I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 260: Chapter 10: Debut

”We are presenting you the live broadcast of the 20th round of the Serie A match.”

”Chen Zhong is making his comeback in the league after half a year, and I believe many viewers in front of the TV share the same excitement as I do.”

”It has been five years since 2004 when we first heard of his joining Real Madrid’s youth training, moving up to Castilla by the end of 2006, and then becoming a first-team player of Real Madrid in 2007, securing his place as a mainstay in the first team and experiencing a dream season.”

”The first person from Asia, the Asian Light, and the leader of the post-90s generation, these were once his nicknames, but they could not hide the fact that he had not appeared in an official match for half a season.”

”The current score is 1:0.”

”Bologna is leading Milan by one goal.”

”This familiar scoreline might remind some viewers familiar with Chen Zhong of last season’s Spanish Super Cup and Spanish League.”

”He always steps up during tough situations for the team, so what about this time?”

Chen Zhong stepped onto this foreign pitch, starting his first match in an unfamiliar land, with all eyes fixated on this young genius.

For a young player, being out of matches for half a season can significantly affect many things.

Before he went on, Ancelotti discussed a lot with him.

The main task for Chen Zhong in this match is to focus on defense and ball control, while the team’s formation would switch between 4321 and 4312, which is most used by Milan.

After the game resumed its normal pace, Bologna immediately sought a breakthrough from Chen Zhong’s side.

This is not out of underestimating Chen Zhong, but players require ”form” on the field, and freshly entering Chen Zhong might just serve as a breakthrough point.

”Bologna’s attack!”

”Amoruso.”

”He wants to repeat his old trick.”

Amoruso seemed to have tasted success and attempted to squeeze through the gap between Pirlo and Chen Zhong after half-turning to receive the ball.

However, just as he stopped the ball and barely turned his body, the ball at his feet was tackled away, and he was brought down to the ground.

”Oh~”

”A beautiful sliding tackle!”

”Chen Zhong made the tackle without hesitation, very clean, beautiful, and decisive.”

Pirlo picked up the ball not far away and, without much ball control, passed it to Chen Zhong who had gotten up from the ground, and Chen Zhong had no intention of stopping the ball but directly ran up and blasted the ball out.

”Chen kicks..”

”Huh??”

”Direct long kick.”

”Looks like it’s going to..”

”What? That, curve!”

This is a Chen Zhong that fans have never seen before.

He did not, as usual, protect the ball first after receiving it, then control it acting as a mere support player, but after receiving the pass from Pirlo, he did not make a dribble but kicked a beautiful curve ball directly.

Milan’s front-line formation:

Pato

Seedorf, Kaka

Chen Zhong, Pirlo, Beckham

Sometimes on the front line, Seedorf and Kaka would move forward to become two forwards, changing into two inverted triangles.

During this time, Chen Zhong developed some degree of tacit understanding with his teammates, especially during training matches where Chen Zhong’s drifting passes left a deep impression on many.

Kaka adjusted his run when he saw Chen Zhong preparing to kick, and his adjustments during the run paid off.

”This isn’t just a random pass!”

”Kaka.”

”Successful offside breakthrough!”

”Milan’s attack!”

Kaka received the ball outside the penalty area, and as he adjusted his turn, Bologna’s defenders quickly got back in position.

He didn’t hesitate and chipped the ball towards the central area, where Chen Zhong stood tall like a lighthouse.

Chen Zhong shielded the defender beside him and pushed the ball forward.

Without any hesitation, Seedorf took a powerful shot without stopping and blasted it towards the goal.

”Beep~”

The referee blew the whistle and pointed towards the center circle, indicating the goal was valid.

This surprised the Milan fans in the stands, who cheered Seedorf and Kaka’s names, and even some shouted Chen Zhong’s name.

”It’s a goal!”

”Seedorf equalized for Milan.”

”This attack was initiated by a long pass from Chen Zhong at the backfield.”

”He showcased a trait that he did not at Real Madrid.”

”He’s perfectly integrated into Milan.”

”After scoring, Seedorf ran to the sidelines to hug Ronaldinho on the substitutes’ bench.”

”They seem to have a good relationship.”

Mikhailovic stood on the sidelines dumbfounded at the scene.

He realized that Chen Zhong’s presence could change Milan, but he didn’t expect such a drastic change. His ”boldness” in defense, decisiveness in advancing, and assertiveness in handling the ball all surprised Mikhailovic.

His long pass resembling ”Beckham”, although slightly off without granting Kaka a straight single opportunity, went over the ”barrier” set up at midfield, and his decisive forward run created a high point in the box.

The last one-touch pass helped Seedorf’s explosive shot.

”We must pay attention to him!”

”But what should we do?” Mikhailovic thought with some distress.

Chen Zhong’s positioning is extremely flexible. He is not a typical center forward standing in one place; he picks the perfect moment to make forwards, and his strong physique and nimble movement all give Mikhailovic a headache.
