Berserk God of War

96: Chapter 096 City Lord 96: Chapter 096 City Lord “Kill!”

A chorus of killing cries emerged from the experts of the Three Great Families.

Of course, there were also the city lord’s guard officers from the entire arena.

Everyone charged at Sikong Jing like a tide, with no one wanting to lag behind.

To behead a criminal and rescue the esteemed guard officer would surely be handsomely rewarded.

Boom…

All of a sudden, a terrifying True Qi that could crush everyone present surged to the sky, and a deep voice echoed throughout the Martial Arts Arena.

“Chu Rongxian, Ren Zhong…

do you take me, Su Zhenglong, for a mere decoration?”

Before Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi stood the figure of Su Zhenglong, exuding the True Qi of the Human Realm Ninth Layer.

He swept his cold gaze across the arena: “Today, I will show you who the true talent of Yunye City is.”

Everyone paused in their steps, staring at Su Zhenglong in disbelief; he was actually at the Human Realm Ninth Layer, and not a trace of serious injury could be seen on his body—terrifying!

“So what if he’s at the Human Realm Ninth Layer?

With so many of us here, killing him would be as easy as slaughtering a chicken!” Ren Zhong said viciously.

They had long been prepared to deal with Su Yue Immortal from the Human Realm Peak.

Now that Su Yue Immortal had not appeared and only Su Zhenglong was present, he was not to be feared—killing him would be the end of it!

The siege’s momentum was not broken, and it continued to press on relentlessly.

Su Zhenglong said gravely: “Ajing, protect Yue Xi and find a way to escape Yunye City.

Leave this to me.”

His voice rose into the air as Su Zhenglong embraced a resolve to lay down his life.

He knew he couldn’t win, so his only option was to hold everyone off, allowing Sikong Jing to take Yue Xi and Xiaofang out of Yunye City.

Boom boom boom…

The battle erupted as Su Zhenglong seized a Big Long Saber, brandishing it mightily in a sweeping strike.

Blood sprayed, and heads fell to the ground!

…

At the same time, in the City Lord Mansion!

A portly middle-aged man was meticulously tending to the flowers in his courtyard.

Behind him stood an old man.

“City Lord, from the sounds coming from the Martial Arts Arena, it seems the Four Great Families have begun their assault on Su Zhenglong,” said the old man.

The plump middle-aged man was none other than the lord of Yunye City, named Duan Chengshan.

He nodded with a smile, not concerned in the slightest.

The old man was the Hall Master of the Patrol Hall, also known as the great tracker of Yunye, and the most trusted person by the city lord’s side.

He continued to question: “City Lord, is it really alright to oppress Su Zhenglong like this in front of the whole city?”

Duan Chengshan paused for a moment, then chuckled shaking his head.

“Xing E, are you getting old and afraid of trouble?”

The old man, named Xing E, was known as the Crocodile in the Patrol Hall, a nickname signifying ferocity and precision.

“Remember, this is just a minor issue.”

“Once Su Zhenglong is dead, soon enough, he’ll be forgotten, and it’s perfect that the criminal gets killed.

He was married by the Lord of Yunzhou; who knows what terrifying background he has.”

“It’s like a sword hanging over my head.

With his death, the trouble disappears.”

“If the Lord of Yunzhou blames us later, we’ll just push the Four Great Families to the forefront, and it will be none of our concern,” Duan Chengshan spoke as if revealing an exceedingly common affair, much like a shrewd fox.

“Moreover, the representative from Chuyunye City for the big competition isn’t one of the Four Great Families, but my son, Duan Chun.

Once he secures a good position, which of those lowly city dwellers will remember today’s events?”

“They will only sing praises to me.”

At this point, Duan Chengshan lowered his head and continued tending to the flower in his hands.

Suddenly, an elderly voice echoed from outside the City Lord Mansion, “City Lord, I am Su Xuefeng, I beg you, please save my children and grandchildren.”

Upon hearing this, Duan Chengshan was startled, somewhat surprised, and then laughed, “It seems that Su Xuefeng is not foolish after all.

