Berserk God of War

80: Chapter 080 Our Well-Intentioned Efforts 80: Chapter 080 Our Well-Intentioned Efforts Which side are you on?

Ah Hu and Old Zhang exchanged glances.

Suddenly, they simultaneously let go of Chou Ye’s arms and then turned to Sikong Jing, kneeling on one knee and said, “If General Chou insists on pushing Brother Sikong, then we are on Brother Sikong’s side.”

As soon as their words ended, they abruptly stood up, and two streams of Human Realm True Qi erupted, their fists clenched tight.

The inherent pressure of the Earth-shattering Dragon Fist aimed directly at Chou Ye.

Su Zhenglong and Mei Xiaofang looked at each other, their faces blank, wondering when Sikong Jing had conquered the two Generals.

On the other side, Su Xuefeng was startled, what was happening?

Thus, the soldiers of the City Guard General Mansion were also stunned, their grips on their swords wobbling, as they looked at Chou Ye in confusion.

Ah Hu and Old Zhang were their Commanders, were they really going to turn their blades against their own leaders?

Chou Ye was rooted to the spot in shock, staring incredulously at the two men.

He slowly stretched out his finger, pointing continuously at Old Zhang and Ah Hu, his voice quivering as he said, “You are courting death, rebelling against heaven…

Attack, kill these two traitors for me.”

Chou Ye felt like his heart was going to burst.

He couldn’t fathom why his two capable subordinates had suddenly gone mad.

The corners of the City Guard soldiers’ mouths twitched, were they really going to attack?

“Aren’t you attacking yet, or are you all planning to rebel too?” Chou Ye roared.

Finally, a few of Chou Ye’s trusted followers took the lead in attacking, and seeing this, the others had no choice but to join reluctantly.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu glanced at Sikong Jing.

Seeing his calm expression and that he hadn’t spoken, their hearts trembled a little, realizing that he did indeed intend for them to confront Chou Ye.

Without weighing the pros and cons any further, Old Zhang and Ah Hu charged forward, unleashing the Earth-shattering Dragon Fist.

One fist for each, several of Chou Ye’s close followers were sent flying, and then it was one punch for several, bang, bang, bang…

Wails of agony echoed through Su Zhenglong’s courtyard.

The two of them faced the City Guard soldiers like bulldozers, unmatched by anyone.

Chou Ye was dumbfounded again.

When had these two become so strong?

Even reaching the Human Realm shouldn’t account for this.

The City Guard soldiers, who already lacked the will to fight, were completely scattered by the eruption, retreating endlessly.

In an instant, there wasn’t a single one left standing around Old Zhang and Ah Hu.

“You two bastards, I’ll kill you.”

At this point, Chou Ye could no longer hold back and charged forward himself.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu exchanged another glance.

If they actually fought the General, things would probably get quite complicated.

Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of the two men.

It was Sikong Jing.

Then, they saw him deliver another slap.

Chou Ye, with his furious momentum, was struck crisply on the face and spun through the air, landing heavily on the ground with a thump.

Covering his face as he got up, Chou Ye felt like he was going insane.

This was the second slap.

Just as he was prepared to fight to the death, Sikong Jing’s voice faintly rang out, “My two old brothers, you both know the full story about the Fierce Beast Bandits.

If Chou Ye remains obstinate, then you can take the matter higher.”

At these words, Chou Ye’s body jerked to a halt, staring fixedly at the three men before him.

He had stolen the credit for dealing with the Fierce Beast Bandits from Sikong Jing, and both Old Zhang and Ah Hu had been present.

If they reported this with their status, he would be done for.

Upon hearing this, Old Zhang could only give a bitter smile.

“General, let’s settle this peacefully.”

“Yeah, General, escalating this won’t do anyone any good,” Ah Hu added his persuasion.

“You, you…”

Chou Ye’s face contorted as though it was going to split, he yelled maniacally, “What benefits has this criminal given you?”

He just couldn’t understand it – how had they flipped sides just after surveilling this criminal for seven days?

Benefits?

