Berserk God of War

Chapter 404: Chapter 404: A Fight to the Death, Never Betray

If Sikong Jing had been given the Golden Dragon Token back then, he probably wouldn’t even know about the challenge of the mountain paths right now, and wouldn’t have come to his house to treat him.

Qin Heng felt that his luck was almost defying heaven.

Of course, what was even more defying heaven was Sikong Jing!

”Successfully challenging three mountain paths, Sikong Jing, how did you manage that?” Qin Heng asked dumbfoundedly again, now, he absolutely refused to believe that Sikong Jing was just a Spirit Martial Root, and he suspected it was a failure to detect his real Martial Vein.

Sikong Jing tilted his head and said, ”Actually, I also succeeded in challenging the Dark Dragon Mountain Road!”

Pff...

Upon hearing this, Qin Heng, who had just taken a sip of water, involuntarily spat it out. Four mountain paths... was Sikong Jing trying to scare people to death?

Qin Heng felt that if he were still in a state of severe injury and weakness, he probably could have died from shock.

”Bang bang bang...”

Just as Qin Heng felt his heart couldn’t take much more, the door was suddenly knocked on vehemently.

Outside, an indignant male voice rang out.

”Master Wen Hu, are you inside?”

”Lei Hongteng sent people here, saying that the Holy Dragon meeting is going to start soon, insisting on taking my father with them.”

”They probably want my father to die at the Holy Dragon meeting.”

The person outside was Qin Heng’s son, named Qin Lao.

As soon as he spoke, a cold light flashed in the eyes of the three people in the room.

At that moment, Qin Heng suddenly laid down on the bed and whispered to Wen Hu, ”Tell Xiao Lao that I’m dead, that I’m not breathing... I want everyone from the Lei Hongteng and Holy Dragon Palace to think I’ve actually passed away.”

A flash of cold light crossed Wen Hu’s eyes, and he immediately understood Qin Heng’s intention.

Sikong Jing, of course, also understood Qin Heng’s intention; he intended to feign death to gain a clear understanding of the entire situation at the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace.

Thinking this, Sikong Jing flashed lightly and disappeared from his original spot, going up onto the room’s beam.

Clearly, Qin Heng planned to keep even his son Qin Lao in the dark temporarily, so naturally, he couldn’t stay where he was.

”Bang bang bang...”

The knocking started again, and Qin Lao called out anxiously, ”Master Wen Hu, you need to speak quickly.”

Wen Hu took a deep breath and smeared his face with a layer of ash.

Then, forcing out a few tears, he slowly opened the door.

Staring at the young man outside, Wen Hu said hoarsely, ”Xiao Lao, Vice Palace Master Qin, he just stopped breathing!”

Wham!

Qin Lao trembled violently at the door and then seemed about to collapse on the ground as if the sky had spun and the earth had tilted. Then, he frantically pushed past Wen Hu and rushed into the room, crying, ”Dad, Dad...”

What he saw was Qin Heng lying on the bed, his face resembling that of a dead man, indeed having lost his heartbeat and breathing.

Qin Heng’s realm was formidable, such that even his son could not detect any issues, and thus Qin Lao completely broke down, spiraling into madness, and afterward, only Qin Lao’s crazy cries remained in the entire Qin Family...

A twitch of his mouth showed behind Qin Lao, and Wen Hu felt a bit cruel.

But even though Qin Lao had extremely high Martial Arts Talent, he was too straightforward. He would certainly fail if he had to feign and fool everyone including Lei Hongteng.

As Qin Lao’s heartrending cries filled the air, the entire Qin Family erupted into madness, everyone rushing into Qin Heng’s room.

Then, the cries shook the heavens, and roars abounded!

Simultaneously, the personnel sent by Lei Hongteng outside could hear everything clearly.

The leader among them was the Vice Master of Thunder Dragon Mountain, Lei Hongzha, Lei Hongteng’s brother. He too rushed quickly into Qin Heng’s room and immediately checked Qin Heng’s condition.

