Berserk God of War

75: Chapter 075: A Sword Startling the Rainbow 75: Chapter 075: A Sword Startling the Rainbow And as the competition was about to begin, the entire arena ignited with excitement.

One spectator inquired, “Who is that woman with the veiled face?”

“You don’t know?

She’s the Su Family’s freak, the ugliest in Yunye City.

It’s said that she doesn’t know martial arts and always bickers with the Su Family head, which is why she was thrown into this grand competition,” someone replied.

The previous spectator was surprised, turning to say, “I heard that this freak has regained her looks, but who knows if it’s true or not.”

“Of course it’s not true.

There’s no way she could have recovered so easily.”

Many around them shared the sentiment that it was just a rumor, believing it impossible for Yunzhou’s ugliest to become beautiful–she just wasn’t fated for such a thing, you know?

However, just then, another deep voice chimed in.

“Of course it’s true.

Su Yuexi is now Yunzhou’s First Beauty.”

Upon hearing this, the crowd turned to look, only to see a tall figure emerge among them, with a chiseled face and eyes sparkling with a fierce light, giving an intimidating presence.

And he, of course, was Sikong Jing, who had returned to the city and rushed to the Martial Arts Arena.

“Are you joking?

If Su Yuexi is Yunzhou’s First Beauty, I’ll do a handstand and eat shit,” the spectator who had called it a rumor said harshly, swearing an oath.

The surrounding crowd laughed scornfully, deeming it an utterly impossible feat.

The number of people who had attended the Su Family’s birthday banquet, compared to the entire Yunye City, was after all a mere drop in the ocean, and very few believed the rumors, dismissing them as laughable impossibilities.

But Sikong Jing was too lazy to argue further; in his eyes, Su Yuexi was not just Yunzhou’s First Beauty, but the most beautiful in all the land.

His piercing gaze was fixed on Su Yuexi in the center of the Martial Arts Arena, full of anticipation for her first battle.

This was not just a fight to shake off the name of ugliness; it was also to build confidence and shed her previous timidity and weakness.

“Both sides prepare, you may begin now,” the City Lord’s Guard Officer ordered.

With this command, Luo Zhi and Su Yuexi stood opposite each other in the arena, the fight on the verge of commencing.

“Surrender, Yuexi, just surrender,” Mei Xiaofang’s voice traveled from below the stage.

But Su Yuexi remained unmoved; she could not possibly surrender.

At that moment, Luo Zhi across from her licked the corner of his mouth and sneered, “Su Yuexi, I didn’t expect my first opponent to be you.

It’s a pity you’re not that criminal husband; otherwise, I would tear him to pieces.”

The towering Luo Zhi had a ferocious look in his eyes, like a massive bear.

Su Yuexi nervously gripped her sword, responding, “You won’t get the chance, and you’re definitely not a match for my Brother Jing.”

Even Su Shan had been killed by Brother Jing; Luo Zhi was just all talk.

In fact, Luo Zhi also knew he was no match for Sikong Jing.

But anger raged within him—his mother had been slapped by that criminal at the Su family’s feast, and this vendetta had to be settled.

If he couldn’t defeat the criminal, surely he could defeat Su Yuexi, right?

“Hmph, did you not hear my father’s words just now?

I’m going to beat you half to death,” Luo Zhi roared, holding a huge Wolf Teeth mace in his hand, swinging it in a sweep towards Su Yuexi.

Mei Xiaofang couldn’t bear to watch from below; compared to the hefty Luo Zhi, Su Yuexi looked like a delicate willow branch.

Would she have any life left after taking that hit?

Su Zhenglong clenched his fists tightly; he too could hardly bear to watch, yet he had to.

“Uncle, every time you’ve rushed out to save that freak.

Now, why don’t you rush up to save her?” Su Yun mockingly taunted, her laughter dripping with sarcasm.

During Yunzhou’s Great Selection, who would dare interfere?

If Su Yuexi took this hit, she wouldn’t die, but she’d be left hanging by half a life.

Whoosh…

Just as Su Yun’s words fell, a roaring sound like a landslide and tsunami filled the venue.