It’s the Earth-shattering Dragon Fist, of course.

And as you saw, seven days ago it was impossible for us to turn the tables like we did today.

However, they didn’t want to explain too much and let Old Zhang respond in a low voice, “We’re all doing it for the General’s sake, General, please don’t misunderstand our good intentions.”

Damn, I was slapped twice by this criminal, and they still say it’s for my own good.

Who can I even talk to about this?

“Fine, fine, fine, this won’t be the end of it, and you two need not return to the General Mansion either.”

Chou Ye had no other options.

Old Zhang and Ah Hu used the threat of reporting him to the authorities to corner him, what else could he do?

All he could do was wait until he got back and figure out some other plan.

After dropping his harsh words, Chou Ye couldn’t be bothered to even say goodbye to Su Xuefeng and left with his soldiers in tow.

In the blink of an eye, apart from their family and the two Generals, Su Xuefeng was the only person left standing alone in Su Zhenglong’s courtyard.

His lips twitched, wondering how even Chou Ye could slink away in defeat?

“You old fool, what are you still standing there for?

Hurry back and apply some medicine,” Mei Xiaofang said, still a bit confused, but she wouldn’t miss an opportunity to take a jab at Su Xuefeng.

“Daring to hit General Chou Ye, you’re all as good as dead,” Su Xuefeng could only leave behind a threat before departing.

In the courtyard, Su Zhenglong exhaled deeply, bowed with his hands clasped towards Old Zhang and Ah Hu, “Generals, we owe you a great debt for upholding justice this time; otherwise, we would have had a difficult time getting through today’s ordeal.”

The two Generals returned the gesture, with Ah Hu saying, “It’s what we should do.

Brother Sikong is our benefactor.”

Hearing this, Su Zhenglong glanced at Sikong Jing and quickly offered a few polite words.

At this moment, Su Yuexi suddenly asked, “Generals, now that you can’t return to the General Mansion, what are you going to do?”

Having seen them help her family, Su Yuexi was quite worried about their future.

Old Zhang laughed and replied, “Just because Chou Ye told us not to go doesn’t mean we won’t go.

Our ranks weren’t appointed by him—to dismiss us, they’d need orders from Yunzhou.”

“Exactly, Sister-in-law Sikong needn’t worry,” Ah Hu added with a laugh.

After that, they turned towards Sikong Jing, ready to say their farewells.

At that moment, Sikong Jing spoke up, “Thank you for what just happened.

Wait for me at the Heavenly Martial Pavilion, I’ll give you something.”

Upon hearing this, they both trembled and thanked him profusely.

Then, they left with arms over each other’s shoulders.

Sikong Jing watched their retreating figures and smiled faintly.

Although he didn’t need them to deal with Chou Ye with ease, that would have brought more trouble, and he was grateful for their intervention.

At the Heavenly Martial Pavilion, he planned to present them with even more powerful martial arts.

Though things might not go so smoothly for them in the General Mansion, as long as they grew stronger, they could handle anything.

“Ajing, how did you end up becoming a benefactor to the two Generals on this trip outside the city?”

Now that only their family was left, Su Zhenglong asked curiously.

Sikong Jing laughed and answered, “I’m a man with a criminal record.

Chou Ye sent them to keep an eye on me, and if it wasn’t for me, they would have been dead after the massacre at the two big merchant firms.”

He said it lightly, with no intention of elaborating further.

“Truly people who know gratitude.

Even in the City Guard General Mansion, there are those with a sense of justice,” Mei Xiaofang couldn’t help but exclaim.

A corner of Sikong Jing’s mouth twitched.

You used to say Chou Ye was a good person, see the truth now?

But naturally, Sikong Jing wouldn’t call her out on this.

People who were tough-talking usually had a lot of pride.

Smiling again, he said, “Father-in-law, let’s go inside.

I have brought you a gift this time.”

They entered the house, and when Su Zhenglong saw the gift Sikong Jing had brought, he was stunned.

It was the Flowing Cloud Flying Squirrel!