Let’s go out and see what he’s relying on to ask for my help for the Su Family, to avoid being exterminated by the Three Great Families.”

Saying so, Duan Chengshan went outside the gates of the City Lord Mansion with Xing E, where they met Su Xuefeng.

“Lord City Lord, it’s extremely urgent.”

“If you are willing to save my children and grandchildren, I am willing to offer three pieces of Green Jade Paper to the Lord City Lord.”

Su Xuefeng didn’t beat around the bush, as he feared it would be too late, and Sikong Jing and others might be killed.

Upon hearing this, Duan Chengshan was stunned, “Three pieces of Green Jade Paper?”

“Exactly, and probably more than just three pieces, there are more treasures.” Su Xuefeng hurriedly explained the reason for the remarkable progress of Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi.

Of course, they were treasures obtained from the Fierce Beast Bandits.

Duan Chengshan’s eyes lit up, and he couldn’t help cursing, “Chou Ye really has some nerve, keeping such good fortune from me.”

Knowing that the criminal had three powerful pieces of Green Jade Paper, Chou Ye didn’t report it to him, which was an outrageous betrayal.

“Someone, prepare my carriage for the Martial Arts Arena.”

Without hesitation, Duan Chengshan made a swift decision, as he had to make the criminal hand over the treasures before killing him.

Su Xuefeng lowered his head with a sinister smile, everything was going according to his plan.

…

In the Martial Arts Arena, Su Zhenglong’s Big Long Saber was slashing out blood, but there were too many adversaries.

The martial experts surrounding him from the Human Realm exceeded ten, too much for one to handle!

“Ajing, quickly take Yue Xi and go…” Su Zhenglong knew this battle spelt certain death and roared repeatedly at Sikong Jing behind him.

At that moment, Sikong Jing seemed to obediently pick up Su Yuexi and step down from the arena.

Seeing this, Su Zhenglong took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, “Ajing, Yue Xi, if you ever see Su Yue Immortal again, tell her for me that daddy loves her very much, just that I can’t apologize to her anymore.”

After saying this, he swung his saber and decapitated a martial expert from the Chu Family.

Sikong Jing was silent, still carrying Su Yuexi as he came to the side of a man dressed in fine clothes, saying, “Sui Yu, call her sister-in-law.”

Sui Yu smiled joyfully and without hesitation said to Su Yuexi, “Greetings, sister-in-law.”

Su Yuexi opened her mouth but only nodded slightly, then anxiously said to Sikong Jing, “Brother Jing, we can’t just abandon dad, we must think of a way… Uh!”

Just as she was speaking, Sikong Jing pressed his fingers to her red lips and replied, “Of course, I would not abandon father-in-law.

But it’s been ten years; many have forgotten father-in-law’s former glory.

It’s time for him to have an exhilarating kill.”

“Ah?”

Su Yuexi looked at Sikong Jing, puzzled.

What did he mean?

“I will go back now and take the heads of the Three Great Families,” Sikong Jing explained with a smile, suddenly holding a Long Spear as he stepped back into the arena, then paused and said, “Sui Yu, if anything happens to your sister-in-law, you will answer for it.”

Sui Yu replied with languid nonchalance, “Don’t worry, big brother.

If anyone dares to touch her, I’ll kill their whole family of men.”

“As for the women, all will be kept.”

Sikong Jing twitched his mouth at that response; this guy was still the same as ever.

But he smiled again, thinking Sui Yu should maintain that spirited character; how could he expect a playboy to change his ways?

Cling!

The Long Spear in Sikong Jing’s hand thrust out, accompanied by a series of thundering sounds, piercing through the arena.

A martial expert from the Chu Family stood abruptly in front of Su Zhenglong as the spear pierced from his head down into the arena, the tip embedding deeply, turning him instantly into a skewered ham!

And with that, Sikong Jing’s figure landed, standing atop the spear shaft.

Looking down at the entire arena, he said, “Father-in-law, I shall take it from here.”
