Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1473 - 925: A Gentle Reminder—What Should and Should Not Be Done!

Jian Changhe assertively seated himself in the main position, while everyone else stood in the hall in sequence.

Su Zheng, as the Sect Master of Xuanqing Sect, stood at the forefront of the Xuanqing Sect elders, and Yue Qing, being the Sect Master of Illusion Moon Sect, stood separately, with only Liu Yue behind.

Yang Zhenshan, Yun Xiao, and Yun Xi stood off to the side.

Jian Changhe swept his sharp gaze over everyone in the hall, his domineering and imposing pressure enveloping all present.

Finally, his gaze landed on Yang Zhenshan.

”Yang Zhenshan of the Yang family!” His clear voice rang out.

Yang Zhenshan stepped forward, cupping his hands and bowing, ”Your subordinate is present!”

Since the Yang family was to pledge allegiance to Hidden Sword Mountain, it was appropriate for Yang Zhenshan to call himself a subordinate.

Jian Changhe was very pleased with Yang Zhenshan’s attitude and said, ”From today onwards, the Yang family will replace the Wuxiang Sect and become one of the Spirit Origin Three Sects.”

The Yang family is not a sect but rather a family; however, this is irrelevant. Whether a sect or a family, as long as it can uphold the name of the Spirit Origin Three Sects, it will suffice.

”Thank you for the Mountain Master’s favor!” Yang Zhenshan replied.

This was something that had been agreed upon long ago; if not for this, Yang Zhenshan would not have needed to pledge allegiance to Hidden Sword Mountain.

Of course, this is just the beginning. Whether the Yang family can replace the Wuxiang Sect still depends on whether they can fend off the Nether Prison Sect’s attack on the Sea of Spirit.

”The mountain gate and Wuxiang City of the Wuxiang Sect will be taken over by the Yang family. Discuss among yourselves how you will take control!” Jian Changhe continued.

Hearing this, Su Zheng also bowed, ”Your subordinate will comply with the Mountain Master’s decree!”

Jian Changhe nodded, calling out again, ”Yun Xiao!”

”Your subordinate is present!”

”Yun Xi!”

”Your subordinate is present!”

”Liu Yue!”

”Your subordinate is present!”

The three stepped forward and bowed in response.

”From today onwards, all of you will serve as Guest Elders of Hidden Sword Mountain, and in addition, the Mountain Master will establish a Guest Elder Hall in the Sea of Spirit, with Yang Zhenshan as the Hall Master and Yun Xiao as the Vice Hall Master.”

”The Guest Elder Hall will oversee all matters concerning the Immortal Cultivators in the Sea of Spirit, independent of the Three Sects, and is responsible for supervising the affairs within the Sea of Spirit!”

Jian Changhe declared.

Upon hearing this, everyone was stunned.

Independent of the Three Sects and responsible for overseeing matters in the Sea of Spirit?

This means that the Guest Elder Hall is to become separate from the Three Sects, using it to monitor them and the entire Sea of Spirit.

Moreover, the Guest Elder Hall will handle all matters concerning Immortal Cultivators, meaning it will strip the power of the Immortal Cultivators away from the Three Sects.

Not so for Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect, but not for the Yang family.

There’s no issue with stripping the Immortal Cultivators away from the sects, but it is impossible to strip them from the family.

The purpose of Jian Changhe’s arrangement is clear: to prevent the Spirit Origin Three Sects from conspiring together and deviating from Hidden Sword Mountain.

Yang Zhenshan quickly grasped Jian Changhe’s intent.

As to why he was made the Hall Master of the Guest Elder Hall, it is simple; even though he has a good relationship with Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect, he is not the leader of these two sects.

The Yang family, although it may replace the Wuxiang Sect, is not a true sect, and compared to the two sects, its foundation and prestige are far inferior.

Jian Changhe made him the Hall Master to boost the Yang family’s prestige in the Sea of Spirit, balancing that of Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect.

”We shall comply!”

Understanding Jian Changhe’s purpose, Yang Zhenshan accepted his appointment as the Hall Master of the Guest Elder Hall without hesitation.

Even if he were unwilling to accept, it was not the time to express that, as doing so would be a slap in the face to Jian Changhe.

”Very good!”

Jian Changhe nodded in satisfaction.

Subsequently, Jian Changhe spoke of several matters, primarily concerning the arrangements for Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect.

Overall, Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect are to maintain their original independence, but henceforth both sects will be tributaries of Hidden Sword Mountain and must follow its orders.

The same applies to the Yang family.

As a subordinate to Hidden Sword Mountain, the mountain has the right to meddle within the Yang family.

Yang Zhenshan did not oppose this.

Whether Hidden Sword Mountain can meddle in the Yang family depends not on what Jian Changkong says, but on whether Yang Zhenshan is willing to listen.

As the saying goes, the Yang family is not the Xuanqing Sect or the Illusion Moon Sect; the two sects’ roots are in the Sea of Spirit, while the Yang family’s roots are in the Spirit Source Land.

Hidden Sword Mountain can intervene in the Sea of Spirit but not in the Spirit Source Land.

Now that Yang Zhenshan’s goal has been achieved, he can have Hidden Sword Mountain serve as a shield while the Yang family simply stands behind it.

Once the arrangements were about completed, Jian Changhe looked at Yang Zhenshan again.

”What do you intend to arrange in Wuxiang City?”

Yang Zhenshan said, ”Rest assured, Mountain Master, the defense of Wuxiang City will be handled by the Yang family!”

Wuxiang City is located east of the Sea of Spirit, serving as the frontline for the war between the Nether Prison Sect and the Sea of Spirit.

The previous major battleground was on the eastern side of Wuxiang City, and although the Nether Prison Sect never reached the city walls, it is undoubtedly the focal point of their conflict.

”In that case, your Yang family should quickly take over the Wuxiang Sect and Wuxiang City!”

Jian Changhe did not probe further into how the Yang family would defend Wuxiang City, understanding that they differ from the two sects and cannot be treated the same way.

He values Yang Zhenshan for his abilities and strength; after all, Yang Zhenshan is not only a Second-rank Alchemist but also possesses a Spiritual Artifact, his strength being comparable to Jian Changhe’s.

The second reason is that Yang Zhenshan is a Guest Elder of the Ten Thousand Treasures Store, and in the future, Jian Changhe might need many dealings there, necessitating Yang Zhenshan’s contact with the higher-ups of the store.
