Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 1611: Chapter 603: Dating a Mature Woman Is Just Too...

Zhang Jingdong looked at Zhang Lihua, who appeared utterly surprised, and he reached out with a smile: ”Give me the phone, let me say a few words to your good friend.”

Zhang Lihua paused for a moment before handing over the cellphone to him.

Zhang Jingdong took the cellphone and said: ”Hello, I’m Zhang Jingdong, the boss of Dongsheng Group you just mentioned.”

”Wha...what? You are...Boss Zhang?”

”Is the person in charge of the Jinglan Garden project Wang Tao and Liu Zongheng? If you don’t believe me, I can give you their phone numbers right now, and you can call them to verify.”

”...No...no need, since you can name President Wang and Mr. Liu, and you’re with Lihua right now, I trust you!”

”Alright, since you’re a good friend of Lihua’s, how about this: I’ll have President Wang assess your renovation company’s situation. If your company is fine in terms of qualifications and strength, we’ll go ahead and choose your company.”

”Is this...true? That’s wonderful! No problem, no problem... Thank you, Boss Zhang!”

”You don’t need to thank me. If you really want to thank someone, thank Lihua. I’m returning the cellphone to her.”

With that, Zhang Jingdong handed the cellphone back to Zhang Lihua.

As soon as Zhang Lihua received the cellphone, Liu Chunling’s ecstatic voice rang out: ”Lihua, you really are the greatest blessing of my life, my benefactor. Knowing you is the luckiest thing that’s happened to me!”

”You know, we’ve been busy for over a month for this bid and had no confidence at all, and I never imagined you actually knew Boss Zhang. Lihua, I really love you to bits!”

Zhang Lihua’s feelings right now were extremely complex.

She was surprised that Zhang Jingdong truly was the big boss of Dongsheng Group. She was also torn on whether she should owe him a favor because of her friend. At the same time, listening to Liu Chunling’s extremely excited voice, she didn’t want to dampen her mood.

Thus, she hesitated for a moment, then said: ”Alright, Lingling, let’s leave it at this for now. I’ll call you later.”

Liu Chunling finally came to her senses, quickly regaining her composure.

”Okay, okay... I won’t disturb you and Boss Zhang then. Let’s call another day when you have time. Bye-bye, love you!”

She then promptly hung up the phone.

Although Zhang Lihua knew Liu Chunling wouldn’t misunderstand her relationship with Zhang Jingdong, the current situation undeniably suggested that’s exactly what it might be.

Looking at the disconnected phone call, a self-deprecating smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

She then turned her head to Zhang Jingdong and said: ”Regarding this... Thank you... I owe you a favor.”

Zhang Jingdong smiled and shook his head: ”You know very well that if you really wanted to make me happy, you wouldn’t have said that last sentence.”

Zhang Lihua bit the corner of her mouth.

”But we... we really can’t.”

Zhang Jingdong gave her a deep look, then shrugged.

”I’m not forcing you to marry me now. Anyway, you’re not married, nor do you have a boyfriend. We can be friends first.”

”You’re not going to deny me even the chance to be friends with you, are you? That would be too heartless!”

Saying this, seeing that Zhang Lihua didn’t object, he continued: ”Since we’re friends, I have a favor to ask of you now?”

Seeing that Zhang Jingdong wasn’t joking, Zhang Lihua said: ”I owe you a favor, so go ahead, as long as it’s something I can do, I’ll agree... But it can’t be the matter we just talked about.”

”Rest assured, I said we’d be friends first, and I absolutely won’t use any bad tricks to manipulate you.”

”Here’s the thing: my parents were workers at a coal mine. Now that I have money, I want to set up some enterprises for them in the county. Mainly, when people get older, having something to occupy them helps keep them healthy.”

”Then last night, I brought them to your restaurant to eat, and they said your restaurant’s food was very delicious, so I promised them I’d buy your restaurant, and then have them help oversee the place.”

”This way, they can enjoy the restaurant’s delicious food every day and also have tasks to engage their brains and bodies.”

”So what I’m asking is to invest 5 million yuan in your restaurant for 20% of the shares and let my parents work at your restaurant.”

”You don’t need to give them any real positions, just some honorary roles, like my mom supervising hygiene at the restaurant, and my dad overseeing service quality. How does that sound?”

When Zhang Lihua heard that Zhang Jingdong wanted to invest 5 million in her restaurant, she was a bit dumbfounded. When he mentioned having his parents work at the restaurant, she was instantly overwhelmed.

”This... If you wanted other relatives to work at the restaurant, I could help arrange that, but now you’re investing in the restaurant while it’s your parents I’m arranging for. Are you doing this on purpose? How can I face them?”

Zhang Jingdong remained composed: ”What’s the problem? You’re not my girlfriend now; we’re just ordinary friends. My parents are just the parents of a normal friend of yours. It’s not hard to arrange.”

”As for my investment in the restaurant, firstly, I think your restaurant is doing well currently. We could open branches in the county or the neighboring county.”

”Secondly, I actually want to take this investment as an opportunity to partner with you on a larger project.”

Unable to counter the first two statements, Zhang Lihua went along with the last one: ”A larger project? What project?”