Including Mei Xiaofang and Su Yun, everyone quickly focused on the center of the arena, where, contrary to expectations of being blasted away by the mace, Su Yuexi was seen standing atop Luo Zhi’s Wolf Teeth mace, with her sword extended towards him.

“What just happened?” Su Yun asked, staring with wide eyes.

Su Zhengtao replied in disbelief, “Dark Realm First Level, how could Su Yuexi also be at the Dark Realm First Level?”

That single statement set the entire Su Family ablaze.

Su Xuefeng was stunned, both Su Zhenglong and Mei Xiaofang had their mouths agape, while Su Yun’s face contorted into a snarl.

Why?

It was impossible.

“That ugly freak is actually at the Dark Realm First Level, why didn’t we sense it earlier?”

On the other side, the members of the Chu Family from the Four Great Families showed shocked expressions, and Young Master Chu Bo, who had been forced by Sikong Jing to kneel in the street, had an extremely ugly look on his face, as he had thoughts of personally taking revenge on Su Yuexi.

What’s more, he was number three.

If he won the first match, then it was very likely that his second opponent would be Su Yuexi.

On the other two sides, the members of the Ren and Hai Families were also looking at each other in confusion, as they too had not been able to sense Su Yuexi’s previous realm, which was against common sense.

After all, both Family Heads were experts in the Human Realm.

Only Sikong Jing in the audience seats smiled nonchalantly, this was the power of the “Xuanbing Jade Girl Technique.”

This seemingly Lower Xuan Grade Cultivation Technique had powerful attributes, worthy of being the introductory technique of an ancient sect.

At this moment, not only was the whole arena shocked, Luo Zhi in the ring was also astonished.

He looked at Su Yuexi, who was floating above his Wolf Teeth club, and bellowed, “Get down from there.”

With a burst of True Qi, Su Yuexi couldn’t help but fall down and stumbled a few steps backwards, struggling to regain her footing.

“Go to hell,” Luo Zhi said, upon seeing this, and swung his Wolf Teeth club in a barrage, filling the air with its shadow.

Su Yuexi’s face turned pale, her body constantly flickering into motion.

Each time she just barely avoided the club’s shadow, each time was a narrow escape, fraught with extreme peril.

Down below, Su Zhenglong and Mei Xiaofang tensed up again, this was too dangerous.

Clearly, although Su Yuexi had reached the Dark Realm First Level, her combat experience was far too scant, she was simply no match for others at the same level.

Su Xuefeng also let out a light sigh of relief, he was nearly scared to death, thinking Su Yuexi might actually win…

His gaze couldn’t help but settle on Su Zhenglong, damn, what heaven-defying treasure had that criminal obtained?

To be able to turn the martial arts-ignorant Su Yuexi into a Dark Realm First Level in just seven short days.

We must have it, we must!

Meanwhile, Su Yuexi was sweaty all over, she couldn’t find an opportunity to draw her sword, what should she do?

Brother Jing, what should I do?

Suddenly, as if sensing something, she inexplicably looked towards the audience stands.

There seemed to be a familiar presence there reaching out to her.

Her gaze found a straight figure that stood out distinctly, wasn’t that Brother Jing she’d been thinking about day and night?

“Spiritual Cat Steps, Floating Moon Third Sword…”

Just at that moment, Sikong Jing mouthed the instructions, precisely the moves from the two sets of martial techniques he had given to Su Yuexi.

And Su Yuexi, with a surge of emotional turmoil, felt as if with Brother Jing there, she feared nothing.

Her gaze sharpened and then she did as Sikong Jing said, Spiritual Cat Steps, the Floating Moon Third Sword swiftly flashed out…

Hum!

The Spirit Cat avoided the Wolf Teeth club, and the sword, like a startling rainbow, pierced straight through Luo Zhi’s shoulder, “pfft,” blood splattered, after which Su Yuexi swiftly withdrew her sword and delivered another quick strike, the Floating Moon First Sword, Moon Shadow Tail Strike.

This strike with the force of a sword burst upon Luo Zhi’s head, and with a “wah,” Luo Zhi was swept out of the ring.

He fell heavily outside of the arena.
