I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 550: Chapter 30: 12-Yard Thunderbolt (Part 2)

After being coached by several defensive masters, this Portuguese veteran’s defensive skills are very good.

Although he appeared fierce when tackling Cristiano Ronaldo, it was relatively clean. Chen Zhong’s action wasn’t aiming at him, but mainly a warning to Atletico Madrid players to cool down their movements.

And Mourinho also noticed Thiago’s gaze; two Thiagos brought a turning point in his career.

One was during his tenure at Chelsea in 2006, Thiago Cardoso Mendes, an absolute starter who only missed four games, helped him and Chelsea win their first Premier League title in 50 years and helped him reach the Champions League semifinals.

The other was last season when coaching Inter Milan, Thiago Motta Santong Oliveira, although in the semifinals, because of Barcelona’s Busquets and his ”despicable” ”ugly” face-covering performance, missed the Champions League final, he was an absolute starter and trusted aide for Mourinho at Inter Milan.

After Chen Zhong’s ”heavy hand,” Atletico Madrid players slightly restrained themselves, which made the match smooth again.

Diego Simeone wasn’t satisfied with the players’ attitude and wanted them to continue being ”fierce,” but as he hadn’t coached the team for long, he couldn’t completely direct the players.

”Atletico Madrid’s attack.”

”Passed to Reyes again.”

”Reyes broke through Alonso.”

”Chen Zhong slides in from the side.”

”Diving?”

”The referee doesn’t react!”

”A chance for Real Madrid.”

Atletico Madrid patiently launched an attack, not daring to move down the middle and could only work on the flanks.

Soon the ball found Reyes again.

Chen Zhong slightly retreated, Alonso moved close to Reyes trying to intercept, but Reyes’s actions were crisp, evading Alonso’s interception while starting to cut inside.

Chen Zhong reacted immediately, sliding in from the side.

Before Chen Zhong could reach the ball, Reyes had already jumped; you could say he was ”diving,” ”faking,” or it’s a form of self-protection.

Clearly, he believed he could not evade Chen Zhong’s sliding tackle.

So he hoped to earn a free kick opportunity.

However, the referee was nearby and saw this clearly without any indication.

”That’s a foul!”

”Foul!”

Voices of unwillingness came from Atletico Madrid fans in the stands, but they quickly quieted down.

Because after Chen Zhong cleared the ball, he quickly got up and initiated a fast attack with the ball.

Atletico Madrid players tried to surround Chen Zhong, but Chen Zhong deliberately attracted their attention, executing a long pass to find Kaka at the far end.

Kaka made a comfortable trap and evaded the defending player on the spot, quickly advancing towards the penalty area.

”15 minutes into the match!”

”Real Madrid initiated a fast counter-attack.”

”A wide-range transfer!”

”Found Kaka!”

”Kaka’s on-the-spot evasion ability is excellent.”

”Advancing towards the penalty area!”

”Atletico Madrid’s defense returned quickly.”

”Negredo and Kaka executed a one-two pass.”

”Kaka!”

”Cross!”

Real Madrid’s attack was smooth, particularly this change in rhythm during the attack, along with the players’ chemistry and personal skills, made Atletico Madrid’s defense line break apart.

After Kaka received Negredo’s pass inside the penalty area, he quickly locked his gaze on the figure boldly advancing.

That was Chen Zhong; beside him was the closely marking Thiago!

Kaka did not hesitate at all, delivering a low cross to the mid.

If that’s Chen Zhong!

He would surely get into position and complete the shot!

This wasn’t blind trust, but the belief earned through Chen Zhong’s repeated scoring!

Thiago used all his might to try to limit Chen Zhong, almost hanging half his body on Chen Zhong, but still couldn’t stop Chen Zhong’s steps.

At that moment, he seemed to recall the Magic Beast!

Didier Drogba!

It was Didier Drogba!

He wailed inside, casting a glance at the team’s goalkeeper, De Gea!

David De Gea!

This young and promising Spanish genius goalkeeper, could he block Chen Zhong’s shot again?

”Can’t be stopped!”

”Absolutely can’t be stopped!”

”Thiago almost hung his body on Chen Zhong.”

”But still couldn’t stop his advancing steps!”

”Kaka’s pass was just right!”

”Chen Zhong didn’t hesitate!”

”Directly chose to kick!”

Negredo vacated the position, which Chen Zhong filled by coming from the back.

The surrounding Thiago had no way to disrupt Chen Zhong; inside the penalty area and outside the small box, it was within reach.

De Gea’s expression shifted from initial calm, to panic, to despair, which was particularly amusing.

Initially, he thought it was just an ordinary shot.

But seeing Chen Zhong’s powerful stance and ”fierce” look in his eyes.

For a moment, De Gea really wanted to throw down his gloves and quit!

(╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

However, he couldn’t quit!

He could only stand in front of the goal and watch Chen Zhong, not far from 10 yards away, that close-range spot, complete a powerful shot!

(╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

Was it really necessary to make a powerful shot in this place?

De Gea didn’t know! He could only tense all his muscles and push his palms forward, trying to deflect the ball.

The ball hit his palms heavily, causing them to move.

De Gea felt a surge of force in front of him, his whole body falling backward.

Then there was a thud.

The sound of something hitting the ground.

”Goal goal goal goal goal!!!”

”Chen Zhong!”

”An unblockable powerful shot on goal!”

”De Gea was perfect enough.”

”His positioning and response were impeccable.”

”But this close-range cannon shot was beyond his ability!”

”He wanted to deflect the ball out!”

”But the ball rebounded and deflected into the net.”

”Was it a butterfinger?”

”It can’t be considered a butterfinger!”

”Even Casillas couldn’t block such a shot, hahahahaha, Casillas’s expression!”

Real Madrid scored first, Chen Zhong shot powerfully from outside the small box.

In the backfield, Casillas witnessed it all, and his expression was captured by the camera, showing a face of surprise and relief, wide-eyed, mouth agape, apparently saying, thank goodness I’m not Atletico Madrid’s goalkeeper.

If I were Atletico Madrid’s goalkeeper...

/(ㄒoㄒ)/~~

Meanwhile, in the stands, Real Madrid fans burst out laughing after witnessing this goal, feeling this scene was very comical, as shooting was originally a very tense affair.

But when they saw Chen Zhong make a cannon shot from such close range, they indeed worried for De Gea.

And Atletico Madrid fans were completely speechless, feeling angry, unwilling, and sad, especially about losing in this manner.

The goalkeeper was well positioned, the shooting line was clear.

But...

But if you can’t handle it yourself, who else can you blame?

Let’s just say, thank goodness it wasn’t a headshot, otherwise they might want to call the cops for that damn Chinese attempting to murder their genius goalkeeper.

After celebrating, Chen Zhong glanced at De Gea, originally wanting to tease him a bit, but upon seeing him lying on the ground contemplating life, he didn’t waste more time.

Instead, he turned and ran towards the corner flag area, leaping high, completing his signature celebration pose.

Later!

Next time, I’ll tease him.

De Gea: What? There’s a next time?
