Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1475 - 926: Purging the Spirit Source Land

Yang Mingzhao looked at the document in his hand, then at the list behind it, and his face suddenly turned dark.

”All these people need to be arrested?”

”That’s right!”

”What are the charges?”

”Disregard for rules, exploiting power for personal gain!”

”No room for negotiation?”

”I’m only here to execute orders!” said Yang Qinhua.

Yang Mingzhao’s mouth twitched, but he still waved his hand and said, ”Arrest them, arrest them!”

The document had the seal of Ziwei Tower and Yang Chengmao’s signature. Being the fourth uncle, he really couldn’t disobey.

”Arrest them!” Yang Qinhua waved to the soldiers behind him, and a group of soldiers rushed upstairs to arrest people as per the list without hesitation.

”Wait, Yang Jilin needs to be arrested too!” Yang Mingzhao said, looking at a young man being captured by the soldiers.

”Ancestor, save me, ancestor, save me!” The young man cried out upon seeing Yang Mingzhao.

”Arrest everyone on the list!” Yang Qinhua ordered.

Yang Mingzhao frowned and looked at the list in his hand again, the more he looked, the deeper his frown became.

There were indeed quite a few names on the list, and just from Kaiyang Tower, there were seven. Moreover, the list included names from the neighboring Heavenly Treasure Tower.

”What’s happening here?”

He was somewhat puzzled.

No one had mentioned this matter to him before, and as the tower lord of Kaiyang Tower, he usually had a relaxed role without much to do.

”Alright, alright, stop arguing, you go with them first!” He was annoyed by Yang Jilin’s cries for help.

This Yang Jilin was Yang Chengmao’s grandnephew, who was also Yang Chengxian’s actual grandson, not yet forty years old, and he had only been in his position at Kaiyang Tower for a few years.

Yang Mingzhao decided to head to Ziwei Tower to inquire.

Such a big incident, and they didn’t even inform him in advance, it was really excessive.

However, as soon as Yang Mingzhao left Kaiyang Tower, he realized that today’s event was even bigger than he imagined!

On the streets, there were soldiers in armor everywhere, and the sound of arresting people was noisy everywhere, everyone seemed extremely panicked.

Yang Mingzhao shook his head and then went to Ziwei Tower where it was even more bustling, and many people were rushing in.

”Brother!”

Yang Mingzhao saw Yang Mingcheng and called out.

”Fourth brother, you’re here too!”

”Yes! What’s going on here?”

”I don’t know either!”

”You don’t know at all!” Yang Mingzhao looked at Yang Mingcheng in surprise.

”No, I don’t!” Yang Mingcheng shook his head and said, ”Several of my subordinates have been arrested!”

The two brothers entered Ziwei Tower, and before seeing Yang Chengmao, they were invited to the top floor.

Upon entering the study, they saw a familiar figure.

”Father!”

Yang Zhenshan was sitting at the desk, studying the list for this arrest.

Not searching is not knowing; once searched, it was shocking.

Since he began the large-scale migration of population to Spirit Source Land, it had been more than sixty years, and during these sixty years, Spirit Source Land had steadily developed, seemingly everything was progressing smoothly, thriving.

However, over time, corruption had inevitably festered, and Yang Zhenshan hadn’t realized the extent of corruption in Spirit Source Land had become so severe.

Corruption was rampant, exploiting power for personal gain, under-the-table dealings in resource distribution, all leading to embezzlement of spiritual materials.

”Kneel over there!” Yang Zhenshan pointed aside and said.

”Ah!” Yang Mingcheng was shocked.

”What? Unwilling?” Yang Zhenshan looked up and glared at them.

”No, no ~”

The two immediately knelt down.

Yang Zhenshan ignored them, continuing to review the issues uncovered by Tianshu Tower.

The issues were numerous, though most were related to embezzlement, some were quite egregious.

”Which branch is Yang Jilin from?”

Yang Mingzhao said, ”Jilin is Chengxian’s grandson, ranked thirty-seventh in the Ji generation!”

”Heh, forcefully taking women, bullying the good and honest, hmm, truly a good grandson of the Yang family! For such a person to be in Kaiyang Tower, Mingzhao, are all your people like this?” Yang Zhenshan looked up at Yang Mingzhao.

After living in peaceful times for too long, people inevitably became lax.

Yang Mingzhao was a typical example.

As the tower lord of Kaiyang Tower, he was idle daily; if not fishing, he was hunting, living a carefree and comfortable life.

Yang Mingzhao lowered his head, ”Father, it’s my fault for not restraining my subordinates well!”

At this moment, two more people entered, none other than Yang Mingzhi and Yang Minghao!

”Just in time, kneel together!”

Yang Zhenshan gestured with his mouth, indicating for the two to kneel.

The two brothers, seeing their older and fourth brother kneeling there, without saying a word, also kneeled down.

After they knelt, Yang Zhenshan closed his eyes to rest.

In reality, although the problems in Spirit Source Land are significant, they mostly concentrate on corruption, with only a few egregious incidents.

Such issues are unavoidable; any internal force will face such circumstances, and Spirit Source Land has been relatively good.

Yang Zhenshan had no easy solution to handle such problems.

Of course, punishments must still be carried out.

Especially the four brothers in front of him, it was due to their leniency that Spirit Source Land found itself in this condition.

After a while, Yang Chengye and Yang Chengmao arrived together.

”Grandfather!” The two glanced at their kneeling uncles and father, bowed, and greeted.

”Everyone is arrested?”

”They have all been imprisoned!” Yang Chengmao said.

”No resistance?”

”None!”

”Hmph, at least they know better!”

Yang Zhenshan snorted coldly and said, ”The rest of the matters are up to you to handle. Punish according to the law!”

”This!” Yang Chengmao was somewhat troubled.

”What’s the matter?”

”Should Jilin also be punished according to the law?”

Yang Zhenshan said indifferently, ”Forcefully taking women, bullying the good and honest; how should it be punished according to the law?”
