New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP

As soon as Yu Xian thought of his family and friends waiting for his return, his motivation came rushing back. ”No! I have to pull myself together. Everyone must still be waiting for me to go back!”

He glanced at Eternal Purity ahead of him, then immediately gritted his teeth and flew forward at full speed. At the same time, he fired spatial bubbles from each of his fingers, in ten different directions. The spatial bubbles rapidly scattered like fireworks.

After flying for some distance, Yu Xian instantly teleported from one spatial bubble to another. The scenery around him changed. What entered his sight was a dried-up lake. Eternal Purity was standing right in the center of it, calmly watching his dumbfounded face.

”I refuse to believe this.” Yu Xian gritted his teeth and teleported into another bubble again.

This time, Eternal Purity went even further. She was standing directly in front of him, her expression completely unchanged.

His pupils narrowed, and he teleported away again. ”Again!”

He tried every method he could think of to shake off Eternal Purity. However, whether he flew into the sky or burrowed into the ground, she stuck to him like a stubborn plaster that could not be peeled off.

Half an hour later, Yu Xian was mentally exhausted. He plopped down inside a bubble and stared at Eternal Purity. ”I give up. Auntie, why do you insist on following me? Can’t we just go our separate ways?”

Eternal Purity looked at him. ”If you were walking down the street to buy something at a supermarket, and a passerby happened to be going to the same supermarket as you, would you think he was following you just because he was walking behind you?”

Yu Xian was speechless. ”That’s not the same!”

Eternal Purity smiled. ”How is it not the same? You and I simply happen to be going to the same place.”

Yu Xian looked at Eternal Purity with a face full of suspicion. ”The problem is, I don’t even know where I’m supposed to go, so how could I possibly be going to the same place as you? Im-pos-si-ble!”

He had never wanted to come to this world in the first place. Had he not been targeted by the Extreme Dragon, he would never have run to this lousy place.

Eternal Purity calmly explained, ”Everyone’s fate is like a river. Its waters flow in different directions and arrive at different endings. As it happens, your current and mine flow in the same direction. This is a rare kind of fate. If you find me troublesome, you may simply pretend I do not exist and do whatever you wish to do.”

Yu Xian frowned. ”So, Auntie... what you’re saying is that my fate is the same as yours right now?”

Fortunately, he had Super Brain. Although Eternal Purity had spoken in a vague and roundabout way, he had more or less understood what she meant. The ”same place” she spoke of clearly did not refer to an actual destination. It was an extremely abstract concept. Even so, Yu Xian still did not understand why she had to follow him.

Eternal Purity nodded. ”That is correct.”

Yu Xian got a vague feeling that she would answer every question she was asked, as if she could not lie. He looked at her. ”Even if the flow of our fates is currently the same, why do you have to follow me?”

She explained in an unhurried tone, ”A very, very long time ago, there was a person named Impermanence. They were born with both sexes, which you would understand as an intersex person.

”They were a genius in every definition of the word. Whatever they learned, they grasped instantly. Whatever ability they used, they perfected on the spot. In just one Cosmic Epoch, which is the span of time from a universe’s birth to its destruction, they ascended to a state of near-invincibility.

”To advance even further, they split themself into one man and one woman, one evil and one good. No matter who came out on top, whether the man devoured the woman or the woman consumed the man, their strength would reach a level far greater than before. But if the male side devoured the female side, their personality would become even more evil. At that time, countless worlds would be plunged into misery and suffering.”

Yu Xian looked at her as the realization instantly clicked. ”So, you’re the good side that split off from Impermanence?”

”That is correct. The evil side that split off from Impermanence is named Eternal Bliss. He’s currently searching for my whereabouts. Since my strength is still slightly inferior to his, only by traveling with you can I conceal my existence.”

Yu Xian said helplessly, ”So, what you mean is that you’re using my fate to hide your fate so that he won’t be able to find you?”

She nodded. ”That is correct.”

Yu Xian was worried. ”Then will I be in danger? Are you sure he won’t be able to find you this way?”

Eternal Purity answered without an ounce of deceit, ”This is the Nirvanic Stillness, Eternal Peace. You are the exterior, while I am the interior. Throughout the myriad worlds, none but a Transcendent can detect our presence.”

Yu Xian frowned. ”What if he is a Transcendent?”

Eternal Purity looked at Yu Xian and smiled without saying a word.

However, Yu Xian could tell that she was definitely holding back laughter. ”What’s so funny? Aren’t you afraid he’ll become a Transcendent and find you?”

Eternal Purity asked, ”Do you know what the concept of a Transcendent actually means?”

Yu Xian shook his head. ”No. Probably some kind of... really powerful existence?”

She explained, ”If gods truly exist, then Transcendents are gods in the truest sense. They are omniscient and omnipotent. This is the ultimate pursuit of every single cultivator across the myriad worlds. If Eternal Bliss has already become a Transcendent, then he no longer needs to devour me, because he has already become truly invincible.”

Yu Xian was surprised. ”Then do Transcendents really exist?”

She shook her head. ”I do not know. There are many ancient records documenting the existence of Transcendents, but I have never met one myself, so I cannot be certain whether Transcendents truly exist.”

”Then do you know how someone can become a Transcendent?”

”I do not. Impermanence theorized that by reuniting Eternal Bliss and me, they would move one step closer to becoming a Transcendent. Whether that theory holds any water is something only the final result will tell.”

The final result, naturally, would only be revealed after she devoured Eternal Bliss or Eternal Bliss devoured her.

After listening to the explanation, Yu Xian suddenly realized something. Since Impermanence had been that powerful, then Eternal Purity, who had split off from them, had to be extremely powerful as well. After all, her other half, Eternal Bliss, was pursuing a state as high as Transcendence.

He looked at Eternal Purity. ”Then... can you beat the Extreme Dragon?”

Unexpectedly, she shook her head the moment those words left his mouth. ”The dragon among dragons? No.”

Yu Xian stared at Eternal Purity, utterly speechless. She had just hyped Impermanence up to be this terrifyingly supreme entity. Even if the split had cut their strength in half, a mere half of that strength would still have made her an absolute monster. In the end, she could not even beat the Extreme Dragon. Wasn’t she way too much of a weakling?

Yu Xian sighed, looked at her, and asked again. ”Then what benefit do I get from you following me?”

He could not take on such a huge risk without getting anything in return. After all, with Eternal Purity following him, if Eternal Bliss came knocking one day, Yu Xian would definitely be killed too.

Of course, the main reason he dared to ask Eternal Purity for compensation was that she was a saint!
