I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 255: Chapter 7: Prodigy! A Bumper Harvest! (Part 2)

According to this standard, ten thousand times would require at least 100 matches to start with.

And the task requires consciously using the arc, which means the passing involved here is definitely not backpasses or wall passes, coupled with the need for it to be in official matches to be valid.

So, an initial estimate would be at least 3 years to get started.

”Chen!”

”Chen!!”

”Can we talk now?” Ancelotti looked at Chen Zhong, who was lost in thought standing by the ball, and called out twice, thinking Chen Zhong might find it hard to back down now?

So, he should give him a way out.

”One last time!” Chen Zhong turned his head to look at Ancelotti, pointed at the ball under his feet, and once again said those familiar words, leaving Ancelotti a bit helpless. What could he do? The ball was already set up, he could only agree.

The people around, seeing Chen Zhong stand by the ball again, also watched with a look of amusement.

”Again?”

”Does he really think this time it’ll work?”

”Not everyone can become Beckham.”

David Beckham’s ”Beckham’s Arc” is unrivaled in football, even researchers have specifically studied how to kick a ”Crescent Blade” like Beckham, but in the end, it was to no avail.

Even if Beckham saw Chen Zhong’s talent, took the initiative to teach, and personally demonstrated while practicing with him every day.

In that case, Chen Zhong might have a slight chance of learning a bit of Beckham’s tricks.

But, they all found out that Beckham only showed off a shot in front of Chen Zhong, then Chen Zhong practiced there alone.

If he can learn like that!

I’d swallow that football!

Chen Zhong took a deep breath, just like the other [Badge], this time standing by the ball, he had a little bit of [Inspiration], and as he moved, there was no shadow of Beckham in his eyes, and his moves were no longer a clumsy imitation of Beckham. Instead, it was the best state he had adjusted after practicing 1000 free kicks over 15 days.

”Bang!”

The ball flew off Chen Zhong’s foot, appearing to head directly for the stands.

Just as most people thought this shot was a mistake by Chen Zhong.

The ball suddenly made an acute turn in mid-air, originally heading outside the right post, it sharply turned and descended, heading towards the left post.

The ball quickly descended, finally going out of bounds a few steps from the post.

Chen Zhong held his head in frustration, but at that moment, he brought unparalleled shock to others on the field.

”He, he!” Ancelotti was somewhat speechless, a 17-year-old boy blindly practicing turned out to replicate the unsolvable Beckham’s Arc in football?

Even Beckham nearby couldn’t believe it.

That day, he just saw some scattered balls ahead and under the guise of teaching, casually showed off his skills.

And now, his unique trick was no longer just his?

Yes, although the posture of taking steps and leg swinging was different from his, there was still a faint trace of resemblance.

Darn, he not only learned it but also adapted it according to his height.

Could it be that he’s truly a genius???

The trio of Pirlo, Inzaghi, and Kaka on the other side were also dumbfounded.

Inzaghi looked at Pirlo in a daze and asked, ”Was this by chance, or?”

”He’s already grasped it.” Pirlo said seriously: ”Although it’s still very rough now, he’s only 17. As long as he keeps practicing, he’ll only get better.”

Not only in football, but many things sometimes lack that little bit of ”sparkle”. Once breaking through that bottleneck period, the first rapid improvement process follows.

Listening to Pirlo, Kaka looked at Chen Zhong with curiosity and said: ”He actually learned Beckham’s Arc, Filippo, does what you said earlier still count?”

”Wh-what counts?”

”About us guiding him a bit, to see if he’s really that much of a genius...”

”Okay!” Inzaghi readily agreed, looking at Pirlo and Kaka, he laughed: ”Pirlo’s passing and your dribbling are easier to learn, but my ’luck’ can’t be learned through practice.”

”Now, or?” Pirlo, being straightforward, found joy in being a mentor, provided the student is smart enough, and he couldn’t wait to test this genius who managed to master Beckham’s Arc.

”Let’s wait!”

”The boss seems to have something to discuss with Chen.”

...

Ancelotti, watching Chen Zhong, recalled the feeling when he first heard Chen Zhong wanted to join on loan.

If Chen Zhong was still the former Chen Zhong, he’d be an outstanding player capable of plugging defensive gaps. After all, in previous matches, apart from his defense and awareness being commendable, his passing, to be honest, was mediocre.

After Beckham joined on loan, Ancelotti had often thought, what if Chen Zhong could shoot a Beckham’s Arc?

That would be darn perfect.

Ancelotti’s coaching career at Milan had reached a bottleneck, last season he didn’t even lead Milan to the Champions League.

Initially this season, he didn’t expect much, planning to part ways with Milan peacefully at season’s end. But now his dream had come true, Chen Zhong really could execute an Arc, his passing was no longer straightforward.

With Chen Zhong as his trump card, if used wisely, miracles could happen.

However, it now needed to be confirmed whether Chen Zhong’s Arc could be used in matches.

”Conduct a scrimmage!” Ancelotti shouted to the coaches nearby: ”Arrange a scrimmage, let Chen play for the substitute team!”

After shouting, Ancelotti hesitated, then added: ”Let them pass to Chen more.”

”Let the substitute team have Chen organize with the ball more!”

Ancelotti temporarily modified the training plan, preparing to have an intra-squad scrimmage in the afternoon. The news spread quickly, everyone knew it was because Chen Zhong ’accidentally’ kicked out an Arc on the training field.

Ancelotti’s intention was quite apparent too, to see if Chen Zhong could consistently use the Arc in matches.

If Chen Zhong performed adequately, he would soon feature in official matches.

It could be in the UEFA Europa League, the league, or the cup matches.

Who knows!

But most people weren’t optimistic.

After all, many excel in tricks off the field, but on the field, they remain the same?

The first team lineup came out quickly, with the team set up in a 4-3-2-1 formation, Pato at the front, followed by Kaka, Ronaldinho, then Seedorf, Pirlo, Beckham, with the defense of Jankulovsky, Nesta, Maldini, Zambrotta, and goalkeeper Dida.

And the second team’s lineup wasn’t bad either, with Shevchenko and Inzaghi up front and Bonera, Senderos among others at the back.

Chen Zhong was undoubtedly the central figure in the middle.

Ancelotti was a coach who tailored his strategy to the available players, and due to Beckham’s influence, his attention on Chen Zhong had diminished. However, he had considered his potential use for Chen Zhong.

Which was to have the midfield revolve around Chen Zhong.

This doesn’t mean making Chen Zhong the organizing core, but more like doing what he did at Real Madrid: ball handling, retaining possession, and defending.

In this scrimmage, Ancelotti had a deeper purpose, which was to assess Chen Zhong’s ability to distribute from the back, even directly to the front, and to what degree he could achieve this.
