I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 274: Chapter 17: The Title Race

To this day, Milan fans can finally hold their heads high and shout, our goal is to win the championship!

After successive victories against Bologna, Genoa, Lazio, and the recently conquered Regina, the point gap between Milan and Inter Milan has narrowed to just 2 points.

And the most coincidental thing is that in the next round, which is the 24th round of the Serie A, Milan will be facing Inter Milan.

As long as they can win against Inter Milan in that match.

Then Milan can overtake Inter Milan and become the league leader!

My God, my Lord, my Jesus!

To directly defeat the city rival, stepping on their heads, pulling them down from the top, and then becoming the league leader yourself, who understands this feeling!

However, things that have happened recently have made Milan fans worried.

First of all, Kaka will miss the derby match against Inter Milan, a news like a rolling thunder exploding over the heads of Milan fans.

This match is the 270th derby.

Kaka being absent due to injury is bad news, Beckham’s failed transfer to Milan is another bad news, Nesta’s training injury is another bad news, and then Shevchenko might miss due to a muscle strain, still bad news.

Milan seems to be under a curse, with the team receiving various injury reports in succession.

Of course, Inter Milan is not unscathed either; in training, their defender Maicon also suffered a muscle injury, besides that, they had no leg issues.

Although Milan fans are a bit worried inside, because Milan defeated Inter Milan at the beginning of the season, they still have the confidence to talk smack with Inter Milan fans.

Mourinho, seeing this lively atmosphere, decisively joined in. He stated in front of the media, ”Milan indeed performs better in the Champions League, but this is Serie A.”

”I will not allow the team to repeat past mistakes.”

”The match at the beginning of the season against Milan was the worst we played.”

Since Mourinho’s tenure, he has maintained a terrifying record of a 7-year unbeaten streak at home, which also gives him the confidence to make such a statement. In contrast, Ancelotti had no mood to respond to Mourinho’s remarks.

He already knew some news, that is, the transfer of Beckham to Milan had completely failed.

Although Beckham was very willing to join Milan, in terms of transfer fees, Milan couldn’t offer a satisfactory price due to financial constraints.

As for the side of Real Madrid regarding Chen Zhong’s transfer or loan extension, it completely fell through.

It is rumored that the club’s high-level management even tried to negotiate this deal using Chen Zhong + cash to exchange for Kaka, but unfortunately, Real Madrid didn’t even bother.

What a joke!

Chen Zhong!

You damned well said Chen Zhong!

The current idol of all levels of teams in Sports City, the future flag, cornerstone, captain of Real Madrid, the leader eagerly awaited by young players in the locker room.

You damned want me to finalize this deal with you?

Even if it’s 100 million + Kaka for Chen Zhong, if I agree today, I’ll step down tomorrow, okay!

Besides, does Milan have money?

Clearly not...

Beckham’s transfer asking price is 12 million euros, but Milan can only afford 5 million euros, showing just how dire Milan’s financial situation is now.

Besides this, Maldini has already confirmed his retirement at the end of this season.

This match will be Maldini’s last Derby della Madonnina. Unless a miracle occurs, he’ll never have the chance to appear on the field again.

Various websites, forums, and programs have started analyzing the probabilities of victory or defeat in this Milan derby.

Now that 23 rounds of Serie A have passed, Milan’s conceded goals of 23 are the most among the top five teams in Serie A, while the goal count is only one less than Inter Milan.

The performance of the two teams in the Serie A isn’t because Milan’s offense isn’t outstanding enough, but because Milan’s defense isn’t outstanding enough.

Nesta has been unable to play due to injury this season, disrupting Milan’s season plans, and Senderos being unfit for purpose worsens the situation for Milan’s defense. The central defense can only rely on the over-40-year-old captain Maldini and the injury-prone Kalanze, with the mediocre Bonera and the old Favalli as backups.

This configuration naturally worries everyone about Milan’s central defense.

And in this match, facing Inter Milan’s tall and strong front line, with two big men over 1.90 meters tall, the hole in Milan’s defense line isn’t likely to be small.

Of course, a name was frequently mentioned in programs.

That person is Chen Zhong.

Who is on Inter Milan’s front line?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Swedish striker, 195CM tall.

Adriano Leite Ribeiro, nicknamed: ”King”, 190CM tall.

These two forwards leading at the front, coupled with Stankovic, called ”Thunderbolt Fire” by domestic fans, the forward line of Inter Milan can only be described as ”terrifying beyond measure.”

Combined with midfielders Muntari, Cambiasso, Zanetti...

This current Inter Milan under Mourinho’s coaching has long been the hot favorite to win the championship.