With Lei Hongzha’s capabilities, he naturally couldn’t tell that Qin Heng was feigning death, and for a moment, he almost laughed out loud.

But the next moment, Lei Hongzha was violently thrown out by people called by Qin Lao.

”Get out, Lei Hongzha, all of you get out...”

In Qin Heng’s room, there were also a host of loyal elders and masters, among others.

Lei Hongzha and his companions, of course, were no match.

But after being thrown out, Lei Hongzha was not angry in the least; suppressing a smile, he said, ”Vice Palace Master Qin has finally died, died completely... What a pity, how sad, how lamentable!”

”Our Master Lei originally wanted him to preside over the Holy Dragon Conference, but unexpectedly he died at a critical moment.”

”How could he have died? It’s really too regrettable!”

Though his mouth spoke of regret, his eyes were full of mirth; he clearly thought Qin Heng had died at the best possible time.

”Get out, I told you all to get out...”

”I won’t let you off, it’s you all who killed my father.”

Qin Lao glared furiously at Lei Hongzha and everyone from Thunder Dragon Mountain, his eyes a blazing red. If Thunder Dragon Mountain hadn’t sealed their family, how could his father have possibly died?

At least they could have called a doctor, at least they could have clung onto a breath, they could even have taken him to the Holy Dragon General Academy for help.

Qin Lao’s hatred was overflowing, extreme in his madness.

Seeing Qin Lao’s reaction, Lei Hongzha and his companions no longer had any doubts about Qin Heng’s death; they all knew that the lad was straightforward.

”Young Master Lao, don’t talk nonsense; it was clearly Xingluo Palace that killed Vice Palace Master Qin, it has nothing to do with us...”

”Right, everyone present.”

”You all had better attend the upcoming Holy Dragon Conference; otherwise, those who remain here are very likely to encounter a terrible incident, Xingluo Palace might even come to kill you.”

”Gah, gah, gah...”

Having said this, Lei Hongzha weirdly chuckled and turned to leave, while coldness encased everyone inside the Qin residence.

Clearly, Lei Hongzha was threatening them!

If they attended the Holy Dragon Conference, it would prove they wanted to join Lei Hongzha; otherwise, if they continued to stay with the Qin family, to prevent being denounced by Palace Master Shen upon his return, Lei Hongteng would certainly use various means to kill everyone.

Giggle, giggle, giggle...

The loyal followers of Qin Heng inside the Qin residence were gnashing their teeth, each of them at a loss.

With their strength, there was no way they could oppose Lei Hongteng.

And at this moment, Master Wen Hu warned coolly, ”Everybody better think this through, not all the elders of Long Night Saint Dragon Palace have sided with Lei Hongteng, we still have a chance to fight back...”

”Even if there aren’t, we must fight to the death, for young Lao!”

Total determination shone in their eyes, as True Qi loudly burst forth from them; not one left the Qin residence.

These loyal followers would never betray!

Lying on top of a horizontal beam inside the room, Sikong Jing smiled slightly.

It seemed Qin Heng’s prestige within the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace was still formidable; even though he had died, there were still many willing to sacrifice their lives for his son.

So, the stage was set for an interesting drama to unfold.

...

At the same time, in the main hall within Golden Dragon Mountain, the Holy Dragon Conference was officially underway.

At this moment, Lei Hongteng was not sitting in the Vice Palace Master’s seat, but rather in the seat belonging to Thunder Dragon Mountain.

He was clad in a purple robe, a middle-aged muscular man with a few strands of white hair, his entire being seeming to thunder rolling, his presence extraordinary.

Standing next to him was Lei Zizhen, who had lost an arm.

Following were the leaders from Wind Dragon Mountain and Cloud Dragon Mountain and other numerous elders, but those were all that were present for now...

The Institute Master from Dark Dragon Mountain had not arrived.
