Berserk God of War

74: Chapter 074 Su Yuexi, Number One 74: Chapter 074 Su Yuexi, Number One Seven days ago, Su Xuefeng threatened Su Yuexi’s family into handing over the Green Jade Paper by claiming he would file a complaint with General Chou Ye.

They believed all of Sikong Jing’s treasures were obtained by concealing them from General Chou Ye and taking them from the corpses of the Fierce Beast Bandits group.

If they filed a complaint with Chou Ye, Sikong Jing, the criminal, would be left with no place to be buried.

At that time, Su Xuefeng even made a fierce statement that he must obtain a piece of Green Jade Paper from them before the grand competition selection.

Last night Mei Xiaofang was incredibly anxious at home, yet she did not wait for Su Xuefeng to come with people to take it; unexpectedly, that old thing was actually demanding it right before the start of the grand competition selection.

Su Yuexi bit her lip, staring at Su Xuefeng, “Grandfather, Sikong Jing said that the Green Jade Paper did not come from the Fierce Beast Bandits, and we don’t need to hand it over to you.”

She clenched her teeth, firmly believing in what Sikong Jing had said.

“Ugly freak, now that you have a husband, you have the audacity, don’t you?

Do you believe we will file a complaint with General Chou Ye right now?” Su Yun stepped out from behind Su Xuefeng, still referring to Su Yuexi as the ugly freak.

Even if Su Yuexi was now more beautiful, in Su Yun’s heart, she was still the ugly freak.

Su Yuexi clenched her fists and remained silent, her gaze resolute.

At this moment, Su Xuefeng spoke again, “Yuexi, no matter what, I’m still your grandfather, isn’t it only right that you present the Green Jade Paper to me as a token of filial piety?

I only want one piece.”

As he said this, he looked at Su Yuexi with a smile, putting on a kind expression.

But Mei Xiaofang almost gagged, she wouldn’t show filial respect to him.

However, with the handle in their hands, how could she dare to curse him out?

She could only look at her daughter and say, “Yuexi, perhaps…”

Suddenly, Su Yuexi firmly said, “Grandfather, I will soon fight for the Su Family.

If I lose, it proves that I am not qualified to have the Green Jade Paper, and I will hand them all over to you.”

“If I win the next match, please stop making things difficult for us, agreed?”

Su Yuexi’s gaze was determined; this was the only solution she could think of.

She didn’t want to hand over the Green Jade Paper, but she also feared that grandfather would continue to hassle them, causing her father to burst out with True Qi again.

That would worsen her father’s injury.

Su Yuexi was very afraid that the situation from seven days ago would repeat itself.

And after seven days of Cultivation, Su Yuexi was confident that she could at least win one match.

“You, a good-for-nothing ugly freak, think you can win?” Hearing this, Su Yun couldn’t help but laugh mockingly.

However, Su Xuefeng immediately stopped her, continuing kindly, “You’re right, how could a grandfather forcefully take his granddaughter’s possessions?

Alright, as long as you win one match, I will no longer trouble you.”

He readily agreed, while beside him, Su Zhengtao also held back Su Yun, his face full of smiles.

How could Su Yuexi possibly win a match?

She doesn’t even know Martial Arts, she doesn’t even have a bit of True Qi, how could she possibly win?

Since they could get all three Green Jade Papers without having to confront Su Zhenglong head-on, why wouldn’t they be willing?

“If I win a match, I also ask that grandfather no longer be so harsh to our family in the future, and I will do my utmost to fight for the Su Family,” Su Yuexi stated, still staring at Su Xuefeng.

And Su Xuefeng’s response was very straightforward.

“No problem, as you wish.”

“When the time comes, I won’t just stop asking for your Green Jade Papers; I will also restore all the treatments you had in the family.”

Upon hearing this, Su Zhenglong exclaimed with wide eyes, “Are these words true?”

To which, Su Xuefeng replied very unhappily, “As if I’m your son, when have I ever not meant what I said?”

