Berserk God of War

78: Chapter 078: General Chou, Seeking Death 78: Chapter 078: General Chou, Seeking Death Su Xuefeng wailed miserably, howling loudly.

Suddenly, a ghastly scream pierced the sky as Su Xuefeng cried out wildly.

“Someone come, save me!”

“My unfilial descendants are beating me, an old man, save me, City Lord, come out and save me!”

At this moment, the selection in Yunye City was still underway, with two young people fighting fiercely on the stage.

But the focus of the entire audience had shifted from the stage to the direction of the Su Family, everyone’s expressions excited, as battles in the Human Realm were far more thrilling.

However, it quickly turned into a one-sided beating, the old man being pummeled was truly pitiable.

“Quick, save the old master!”

Only then did the people from the Su Family react and rushed over frantically.

Sikong Jing’s eyebrows raised as he said, “Father-in-law, you keep hitting him, I’ll handle the onlookers.”

With a swift movement, there was a series of thuds…

Apart from Su Xuefeng and Su Zhenglong, none in the Su Family had entered the Human Realm; how could they be a match for Sikong Jing?

Instantly, there was chaos, with endless screams of agony.

After flipping everyone to the ground, Sikong Jing turned back, continuing to join his father-in-law in the vicious beating of Su Xuefeng.

“What are you doing?”

Finally, the people from the City Lord Mansion reacted, led by a middle-aged guard officer, a group hurried over to separate the fighters.

They pulled Sikong Jing and Su Zhenglong aside while helping Su Xuefeng to his feet.

However, while the former two bore no injuries, Su Xuefeng’s face had turned into a pig’s head.

He slurred, “Guard officer, what is the punishment for a child who beats their father?”

He was shaking with rage, pointing at Su Zhenglong and Sikong Jing, his eyes bloodshot.

“Uh…

Our Great Shang Dynasty doesn’t seem to have a law against unfilial conduct,” said the middle-aged guard officer, twitching his mouth.

It was too miserable, Su Xuefeng had been beaten into a pig’s head by his own son and son-in-law, and he was the head of the Su Family, one of the Four Great Families no less, today he might become the laughingstock of the entire city.

“I, I…”

There being no law against unfilial conduct, Su Xuefeng was so angry he felt like exploding.

“Haha, Elder Su, do you need our help with anything?”

Just then, a long laugh echoed, as Chu Rongxian, the Family Head of the Chu Family, approached with narrowed eyes.

Followed by more laughter, people from the two other great families, the Ren Family and the Hai Family, also gathered around to join in the mockery.

Su Xuefeng certainly couldn’t accept their offer of help, but the old face he squeezed might as well be bleeding, it was too damn humiliating.

Clenching his fists, he coldly said, “This is our family affair, we do not need your interference, we’re leaving.”

After a pause, he glared at Su Zhenglong and Sikong Jing, “Rebellious child and grandchild, we shall see!”

And so, the Su Family members, supporting each other, left the Martial Arts Arena.

The three great families’ gaze turned to Su Zhenglong, each leaving with a sneer, having nothing to say to a man they deemed was as good as dead.

In their eyes, Su Zhenglong was merely a deadly poison that would drag down the Su Family.

In a blink, only Sikong Jing and Su Zhenglong along with three others remained on the Su Family side.

At this moment, Su Yuexi ran up and gently grabbed Sikong Jing’s hand, her eyes red but she said nothing.

She was still terrified, having truly thought he had died in Ru Yun Town just a while ago.

“Refreshing, damn refreshing, Master, Ajing, you should have let me slap him too,” Mei Xiaofang laughed heartily, eager to join in the thrashing of Su Xuefeng.

However, Su Zhenglong merely gave a wry smile.

Yes, it was refreshing, but he probably was now going to be labeled the unfilial son by everyone.

The truth was, he did not want things to reach this point.

But kind words had been exhausted, even the mother’s statue was brought out, and even Yue Xi had brought glory to the Su Family, yet it was still not enough.

Su Xuefeng was just that heartless, he even doubted whether he was his own flesh and blood.

“This is bad, with all this commotion, Su Xuefeng might take desperate measures and truly go to Chou Ye to lodge a complaint.” Just at that moment, Mei Xiaofang’s face turned ashen, and she was overcome with fear.

Su Zhenglong’s face also darkened, now they were really in trouble.

Sikong Jing said helplessly, “Those items of mine, they really weren’t taken from the Fierce Beast Bandits.”

Why won’t you believe me?

“Su Yuexi, the second match.”

While Su Zhenglong and his wife were fraught with worry, the hosting guard officer shouted.

Su Yuexi’s mind tensed, and then, under Sikong Jing’s watchful gaze, she stepped onto the stage step by step.

Her opponent was none other than Chu Bo, the eldest young master of the Chu Family, who had also won his first match.

“I concede,” Chu Bo twitched the corners of his mouth and conceded without another word.

With his mere Bright Realm Seventh Layer, how could he fight Su Yuexi?

Then, round after round commenced.

As Su Yuexi fought on, her confidence grew, breezing through her opponents, and she officially entered the top ten of Yunye City.

However, the battle for the top ten would be fought anew in Heaven’s Day.

In the end, three talents representing Yunye City in the competition would be selected.

Just like that, everyone dispersed.

Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi, hand in hand, followed behind the Su Zhenglong couple, leaving the Martial Arts Arena and heading back to the Su Residence.

All along the way, countless spectators turned back to gaze at the woman who once was known as the ugliest in Yunzhou and who now, though not daring to claim the title of Yunzhou’s First Beauty, was undoubtedly one of the beauties, Su Yuexi.

Not only had she become more beautiful, but her martial arts had also reached an exquisite pinnacle.

Then one by one they turned their gaze to Sikong Jing, eyes full of envy, jealousy, and hatred.

This criminal was just too lucky.

…

At the same time, in the Cloud Field City Guard General Mansion, Chou Ye was glaring at the man below and asked, “Are you speaking the truth?

That criminal Sikong Jing secretly hoarded treasures from the Fierce Beast Bandits, three pieces of Green Jade Paper?”

The person below was Su Yang, who had come leaning on a crutch, sent by his grandfather Su Xuefeng to make the accusation.

“Absolutely true.

That criminal got not only three pieces of Green Jade Paper but also two Green Jade Stone Plates, many saw them at the birthday banquet, and he even gave one to the Heavenly Martial Pavilion Master Lu Zhao.”

“Moreover, he might also possess an elixir treasure, for he has reached the Dark Realm.”

“And his wife, Su Yuexi, has not only regained her beauty but also reached the Dark Realm First Level.”

With Su Yang’s explanations, the indignation in Chou Ye’s eyes grew increasingly intense.

Bang!

He slammed his fist down on the table, stood up, and ordered, “Someone, follow me with troops to the Su Residence.”

Hearing this, Su Yang smiled sinisterly.

Su Zhenglong, criminal Sikong Jing, let’s see if you die this time.

Shortly after Chou Ye left with his troops, Old Zhang and Ah Hu also arrived at the City Guard General Mansion.

They were originally given a day off by Chou Ye, but now having reached the Human Realm, they couldn’t resist showing off their new status.

To their surprise, they found the General Mansion eerily empty, only a few on-duty personnel remained, to whom they quickly inquired.

“Are the two Generals not aware?

That criminal Sikong Jing has been found secretly hoarding war booty from the Fierce Beast Bandits.

General Chou is furious and has led troops to attack the Su Residence,” one of the staff members informed them.

Upon hearing this, Old Zhang and Ah Hu exchanged a glance, their faces changing dramatically before they dashed towards the Su Residence without looking back.

General Chou, this is courting death!
