Shunjue TiandikuanMany days had passed since Lin Yuan sent his improvement suggestions for the AI large language model to DS Company via GitHub.

Finally, one day, Lin Yuan received a private message in his GitHub backend.

He had a premonition that it wouldn’t be an ordinary private message. This was because his anonymous alt account had never followed any projects, never participated in any projects, and never submitted any code.

Therefore, his anonymous alt account was completely transparent. If someone sent a private message to this alt account, there must be a reason.

As expected, when Lin Yuan opened it, the private message was from DS Company’s account.

”Thank you for your generous proposal. Our company’s parent company is a financial industry enterprise, which you may already know.

What we want to say is that we have already deeply optimized the structure of our large language model based on the inference model, following your suggested approach.

Furthermore, we will open-source and release V3 within this week, with subsequent intensive and continuous update iterations planned.

Confident in our AI training computational power consumption, we believe that the current inference-based training mode will have a significant advantage in computational power expenditure. Considering the exchange rate difference (the exchange rate difference between Dragon Country currency and USD), the R&D costs of both sides already have a significant efficiency gap due to the exchange rate difference.

With these two factors combined, we believe that the model we are about to release, while achieving the performance of international first-tier AI large language models, will have its training cost reduced to below 10% of the cost announced by ChatGPT. And this is still our conservative estimate.

As mentioned earlier, our parent company is engaged in the financial industry.

We do not know if you still have a desire for money, since you have gratuitously gifted such important innovative ideas to our little-known company. We speculate that you have long lost interest in money, and you must have a more long-term and noble pursuit...”

Seeing this, Lin Yuan couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. He couldn’t resist showing off to Zhang Yan, ”Look, they think I’m indifferent to fame and fortune.”

Zhang Yan feigned sarcasm, ”They thought you were trying to advance human AI, but you just wanted to vent and make some extra money. Lin Yuan, you’re truly a scoundrel.

Look at you now, what’s the difference between you and a scumbag who deceives people’s feelings?”

Lin Yuan was speechless for a moment, not because of the current situation, but because Zhang Yan’s words made him associate.

He thought of Xia Ye, ’What would she be doing right now?’

Once, Lin Yuan had seriously considered spending his life with Xia Ye. But now, he had, in fact, truly pushed her away.

Sometimes Lin Yuan would feel bewildered, whether his separation from Xia Ye was due to helplessness after his own safety issues, or if it was what he had secretly wished for all along. Perhaps he had always wanted to find a place to keep Xia Ye like a kept woman.

”What’s wrong?” Zhang Yan saw Lin Yuan spaced out and asked, ”You... you shouldn’t be so fragile that my two sentences make you emo.”

”What do you mean? Am I that sensitive?” Lin Yuan quickly returned to his normal expression.

”Then what was that expression just now?”

”I just thought of Xia Ye. I really am a scumbag.”

”Hmm~~, although you’re a scumbag, you’re honest. Since you’re so honest today, confess truthfully, have you been thinking about Song Xiaoxiao for a long time?”

”No, I haven’t.”

”It’s fine if you are. That girl always looks at you with eyes that say she’s been waiting a thousand years.”

”Really?”

”Women are the best judges of other women.”

”Then wouldn’t I be holding her back?”

”Heh heh~~, Lin Yuan, your Dao Heart is wavering. Never mind, your Dao Heart hasn’t been firm for a day or two. I never dreamed that I would be so magnanimous one day.

But thinking about it carefully, if you weren’t a bit of a jerk in these matters, I’d always feel like you weren’t real.

My father often said that people, being born of the earth, are always a mix of good and bad. Where there are many virtues, there will be no shortage of flaws. Otherwise, it’s not real, there’s a concealment.

But look at you, you don’t smoke or drink, and you don’t have any bad habits. As for money, you like it, but you don’t value it that much.

The most fatal thing is that your idealistic nature, mixed with worldly concerns, always gives me a sense of stability and longing, like reaching for the moon from a high mountain. I never thought before that ideals and reality could combine so perfectly.

So if such a good you keeps being so good, it will make me feel unreal, even a little creepy.”

”Creepy?” Lin Yuan was stunned, ”What are you talking about? Me being too good makes you feel creepy?”

”Yes, because I’m not good enough. You’re as good as an immortal, but I’m a mortal. Immortals and mortals walk different paths, so wouldn’t I have to pull you down and trap you in the mortal world?

So now I have a desire for you to be a little bad, but I don’t want you to be too bad.

So let’s make a deal, can your bad intentions stop with Song Xiaoxiao? A mahjong table is enough, don’t add more people, okay?”

Lin Yuan was a bit confused, ”I haven’t even thought about having you and Xia Ye live under the same roof, where did you get that idea?”

”We’ll see each other whether we look up or down. Instead of hiding it, it’s better to put it out in the open. I, Zhang Yan, won’t do the foolish thing of burying my head in the sand. My father said that if you can’t stop it, then retreat to advance and build a strong defense line.”

”Uh~~, your father is truly an old man who sees things clearly.”

”Of course! After this period of sensitivity passes, I’ll talk to you, Xia Ye, and Song Xiaoxiao. I’ll be generous, anyway, the two of them combined aren’t enough for me to handle, so it’ll just be like having two more maidservants.”

Perspective! That was the word that instantly popped into Lin Yuan’s mind.

”I didn’t expect you to have such perspective towards me too.”

”Wrong! Not towards you, but towards myself. To make the dog I raised obedient, I have to coax him well.”

”I’m the dog you raised?”

”I can only comfort myself that way.”

”Woof woof~~” Lin Yuan cooperated by barking twice. After all, for a girl of Zhang Yan’s background to actively consider things to this extent for him, Lin Yuan himself felt a bit embarrassed.

”Senior Brother, I’m sorry.”

”What’s wrong?” Faced with Zhang Yan’s sudden apology, Lin Yuan was somewhat at a loss.

”I don’t have the courage to uphold something noble with you. In our interactions, I was the first to give up. I didn’t have the courage to bet that you would only have me, physically and emotionally, for your entire life. So I set up a breakwater for myself in advance.”

”Do our conversations have to be so blunt?”

”I’ve already done it, so what’s there to be afraid of saying? I ultimately followed my father’s advice. If I had persisted, perhaps you really could have stopped before the Song Xiaoxiao line, perhaps you really could have spent your life with me so calmly.

Then Xia Ye could be seen as your past before you met me.

Our relationship could have truly been clear, pure, and unadulterated for a lifetime.

But honestly, I don’t have much confidence in that. Because you’re too good.

So I encouraged you to be a scumbag.”

Lin Yuan carefully chewed on her words, ”When a scumbag thought arises, the world feels wide open. It’s not so bad.”

”Oh right, I don’t think I’ve finished reading the private message they sent me~~”
