sky, asked, ”Junior Brother Sikong, you weren’t hurt, were you?”

With a wry smile, Sikong Jing said, ”No, but the institute masters were a bit overly enthusiastic.”

”Giggle...”

Yu Yan chuckled lightly, ”Of course they’re enthusiastic. Our Sikong Genius is now a talent that every institute wants to court.”

As she said this, Yu Yan’s eyes narrowed into slits.

Defeating the second-in-command of Fire Dragon Mountain and killing Lei Zizhen with a single palm, even now Yu Yan couldn’t stop being shocked.

If Sikong Jing was previously just a Spirit Martial Root able to create Martial Skills, now he was indeed a potential new star, a presence with limitless future potential.

Before long, he would become the first individual in the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace.

Suddenly, Yu Yan sobered up and earnestly said, ”Thank you, Junior Brother Sikong. If it weren’t for you, I might have died.”

In response, Sikong Jing just smiled slightly and shook his head, not taking it to heart.

Then Yu Yan continued, ”Vice Palace Master Qin is waiting for you in the inner hall; I’ll take you there.”

Soon, Sikong Jing entered the inner hall’s room and saw Qin Heng, who had Master Wen Hu at his side.

Upon seeing him, Qin Heng stood up and bowed deeply saying, ”Brother Sikong, I, Qin Heng, formally thank you.”

Sikong Jing’s expression turned serious; he stated it was only right and took a seat.

He knew that since Qin Heng was waiting for him here, there must be something else to discuss.

Qin Heng sat down and immediately asked, ”Do you feel wronged?”

”You’re the biggest hero in settling the disturbance at the Holy Dragon Palace, yet I’ve announced nothing and merely rewarded you with one million points, putting you on the same level as Yisuo.”

Just as mentioned earlier, Qin Heng had simply included Sikong Jing on the rewards list, without giving him any special treatment.

To this, Sikong Jing casually replied, ”It doesn’t bother me.”

He truly didn’t care about such recognition.

Sikong Jing came to the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace to confront Xingluo Palace and also sought a peaceful place for Cultivation. More importantly, if the truth about his sister, Sikong Ling, were to be exposed, he needed the backing of a powerful force.

Staring at Sikong Jing, Qin Heng saw no trace of dissatisfaction in the other’s eyes; he truly didn’t mind.

Such temperance commanded Qin Heng’s admiration...

You should know, even if Sikong Jing now makes any demand, I have to do everything in my power for him.

Taking a deep breath, Qin Heng continued to explain, ”Your situation is too special, especially with the creation of a Beast Skill; add to this the fact that you have offended the Long Night Star Palace, it’s best not to be too conspicuous.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing expressed his understanding.

”There’s another matter of greater urgency, which is that I need you to appear as a trump card in the life-and-death battle against the apprentices of the Xingluo Palace.”

Qin Heng then went on, with an incredibly grave tone.

Slightly stunned, Sikong Jing asked, ”A life-and-death battle with Xingluo Palace?”

”Yes, the conflict between the higher-ups of the two major academies has been suppressed by the masters of the two Main Academies, and the final negotiation result is... to settle the differences through a battle of the apprentices.”

”The two major academies of the Long Night Empire will engage in a life-and-death duel in one month.”

”Each will send out a hundred apprentices, to fight to the death.”

Sikong Jing’s spirit was slightly shocked, but then he calmed down.

This was indeed the best solution, otherwise, if the higher-ups of the two major academies continued to fight, it was feared that there would not be many left alive.

After that, Qin Heng added, ”The loser will have to leave the Long Night Imperial City and seek a new location to establish their palace.”

At those words, a cold light flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes, and he chuckled coldly, ”Long Night Star Palace really has a good scheme; most of their Academy has been destroyed, leaving the Long Night Imperial City might actually be a good thing for them.”

The Long Night Star Palace had been bombed by the Golden Divine Dragon, destroying most of its buildings and leaving an indelible Dragon Seal.

Even if they lost the life-and-death battle, even if they left the Long Night Empire, their loss would not be considered too great.

Conversely, if the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace lost, the loss would be enormous, as the hard-built Qilong Mountain would be handed over to Xingluo Palace.

However, Sikong Jing’s remark made Qin Heng open his mouth wide in astonishment.

”How did you know that the Long Night Star Palace has been mostly destroyed?”

”The large-scale conflict between the two major academies was sparked by Tan Yue being pursued after seeing the destroyed Xingluo Palace.”

”Tan Yue said it was the work of an Ancient Demon Dragon.”

Indeed, it was because Tan Yue witnessed the event that Yu Wenxiong, the Palace Master of the Star Palace, pursued him in order to silence him for the sake of face.

However, Tan Yue was much stronger than Xingluo Palace had anticipated, which led to the escalation of the conflict between the higher-ups of the two major academies, eventually forcing the two Main Academies to intervene and negotiate.

During this time, Tan Yue naturally informed Qin Heng and others of the destruction of the Xingluo Palace.

But with that matter being kept secret by Xingluo Palace and the Holy Dragon Palace having promised during negotiations with the two Main Academies not to spread the word before the life-and-death battle, the outside world had remained unaware until now. So, how did Sikong Jing come to know about it?

After listening to Qin Heng’s explanation, Sikong Jing couldn’t help but twitch the corners of his mouth.

The great conflict between the two major academies had been caused by him.

”Well, what if I told you that the person who destroyed Xingluo Palace was me, would you believe me?” Sikong Jing asked somewhat speechlessly.

Because nobody would believe the story if he told it, Sikong Jing had kept it to himself until now.

But now, it seemed he could try revealing it.

As expected, Qin Heng and Wen Hu’s eyes widened, and if this had been in the past, they would have certainly thought Sikong Jing was bragging, but now, after a series of events, they felt that nothing seemed impossible when it came to Sikong Jing.

Watching the expressions on their faces, Sikong Jing went on to explain gently.

Of course, he wouldn’t say that the Golden Divine Dragon came from his own Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison; he still attributed it to a passing Ancient Demon Dragon that couldn’t stand injustice and with a roar, left a Dragon Seal, destroying the Star Palace...

It also left a mark on him, forcing the Star Palace to not make a move against him, except for the apprentices.

Qin Heng and Wen Hu listened and were completely dumbfounded, and the room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
