Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1493 - 935: Cavalry Battalion, Ding Qiu’s Blade Intent

The ink-like darkness gradually faded, and the morning star dimmed. The horizon was tinged with light blue, then turned orange-yellow. A beam of golden light pierced through the clouds, and the sun rose slowly like a red pearl, dyeing the clouds into a splendid brocade.

The transition between night and day, the switch between sleep and awakening, where tranquility was replaced by slaughter.

As the edge of the sun began to rise slowly, the Nether Prison Sect launched an attack on Wuxiang City.

Tens of thousands of bowstrings formed silver arcs in the morning mist, as the great army of the Nether Prison Sect pressed forward like dark clouds. Arrows began to rain down from the city walls like a swarm of locusts, while dense sparks flared up on black shields before exploding.

The soldiers in the front line were mowed down like sheaves of wheat, while those behind trampled over their comrades’ backs to continue the charge. Blood trickled down between the scales of iron armor, forming dark red streams on the ground.

When the sun climbed to the eaves of the city tower, the entire Wuxiang City was engulfed in a vortex of steel and flesh. The wave of charges crashed against the city walls, the clash of armor sounded like rolling thunder over the wasteland.

In the distance, banners floated amidst the crowd, and each fall elicited an even more intense shout of killing, as if the whole land groaned under the boots, stained into chaotic crimson by the arrow rain and blood mist.

The battle had just begun, and the army of the Nether Prison Sect seemed crazed, launching an attack without regard for consequences.

The powerful assault breached the arrow rain, climbing the walls amidst booming explosions.

”Kill!”

A Mystic Armor Guard with a wolf helm stood on the parapet, pushing left and right, roaring with effort.

The Yujing Guard’s soldiers pounced, attempting to knock him down.

However, before they could push him off, several more Mystic Armor Guards had leapt onto the wall.

The way the Mystic Armor Guards leapt onto the wall now was different; yesterday, they would jump directly after approaching the wall, only to be knocked off by the Yujing Guard’s soldiers mid-air.

But now, they climbed up the wall close to it and only leapt up when near the parapet.

A six-zhang-high wall was insurmountable for ordinary people, but for Innate Martial Artists, it was no more than a hurdle, easily overcome by various methods.

The change in the way the Mystic Armor Guards scaled the wall turned the siege into a brutal battle.

Yang Zhenshan stood atop the gate tower, watching the scene without much of an emotional reaction, as it was expected.

The Nether Prison Sect wasn’t foolish; they naturally adapted after setbacks.

His gaze shifted, looking at the black flying boat suspended in the air.

The massive flying boat hovered in the air like a city, blocking the sunlight of the morning sun, resembling a majestic mountain hanging over the city.

Today’s flying boat was noticeably different from yesterday’s. Yesterday, only a small portion of the array was activated, appearing unremarkable.

But now, the flying boat emanated a heavy wave of spiritual power, with dark yellow streamers flickering, spreading its thick spiritual power waves one after another.

This indicated that the flying boat was activating an array or possibly preparing to attack Wuxiang City.

Meanwhile, there were also ample spiritual power fluctuations spreading within Wuxiang City, as Jian Guyun prepared to activate the defensive array.

”Report~ The battle has spread to the city walls, the Cavalry battalion requests to join the battle!”

A loud voice rang out, pulling Yang Zhenshan’s thoughts back.

He looked down at the distant camp of the Nether Prison Sect and the dense enemy forces outside the city.

The Cavalry battalion was Yujing’s hidden trump card; neither the Sky-shattering Thunder nor the Cloud-piercing Crossbow were their ultimate weapon. The greatest trump card of the Yujing Guard had always been the Cavalry battalion.

Today, the Spirit Source Land had numerous mutant beasts, but only a few were suitable as cavalry mounts.

The Gale Grey Wolf and Cloud Tiger Cub were the most suitable, but their numbers were relatively few; Gale Grey Wolfs numbered just over a hundred, while Cloud Tiger Cubs numbered slightly over three hundred.

Aside from these, the only suitable mounts were the Red Cloud Horses.

The Red Cloud Horses were more abundant, having been bred and propagated for five to six decades in the Spirit Source Land, now numbering over ten thousand.

However, the Red Cloud Horses had clear drawbacks, just barely reaching the Mutant Beast Level.

The Cavalry battalion was formed with the bulk of the Spirit Source Land’s Gale Grey Wolfs and Cloud Tiger Cubs, and from the over ten thousand Red Cloud Horses, three hundred were selected, composing a battalion of six hundred cavalry.

At this moment, on the broad avenue within the city, six hundred cavalry were fully prepared, with Yang Minghao, Ding Qiu, and Yang Mingwu each riding a Second-Order Green Wolf, while Yang Mingzhi, Song Dashan, and Yang Chengxu each rode a Second-Order Cloud Tiger Cub.

They were followed by the six hundred cavalry of the battalion.

”Permission granted for the cavalry battalion to engage!”

Qu Changkong ordered loudly.

”Kill!”

Upon hearing Qu Changkong’s command, Yang Minghao roared without hesitation, taking the lead and soaring into the sky.

Awooo~~

The Gale Grey Wolf let out a resounding howl.

Six hundred cavalry flew into the sky, over the walls, and charged out of the city.

Spears danced, their tips slicing through the remaining grayness of dawn like lightning.

Yang Minghao led the charge into the enemy lines; he was the Third Master of the Yang family and one of the three leaders of Jade Capital.

By rights, this battle should have been commanded by him, but with veteran generals like Qu Changkong present in the Spirit Source Land, the command wasn’t his.

The army of the Nether Prison Sect surged toward Wuxiang City like a tide, while the six hundred cavalry charged back like waves crashing against a reef. The two sides collided with a resounding din.
