I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 535: Chapter 23: An Eye for an Eye

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

The fans craned their necks and looked at Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese player attempted an explosive shot from outside the penalty area to break Milan’s goal. This attempt made the hearts of Milan fans leap to their throats.

Faced with the Portuguese’s shot, Milan players in front of the goal tried their best to intercept the ball.

But the speed of this shot was incredibly fast, always barely evading the interception of the defensive players.

”Amelia!”

”A miraculous save!”

”He punched the ball away with both fists.”

”Negredo wants to follow up with a shot.”

”But Bonera cleared the ball.”

Mourinho shook his head while smiling, his expression seemingly saying that this ball could have gone in and could have killed the game entirely.

Allegri let out a long sigh of relief. This Real Madrid was truly terrifying. If Pirlo hadn’t gone to Real Madrid, if the club could have offered some funds for him to return this season and not go to Juventus.

Things might have been different.

After escaping a disaster, Milan’s focus clearly intensified.

And Cristiano Ronaldo, feeling the pressure, began to seek more cooperation with his teammates.

In the 40th minute, Chen Zhong took the ball at the center, Kaka coordinated on the side. After two consecutive wall passes, Chen Zhong passed the ball to C. Ronaldo. C. Ronaldo attracted the attention of the defensive players, then made a low pass, attempting to bypass the defenders and get the ball to Kaka, who was at the far end.

But Gattuso fearlessly slid in, intercepting the ball halfway through.

Then, Milan launched an attack, Ronaldinho tried to dribble past Chen Zhong, but Chen Zhong directly used his body against the Brazilian.

The Brazilian tried to evade sideward, but his protruding belly was struck by Chen Zhong from the side, losing balance and falling to the ground.

Milan fans loudly protested in the stands, yet the referee showed no indication of responding.

”An opportunity for Real Madrid.”

”In the 43rd minute.”

”Real Madrid seized a chance for a quick counterattack.”

”Ronaldinho should tuck in his belly.”

”Now it’s a situation of more attacking players against fewer defenders.”

”The ball is passed to Negredo.”

”What will he choose?”

Real Madrid is playing very relaxed now. After receiving the ball, Negredo hesitated briefly and did not choose to pass it out but attempted to dribble past Nesta in front and complete a shot.

This series of smooth moves is the ’secret technique’ that allowed him to quickly establish himself at Almeria upon debuting.

However, Nesta, with his seasoned experience, precisely intercepted Negredo’s ball.

This scene elicited some jeering from the crowd.

Mourinho slightly furrowed his brow, he deeply glanced at Negredo, then turned to Francisco beside him and asked, ”Was he always like this before?”

”No.” Francisco answered confidently, ”He didn’t make such attempts before.”

”Alright!” Mourinho nodded, ”I hope he is just acting impulsively.”

Currently, Real Madrid has Negredo, Higuain, Benzema, and Morata at the center forward position, and in Castilla, there’s a new young player named Joselu.

Among these four center forwards, Higuain’s individual ability stands out, Negredo has good comprehensive ability, Benzema’s advantage is in honesty, Morata is mostly training in Castilla, occasionally appearing in unimportant cup games, and as for Joselu, he’s completely not yet in contention.

In Mourinho’s mind, Higuain’s edge is too sharp, Benzema is somewhat ’soft’, and Morata still needs experience.

If Negredo can play well as a role player, he’d be a good choice.

He is strong, fast, has good shooting skill, decent footwork, and also headplay and footwork, at least to Mourinho now, he’s the undoubted choice for the team.

But what if Negredo is not content and wants to score?

On the pitch, after Milan intercepted the ball from Negredo, they launched a quick counterattack.

Ibrahimovic didn’t receive the ball in the middle but on the right side, successfully breaking through Cavaleiro, but unfortunately, Chen Zhong’s defensive return was swift, and his slide tackle from the side was quite precise.

Directly knocking Ibrahimovic to the ground.

The first reaction of Ibrahimovic on the ground was not to clutch his foot but to look up and see who dared to tackle him like that, only to see Chen Zhong getting up and grinning at him.

”Get up! Kid!” Chen Zhong looked down at Ibrahimovic, smilingly returning the Swedish’s original words when he was pushed down earlier, ”Don’t be like a woman, man up.”

Ibrahimovic smirked, exposing his sharp white teeth, then with a snap, forcefully shook Chen Zhong’s hand.

”You were too rough! Idiot!”

”Who defends like you do!”

Ibrahimovic, being quite the character himself, returned Chen Zhong’s original words verbatim, he had only been scraped earlier, now his leg was okay, just bruised slightly.

The side referee Proenca originally wanted to come over to see the situation and then warn Chen Zhong.

But seeing the two chatting so amiably, he could only suppress his internal emotions.
