I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 272: Chapter 16: Hero

The ball was intercepted in the backfield, faced the goalkeeper one-on-one, saved and then the second chance...

A Lazio forward in a blue shirt suddenly charged out.

At this desperate moment, Milan fans inevitably turned their eyes to that man.

The man who first sensed the danger, first rushed over to try to cover, and now the only one who could save everything.

Pandev’s speed started off slightly faster than Chen Zhong’s, and in the process of running, he kept adjusting his position to block Chen Zhong’s path.

He was about to reach the ball and face the open goal.

Chen Zhong gritted his teeth and without hesitation, slid into the fleeting gap.

No hesitation!

Hesitation means defeat!

Under the gaze of countless people, amid the curses from Lazio fans and the exclamations of Milan fans.

Chen Zhong, risking the threat of being stomped, touched the ball in front of Pandev’s raised foot, disrupting Pandev’s impending shot.

Pandev stumbled a bit, stepping towards the rolling ball, and at this moment, Abbiati rushed from the side and tightly held the ball in his arms.

Ancelotti saw this scene from the sidelines and forcefully patted his chest, while in distant Spain, Florentino also breathed a sigh of relief, genuinely afraid that Chen Zhong might get injured for Milan!

Pandev grabbed his head and let out a frustrated roar, while the Lazio fans in the stands booed, with some even leaning out halfway, shouting ”Penalty.”

Perhaps in their opinion, Chen Zhong’s slide tackle was a foul!

After Abbiati got up holding the ball, he tucked it under one arm and vigorously patted Chen Zhong’s shoulder with the other hand.

If it weren’t for Chen Zhong just now, this goal would have been almost conceded for sure.

Other Milan players also came over, expressing their ”admiration,” and with this one defensive maneuver, Chen Zhong proved that he was truly playing for Milan with heart.

Consecutively missing two golden opportunities inevitably affected Lazio players’ morale.

And as the first half drew to a close, Lazio’s desire to attack diminished, but Milan’s did not.

Especially Pato, who was actively running to seek opportunities.

”The first half is about to end.”

”Chen Zhong controls the ball.”

”Pass it again, return, pass it again!”

”Passed to the flank.”

”Beckham is pushing forward on the right.”

”Cross.”

Lazio gathered a large force in the central area, blocking potential passing routes from Chen Zhong, so Chen Zhong chose not to force it, instead passing the ball to Beckham on the wing. Beckham carried the ball to the baseline and made a beautiful low cross, bypassing the defenders.

The ball came to the front of the goal, with Pato making a clever run forward and then poking the ball ahead.

Muslera, who had provided great saves in the first half, made no reaction.

0:2

Milan leads by two goals.

Lazio fans in the stands looked dejected, while Milan fans were grinning from ear to ear, knowing that with this victory, they would secure second place in the league.

The next task is to catch up with that ”disobedient brother,” Inter Milan!

The first half ends, and Milan enters the second half with a two-goal lead. During halftime, Ancelotti praised Chen Zhong’s performance and confirmed the ”core objective” of the team in midfield revolves around Chen Zhong.

Before, it was about having Chen Zhong and Beckham protect Pirlo.

But now, it’s Beckham and Pirlo assisting Chen Zhong.

The second half begins, and Milan quickly launches an attack after kickoff, aiming to further extend their lead.

After receiving a short pass from Chen Zhong, Beckham decisively chose to dribble and break through, however, Beckham was no longer the Beckham of old, and the Lazio players directly took him down on the outskirts of the right-side penalty area.

Beckham got up from the ground, his expression slightly dazed.

If he were a few years younger, in such a situation, he could have relied on his speed to break into the penalty area, and even if knocked down, he might have fought for a penalty.

But...

Suppressing the sadness in his heart, Beckham unhesitatingly stood in front of the ball.

”Milan is aggressively attacking right from the start.”

”Very unfortunate, Beckham didn’t manage to break through.”

”If he had broken through, maybe this ball could have been a penalty.”

”Beckham steps up to take this free kick.”

”He has the ability to score.”

”What will he choose?”

In Lazio’s penalty area, players pushed and shoved each other.

Regarding Beckham’s choice to shoot or pass, Lazio players leaned towards shooting.

After all, in past matches, Milan players haven’t shown much advantage in contesting high balls.

Beckham raised his right hand high, making Milan players nervous, because this gesture indicated that this time he chose to pass.

”Beckham!”

”Standard Beckham’s Arc.”

”What is this?”

In the commentator’s slightly surprised tone, the ball made a sharp turn in the air, targeting the far post where Chen Zhong was rushing in, Chen Zhong squeezed past Lazio players, soared high, and headed the ball into the goal.

The ball shot straight into the net!

No one could stop it!

Milan completely killed the game!
