Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Huo Chengcheng couldn’t help but shout, ”Boss Yuan, how far is it to the Hilton from here?”

Yuan Mei paused for a few seconds, then replied, ”It should be about seven or eight kilometers.”

Huo Chengcheng glanced at the time and then shouted to Zhang Jingdong, ”Boss Zhang, you only have 3 minutes left!”

Zhang Jingdong’s lips curled into a peculiar smile, then he floored the gas pedal, and the car noticeably sped up.

Two minutes later, with a beautiful drift, the black Land Rover steadily stopped in front of the barrier at the Hilton parking lot.

Soon, the barrier lifted, and Zhang Jingdong smoothly drove in, backing neatly into a parking spot.

Only then did he raise his hand to check the time and waved it in front of the four beautiful women in the car.

”Haha, it’s 8:47 now. I win!”

He then turned to look at Yuan Mei, ”Boss Yuan, what do you think? Admit defeat?”

Yuan Mei nodded with a mix of surprise and excitement, ”Alright, who can blame you for being so good? You won, and I admit my defeat.”

”What do you want me to do?”

Zhang Jingdong couldn’t help but flash a mischievous smile, ”We’ll talk about it when we get upstairs.”

With that, he casually opened the car door and got out.

Yuan Mei glanced at Bai Shan, then got out of the car as well.

They all headed into the hotel.

Since Zhang Jingdong had booked a suite here for Bai Shan and her friends, they skipped the front desk and went straight to the elevator area.

As the elevator came down and they got inside smoothly, Yuan Mei let out a sigh of relief.

Though she seemed aloof, there were too many people in Jiangdu who knew her.

Well, the most crucial part is, it’s her first time coming to a hotel with a man.

Even though Bai Shan and the others were around, if she ran into someone she knew, she wouldn’t be able to explain.

But now that they were in the elevator, and Zhang Jingdong wouldn’t be leaving with her later, she felt completely safe for the moment.

Zhang Jingdong noticed her unease and couldn’t help teasing, ”What, getting nervous?”

Yuan Mei instinctively shook her head, ”No... I’m not.”

Zhang Jingdong teased her nose, ”Relax, you’re here to learn Opera singing with us. It’s a serious matter of cultural heritage. No matter who you meet, you can tell them openly!”

Though still a bit uneasy inside, Yuan Mei nodded, ”...Mm.”

Soon, the elevator stopped at the 28th floor.

With a ”ding” sound, the elevator doors opened.

They exited the elevator.

Seeing no one around, Yuan Mei felt completely at ease.

In her excitement, she even took Zhang Jingdong’s hand, seemingly wanting to experience this little thrill she had never felt before.

Zhang Jingdong chuckled and naturally put his arm around her shoulder.

Turning a corner, they arrived at the door of room 2826.

Bai Shan had just taken out the room card from her bag when the door of room 2825 next door suddenly opened, and two women stepped out.

Zhang Jingdong instinctively turned to look at them.

One of the women, elegantly dressed in a white women’s business suit, suddenly exclaimed in shock upon seeing Yuan Mei, ”President Yuan?”

Initially feeling anxious upon hearing the neighboring door open, Yuan Mei’s heart tensed when she heard this.

But she couldn’t ignore it when the other party greeted her directly.

So she had to turn and look at them.

Then she panicked completely.

Because she not only knew the person, but the other person was also a friend recommended by Yan Ning herself.

Last week, they had dinner together with Yan Ning, and got along quite well.

Most importantly, she had told the other person she didn’t have a boyfriend.

Now it was completely awkward!

Not only did she have a boyfriend, but the boyfriend was Yan Ning’s boyfriend.

This...

She quickly adjusted her emotions and feigned calmness, ”Mr. Zhao, what a coincidence.”

Zhao Zhen quickly glanced at Zhang Jingdong and then said, ”I’m here to help a friend from out of town, and you are?”

Though Zhao Zhen’s expression was well-controlled, Yuan Mei sensed her strong curiosity.

”These are friends who are professional Opera singers; I’m an amateur myself. Today, they dined at my place, and I took the opportunity to learn a bit about Opera singing from them.”

”Oh... so that’s how it is.”

Though she said it out loud, Zhao Zhen inwardly didn’t believe a word of it.

Though she hadn’t known Yuan Mei for long, firstly, Yuan Mei was very famous in Jiangdu, and she had long admired her.

Secondly, through Yan Ning, she came to know more about this top-notch gourmet cook.

Combined with recent close interactions with Yuan Mei, while she couldn’t claim complete understanding, she was certain that if Yuan Mei hadn’t confirmed a relationship with a man, she wouldn’t come to a hotel with him, even with other women around.

Determined that Yuan Mei’s relationship with this man was not ordinary, Zhao Zhen’s curiosity about Zhang Jingdong grew.

Not for any other reason than him winning over Yuan Mei in less than a week.

She glanced again at Zhang Jingdong.

The result was discovering that not only did he have a youthful face, but his eyes also brimmed with confidence, assuring her that he wasn’t just someone who knew how to sing Opera.

Despite being introduced to Yuan Mei by Yan Ning, and getting quite familiar with her, they had only known each other formally for less than half a month, so she couldn’t just expose Yuan Mei’s lie.

She had to play along, ”Alright, I won’t delay you any longer. Let’s arrange another time to meet.”

Seeing that Zhao Zhen didn’t pursue the matter further, Yuan Mei secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

”Okay, okay... See you another time.”

Zhao Zhen was now fully convinced there was something between Yuan Mei and Zhang Jingdong.

Because Yuan Mei, because of him, was uncharacteristically guilty.

Politely nodding to Zhang Jingdong and his group, Zhao Zhen took the opportunity to take a closer look at Zhang Jingdong’s face, then turned and left.

As Zhao Zhen and her friends walked away, Bai Shan hurriedly used the room card to open the door.

They all pretended to be calm as they entered the room one by one.

The instant the door closed, Yuan Mei leaned against Zhang Jingdong’s shoulder, her face showing a sense of lingering fear.