No sooner had these words fallen, a guard officer from the City Lord Mansion stood out in the Martial Arts Arena, loudly announcing the start of the selection.

Then he announced the start of the drawing lots, inviting all young talents participating in the selection to enter the center of the Martial Arts Arena.

“Father, Mother, I’m going up.”

Su Yuexi clasped a sword in her hand and stepped toward the center of the Martial Arts Arena, her gaze more determined than it had ever been before.

She must win this match no matter what, for herself and for her family.

And for Grandfather’s promise.

But why hadn’t Brother Jing come back yet?

Could he possibly not make it back in time to watch her first match?

As these thoughts silently filled her mind, Su Yuexi had already reached the center of the Martial Arts Arena.

She reported her name and drew a piece of Green Jade Paper from the box—when she unfolded it, she was stunned to see the number one.

That meant she would be the first one to enter the stage.

“Who has the number one?”

Just then, a domineering voice echoed from among the contestants.

Su Yuexi instinctively looked over and saw a tall man shaking the paper in his hand, angrily surveying his surroundings.

And on his paper was the number two.

That meant he was her opponent for the first match.

Su Yuexi suddenly felt an inexplicable surge of nervousness.

She didn’t respond but gripped the sword in her hand tightly.

At this moment, Su Yun from the Su Family chuckled lightly, “Isn’t that simpleton Luo Tong’s son, Luo Zhi?”

“Luo Tong often boasts about his son reaching the Dark Realm First Level, terribly formidable.

I wonder which unlucky soul drew the number one, to be taken down in the first match.”

To this, Su Xuefeng showed little concern; what did he care about a second-rate Family Head like Luo Tong?

He was now fantasizing what amazing Martial Arts skills the three pieces of Green Jade Paper would be once Su Yuexi lost.

The Su Zhenglong couple also didn’t pay attention to Luo Zhi; their only concern was what number Yue Xi had drawn, and who the opponent would be.

They prayed silently that it would be someone who was just there to make up numbers, like Yue Xi.

In their eyes, although their daughter Su Yuexi had been practicing the sword desperately for the past seven days, how could it be so easy?

What significant progress could she possibly make in just seven days?

If she went up, she was sure to lose.

Unless she encountered someone even less significant, preferably an even more fragile woman.

At that moment, a guard officer from the City Lord Mansion declared, “The drawing of lots is complete.

Number one and number two, please remain.

The rest may leave the stage and await your turns.”

The contestants scattered with a clamor, leaving only number two’s Luo Zhi and number one’s Su Yuexi.

Just then, Mei Xiaofang from the Su Family called out, “Yue Xi, why are you still foolishly standing up there?

Come down quickly.”

Su Yuexi trembled slightly and returned to her senses, “Mother, I am number one.”

“What?”

Mei Xiaofang stared in disbelief, and Su Zhenglong’s expression grew ugly as his eyes widened.

This was a big problem.

In his youth, Su Zhenglong had beaten Luo Tong so badly that even his mother couldn’t recognize him, and merely seven days ago, Luo Tong’s wife had been slapped by Sikong Jing.

It would be strange if Luo Zhi let Su Yuexi off easily.

“Hahaha…”

Just then, Su Yun’s laughter burst out, “You ugly freak, you really are unlucky.”

Su Xuefeng and Su Zhengtao exchanged glances, their faces beaming with smiles.

The three pieces of Green Jade Paper and Sikong Jing’s most treasured secret weapons would soon be in their possession.

They had been a bit worried earlier, afraid that Su Zhenglong had come up with some miraculous method to suddenly enhance Su Yuexi’s capabilities.

But now, those worries were completely dispelled.

Even if Su Yuexi rode atop the Divine Dragon, it would be impossible for her to defeat someone from the Dark Realm in just seven days.

“Luo Zhi, the girl before you is Su Zhenglong’s daughter; I want you to beat her half to death,” Luo Tong’s voice also rose in the arena, both triumphant and exhilarating.
