I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 268: Chapter 14: New Battleship Under Construction

Milan’s finances have run into big trouble.

And the contact from Real Madrid at this point puts Milan in a bit of a dilemma.

They had just said on the live broadcast that Kaka was not for sale, and they would complete a contract renewal, and also expressed the intention to loan Chen Zhong for a long term. But in turn, they sat at the negotiating table and started discussing Kaka’s transfer.

Galliani was originally very firm, but when the chairman told him how ”desperate” the club’s finances were, he had to consider the possibility of selling Kaka.

He couldn’t understand.

Clearly, we were the ones wanting to try a long-term loan for Chen Zhong, so how did it suddenly become selling Ballon d’Or winner Kaka to Real Madrid?

The club didn’t want to sell, the player didn’t want to leave, and the player’s family also liked Milan’s pace. How did it suddenly become that they had no choice but to sell?

This question is too difficult.

I don’t know, I really don’t know!

Signing Kaka was an important matter for Real Madrid, for Florentino.

When Barcelona’s ”Dream Team III” was shining in various competitions like a runaway horse, Florentino had already sensed the threat.

He is already essentially the president of Real Madrid, the candidate supported by the fans. As long as he announces his candidacy and pays the deposit, he can directly become president when no one else pays the deposit, Mr. Florentino.

He wouldn’t allow the new flagship player of his ”new battleship” to be Calderon’s signing of ”Cristiano Ronaldo”, he needed the new battleship story to have a good start.

Just like when he brought Luis Figo to Real Madrid in 2000, this Barcelona star was signed with a napkin at the end of 2000 like Zidane.

He wanted to start the new season’s sailing well in 2009.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo, the ”new Ballon d’Or” winner, isn’t his man, then the slightly older ”Ballon d’Or” Kaka can also add some color to the currently dim Galaxy Battleship.

But Florentino learned from past lessons and hoped to keep the team’s locker room under his control.

Rather than letting others have control, he preferred to keep control in his own hands.

During this time, Florentino also conducted a simple plan for the new season and had a rough framework in mind, but no matter the framework, Florentino hoped Chen Zhong could play a good role.

After a call with Pimenta, Chen Zhong felt considerable pressure as Pimenta’s implication was clear, that Florentino wanted to clean house and rebuild a new battleship on the ruins.

Raul, Guti, these two ”big brothers” might not be part of the blueprint for the team. Florentino hoped that Chen Zhong could become the core of Real Madrid, and by then, Chen Zhong would be about 18, which according to domestic standards is an adult.

Before the match against Lazio, Kaka responded to recent transfer rumors again expressing his affection for the team while affirming in the media his determination to stay in Milan.

”I don’t want to go to England or Spain.”

”My family and I like it here.”

”They wouldn’t want me to leave either.” When Kaka said this, he was full of confidence because at the beginning of the season, Berlusconi had said that Kaka staying was as happy as winning the Champions League for the team.

How could he have thought that just half a season later, Berlusconi was already contemplating selling him?

Milan fans never thought about the possibility of Kaka leaving. After all, they had even refused Manchester City’s 100 million pound offer, even refused the chance to go to Real Madrid. Kaka’s loyalty was unquestionable; how could he leave?

At this time, even Mourinho from Inter Milan said, ”Kaka staying in Serie A is absolutely a happy thing.”

”He is definitely a world-class star, and if he leaves Serie A, it will have a negative impact on Italian football.”

”I hope Kaka doesn’t leave AC Milan for even 100 million pounds.”

Amidst the buzz, the matchday quickly arrived, and although the timing wasn’t friendly, CCTV-5 still broadcast the game live.

During the early morning hours of 2-3 am, CCTV-5’s ratings rose considerably.

Even though Serie A matches can be somewhat dull and tedious, Chen Zhong’s presence still attracted a significant number of Chinese fans to tune in. During this period, although various forums had set up ”Asian Players Abroad,” Chen Zhong, playing for Milan, was still the most eye-catching among domestic and even all Asian players.

”The Italian Serie A league round 22 is being broadcast live for you.”

”Lazio versus Milan.”

”The team in blue jerseys is Lazio, and the team in red and black jerseys is Milan.”

”In this game, there are not many changes to the starting lineups on both sides. For Milan, Ronaldinho continues to sit on the bench waiting for his chance, with Seedorf, Kaka, and Pato forming a trident. Despite pre-match rumors of not playing, Beckham is still in the starting lineup, forming Milan’s midfield with Pirlo and Chen Zhong.”
