I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 508: Chapter 9: Everyone Wants to Be the Boss! (Part 2)

Maybe even he himself wants to give it a try, to see if he can lead the team when Chen Zhong is absent.

”C. Ronaldo!”

”Dribbling on the left!”

”Slowed down the pace.”

”Trying to break through!”

”Fooled the defender.”

”Ah!”

”Senderos!”

”He’s definitely going to get carded for this!”

C. Ronaldo tried to dribble past on the left, he indeed tricked Senderos, but the latter chose to commit a tactical foul, yet the main referee didn’t issue a card.

In the shot, Cristiano Ronaldo looked a bit impatient, his face flushed, bending over, with his hands open, demanding an explanation from the referee.

”C. Ronaldo is a bit hot-headed now.”

”Seems like he’s saying, isn’t this worth a card?”

”Marcelo came up and hugged C. Ronaldo.”

”Stop it, if you keep talking, the referee might card you.”

”Honestly, C. Ronaldo could have coordinated with teammates just now.”

”Granero was not far away.”

”In the replay, Granero seems quite displeased with C. Ronaldo too.”

This setback didn’t affect Real Madrid, as they launched wave after wave of attacks afterwards.

Chen Zhong and Kaka were chatting casually while watching the game initially, but they quickly became serious.

From the footage, it appeared that Real Madrid’s attack was multifaceted, but in truth, they were fighting individually, completely unlike a cohesive team.

In the 9th minute, Higuain got the ball, ignoring C. Ronaldo’s hand signal for a pass, with an expression saying, you didn’t cooperate earlier, now you want me to cooperate? Dream on!

Having finally made the starting lineup, Higuain also wanted to prove himself, opting to go it alone and breaking through the opponents’ defense, but he lost the angle for shooting afterwards.

At that moment, passing was Higuain’s best option, but he chose to forcefully take a shot!

The result was merely wasting a golden opportunity.

Soon, Real Madrid made another comeback, leading to a comical scene on the field. Granero passed a peculiar ball between Higuain and C. Ronaldo, and both clashed over the ball and fell to the ground.

This scene left the commentators speechless!

”Granero’s pass.”

”This ball...”

”Not specified clearly!”

”Both want it, neither gives way!”

”It ended up causing a collision.”

”Clearly, everyone in this match wants to showcase themselves.”

”But they are pushing too hard.”

”If Chen Zhong were on the field, he could stabilize this situation.”

”But Chen Zhong isn’t here.”

Since the game started, it’s Chen Zhong, who isn’t on the squad, that the domestic commentary mentions the most, as do the international commentators, and fans frequently talk about him.

Because they indeed feel the difference with and without Chen Zhong on Real Madrid’s field.

When Chen Zhong is on the field, Real Madrid plays with structure, revolving around him.

Without Chen Zhong, it feels like everyone has their own agenda, everyone wants to show off, everyone wants to be the boss!

Mourinho was getting a bit restless on the sidelines. He finally broke his silence, shouting the players’ names loudly, which slightly improved the situation, at least in the following time period Real Madrid players showed a bit of coordination.

In the 13th minute, under duress, Higuain passed the ball, which was cleared by Mallorca players. C. Ronaldo spread his hands, seemingly unable to understand Higuain’s cross, while Higuain pointed at his location, as if saying, damn it, see where you’ve pushed me! Aren’t you a winger!

Among the front trio, it was Di Maria who slightly sacrificed himself, gradually making the team’s attacking rhythm smoother.

For a while, you could see Di Maria making long passes, and then Portuguese ignored Higuain, directly shooting wide at the edge of the penalty area.

Di Maria passed, the Portuguese ignored Higuain’s raised hand, ignored Granero’s run, choosing to make a breakthrough on the left, cutting inside after bypassing two players to 25 yards, ignoring Higuain, Granero, Di Maria, opting for a low shot.

The ball went straight into the goalkeeper’s arms.

Then it was Higuain receiving a pass from Di Maria, ignoring C. Ronaldo, insisting on a breakthrough, ultimately fouled by the opponent and falling to the ground, but the main referee turned a blind eye.

Already agitated, Higuain directly roared at the referee in dispute, while Mourinho also expressed discontent with the fourth official on the sidelines.

”They’re...” Kaka hesitated on the couch: ”a bit impatient.”

”Yeah!” Chen Zhong frowned, in this match, Real Madrid had many shots but few truly threatening goals, everyone seemed to become ”impatient”, none had much patience.

Mallorca seemed to notice this as well, launching an attack in the 30th minute when Real Madrid’s stamina started to drop, and their attacking slowed.

And they completed their first shot in the 41st minute.

This success greatly boosted the confidence of Mallorca’s players.

On the field, Mallorca fans started becoming excited.

”End of the first half.”

”Real Madrid fans must already be missing Chen Zhong.”

”Real Madrid had multiple chances in the first half.”

”But lacked some coordination between players.”

”Sometimes if another pass was made, things might be different.”

”Let’s see what adjustments Mourinho will make!”

Mourinho didn’t make any adjustments in the second half, but from the players’ and his expressions, there must have been some unpleasant conversations.

This conversation might have been somewhat positive.

Because soon after the start of the second half, Real Madrid almost scored.

It was Higuain and Di Maria’s connection.

Higuain made a diagonal pass to Di Maria.

The two Argentinians tried to build trust, but Di Maria was clearly unprepared, his airborne ball control was large, and subsequently cleared by the defenders.

Cristiano Ronaldo watched the scene expressionlessly.

Alright then!

Argentinians bullying Portuguese, right!

I have brothers too, call for support!

With such a mindset, Real Madrid’s coordination developed gaps, nearly allowing Mallorca to score first around the 50-minute mark.

Ensué from Mallorca crossed from the right and Victor, leaving behind two Real Madrid defenders, ran to the edge of the six-yard box and headed towards the goal.

At that time, Casillas had already given up resisting, but fortunately, the ball went over the crossbar.

Following this, Real Madrid displayed another ”disharmonious” scene.

Di Maria passed the ball to Cristiano Ronaldo in the front, attempting a one-two, but the Portuguese player took a long shot from beyond 30 yards.

Di Maria didn’t say anything, but Higuain stepped in to reason with C. Ronaldo.

This scene made Mourinho fully recognize the reality. Before the match reached 60 minutes, he directly utilized a substitution.

At the sideline, Mourinho patted Benzema’s shoulder and said, ”You know what I want you to do.”

Benzema still mired in the ”PC” issue, in the dressing room at the center forward position, this man once hailed as the ”White Ronaldo” among the French, seemed the easiest to handle.

Benzema looked at Mourinho, with a well-behaved expression.

He substituted for Higuain.

As Higuain came off, he kept muttering, seeming very disgruntled.

After a while, Mourinho used Granero to substitute Granero, because he found that when the front trio weren’t causing trouble, Granero came up with mischief.

Yet despite this, the team still couldn’t breach the opponent’s goal in the remaining time.

Mourinho finally realized the issue, no, he faced a problem squarely.

That is, Real Madrid must have a boss on the field.

Otherwise, even with 11 Ballon d’Or winners on the field, it would be chaos!

Because everyone wants to!

Be the boss!
