Big reconciliationLin Yuan’s slogan, ”The popularization of new technologies in the tertiary industry must be approached with caution,” quickly sparked a widespread social discussion.

Originally, Lin Yuan wouldn’t have dared to propose such a topic against the general consensus, because although the ”Three Lucky Treasures” (security guards, nannies, and cleaners) served as a job reservoir and actually absorbed a large amount of employment, the practitioners in these fields often had meager incomes.

The reason for this is simple: the ”Three Lucky Treasures”—security guards, nannies, and cleaners—as well as delivery and takeout services, are all jobs with almost no skill barrier. And with Dragon Country still having a large population and fierce internal competition, jobs with low skill barriers naturally won’t yield high incomes.

This is determined by the objective principles of this world, because resources do not appear out of thin air. To make every person in Dragon Country live comfortably and contentedly requires a long process of strategic competition with other countries.

It was precisely because of this contradiction that Lin Yuan originally didn’t dare to propose his slogan. Proposing it rashly would have an adverse effect, like adding fuel to the fire—it would make many people feel that being able to work in the ”Three Lucky Treasures” was already a blessing.

Because the consequence of popularizing new technologies in the tertiary industry is that these people would lose even the right to be exploited, meaning they wouldn’t even have the jobs of the ”Three Lucky Treasures” left to do.

Isn’t that the feeling of taking away the frozen, hard bun someone is already gnawing on? As if this broken bun in their hand was a gift?

So why did Lin Yuan ultimately propose this slogan?

Because of the saying, ”God helps those who help themselves.” This applies to individuals, and it seems to apply to nations as well.

During the Spring Festival of the 2025 Year of the Snake, The Other Shore provided an assist—with TT being blocked, a group of foreigners inexplicably flooded into Xiaohongshu, and then the ”kitchen accounts” began.

Then, the narratives of study abroad and immigration agencies became unsustainable, because everyone was surprised to discover: The Other Shore was practically a hellish mode!

Many people online joked: In this corner, as long as you don’t touch gambling or drugs, if you live alone, an income of 3,000 a month can make you feel incredibly good. In The Other Shore, the proportion of basic living expenses for housing, medical care, and elder care is too high.

In short: here, people face living problems; in The Other Shore, people face survival problems.

What surprised Lin Yuan about this ”accounting” was not the result of the accounting, but the act of accounting itself. Even without it, Lin Yuan could analyze the living conditions of ordinary people in The Other Shore from publicly available data on the internet.

However, the internet age is like this: even though data is publicly available online and there are sufficient methods to analyze and determine the accuracy of the data, most people are still more willing to believe the firsthand accounts of those directly involved in the events.

In fact, from the perspective of cultural tradition, one should understand that in The Other Shore’s cultural tradition, the upper echelons have no responsibility towards the grassroots.

If this side is a parent-child relationship, then The Other Shore is a property management-owner relationship.

If a child disobeys, a parent can discipline them. At the same time, parents absolutely cannot let their children starve to death, otherwise they lose the right to guardianship over their children.

However, between property management and owners, there is only a contractual relationship. The mutual rights and responsibilities of both parties are written in the contract. As for assistance, it is naturally outside the scope of the contract. Owners who cannot survive cannot expect property management to provide them with food.

When the owners of The Other Shore initially drafted the ”Community Property Management Regulations,” their greatest fear was that the property management would become too powerful and threaten the owners. Therefore, granting property management the right to assist owners? What a joke, if they have the power to assist me today, tomorrow they will have the power to kill me.

It’s just that the owners of The Other Shore never expected that after the property management colluded with a small number of owners, a terrifying monster was born. Because this colluding entity had a large amount of interests outside of its own community, it no longer focused on the development of its own community, and thus most of the owners in this community were done for.

In fact, for the current colluding entity, most of the owners in this community have become consumables. To compensate for the lack of consumables, they have to open up their community to outsiders, and thus batches of consumables stream in.

However, even though this community has a large number of outsiders every year, the total population of the community has never significantly increased. It’s truly miraculous!!!

From this logic, one should also understand the fate of most of the outsiders who enter that community.

Of course, there are exceptions to everything in the world. For example, regarding assistance, that community is not entirely without assistance; it often distributes some harsh food that prevents people from starving to death in various places. However, this does not mean that the nature of that community’s property management has changed, because such assistance, whether in scope or intent, is not aimed at solving problems.

If it were truly for solving problems, there wouldn’t be so many people needing assistance.

This type of assistance is actually a cover-up after problems have arisen, to prevent the problems from appearing too unsightly. Simply put, it’s just for show, to alleviate superficial issues and give people the impression that ”we are already trying hard.”

It was precisely because of this year-end ”accounting” that the public was finally educated by reality—this is a world full of competition; an ideal country will not appear out of thin air.

With this psychological groundwork, Lin Yuan could formally propose his slogan.

The original intention of his slogan was to curb the disorderly development of technology and leave room for the livelihoods of ordinary people.

This ”accounting” will also serve as a ”catalyst.”

Among the onlookers, there will always be curious people who delve deeper. If they consult the material (materials), they will discover that The Other Shore once truly approached an ideal country so closely. There, one person could truly support an entire family, while also living in a large villa and driving a small car.

So why has it become like this now? If they are further curious, if they understand some rules of material conservation, they will pay attention to the lives of people in other parts of the world at that time.

Ultimately, people will return to a simple question—where do products come from?

Money is merely a tool for trading products; people’s lives ultimately depend on tangible goods.

This simple question is: if the total output value on Earth doesn’t change much, then the people on the entire Earth are essentially in a large zero-sum game. If some people eat more, others must eat less.

So, during the years when The Other Shore ate more, who was eating less? And now, who is eating more and who is eating less?

Thus, a thought will emerge in everyone’s mind: when it is already very difficult to make the cake bigger, perhaps distribution is the most core issue.

Of course, Lin Yuan believes that for Dragon Country at present, there is still a lot of room to make the cake bigger. Because in his opinion, there are still many places in production and life where technology can be applied. The appropriate application of technology can make this cake much larger, but in this process, it is essential to pay attention: do not let technology affect the balance of distribution while making the cake bigger.
