Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1468 - 922: Nether Prison Sect’s Actions (2)

There are about twenty martial arts families and seventy to eighty small villages and towns, with a total population dependent on Yang Family Town barely exceeding a hundred thousand.

With three thousand Yujing Guard patrolling, the atmosphere inside and outside Yang Family Town immediately became stable. The previously panicked and uneasy people felt much more at ease seeing the teams of patrolling soldiers.

And those loose cultivators who were originally active near Yang Family Town also retreated one by one.

Perhaps they weren’t afraid of the soldiers, but they didn’t want to engage in conflict with these fully armed troops. They were merely looking for opportunities amidst the chaos.

Yang Family Town had settled down, but the chaos in the Sea of Spirit had just begun.

The entire Sea of Spirit was witnessing scenes of plundering and slaughter, tragedies occurring one after another, casting an atmosphere of tragedy over the entire region.

In the past, the Three Sects were dominant, oppressing many families and clans, but despite the oppression, the Sea of Spirit could still maintain a stable order.

Now, however, the Three Sects could only fend for themselves, unable to maintain order in the Sea of Spirit, which immediately descended into chaos.

Yet this was only the beginning.

Yang Family Town, in the Yang Family’s main hall.

Yang Zhenshan had just returned from escorting Li Shangyuan to Ancient County City when Lv Hua delivered some very bad news.

”It has been confirmed that the Nether Prison Sect is gathering troops, and unless unexpected circumstances arise, they will launch an attack on the Sea of Spirit within half a month!”

Lv Hua said in a low voice.

In the hall, Yang Zhenshan stroked his beard, his brow furrowed.

Chen Zhongshu said, ”An attack by the Nether Prison Sect on the Sea of Spirit was expected, but we didn’t think they would be so impatient!”

”It’s probably due to Han Jiangche’s disappearance in the Wuxiang Sect!” An Yuxing interjected.

Liang Shengze also spoke, ”Regardless of the reason, the problem now is that the Sea of Spirit doesn’t have enough strength to withstand the Nether Prison Sect’s assault!”

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, ”Indeed, the Sea of Spirit doesn’t have the power to resist the Nether Prison Sect!”

The Nether Prison Sect may have lost Han Jiangche, but they still had three Divine Soul Realm Martial Artists.

Currently, the only notable powerhouse the Sea of Spirit has is Yun Xiao.

Yun Xiao is very strong, his prowess in Sword Dao can crush late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators, but compared to Divine Soul Realm Martial Artists, he is likely still a step behind.

If it’s just a matter of entangling, Yun Xiao might be able to delay them, but in a life-and-death battle, Yun Xiao is likely not a match for a Divine Soul Realm Martial Artist.

Moreover, the Nether Prison Sect has three Divine Soul Realm Martial Artists.

”Can the Xuanqing Sect request White Cloud Immortal City to intervene for mediation?” An Yuxing asked.

Yang Zhenshan shook his head slightly, ”White Cloud Immortal City might intervene, but they definitely won’t side with the Xuanqing Sect!”

White Cloud Immortal City currently prefers stability around the Yunxiao Mountain Range and doesn’t want to see any turmoil.

Therefore, they definitely won’t allow the Nether Prison Sect to start a large-scale and long-lasting war.

But they also won’t uphold the interests of the Xuanqing Sect. If they intervene, it’s likely that they will require the Sea of Spirit to concede some benefits, satisfying the demands of the Nether Prison Sect to cease hostilities.

Once this happens, even if the Nether Prison Sect enters the Sea of Spirit, regardless of how much territory they occupy, the future authority in the Sea of Spirit would center around the Nether Prison Sect.

Whether it’s the Xuanqing Sect, the Illusion Moon Sect, or the Yang family, in the future, they would all have to act according to the whims of the Nether Prison Sect.

This is an outcome Yang Zhenshan doesn’t want to see.

He dislikes the Nether Prison Sect or, rather, he doesn’t want them to become the sole dominator in the Sea of Spirit.

”Can the Xuanqing Sect find external aid?” An Yuxing asked.

Yang Zhenshan thought for a moment, ”For external aid, only the Hidden Sword Mountain might help, but it’s uncertain if they are willing to intervene! Moreover, it’s uncertain if Hidden Sword Mountain can withstand the Nether Prison Sect!”

Hidden Sword Mountain has a deep foundation, but it lacks Golden Core cultivators and Divine Soul Realm Martial Artists, so it might struggle to resist the Nether Prison Sect.

While Yang Zhenshan was considering if Hidden Sword Mountain had any other hidden cards, he suddenly felt a fluctuation from a communication talisman.

”First, you all guard this side of Yang Family Town well. Don’t worry about the other matters.”

”I have some matters to attend to first!”

After throwing out this sentence, Yang Zhenshan’s figure disappeared from the hall.

The next moment, he found himself in a courtyard on Moon Mountain of Illusion Moon Sect.

A soul crow flapped its wings and landed on his shoulder, cawing twice.

Yang Zhenshan looked up and saw a communication talisman striking the protective array.

With a wave of his hand, the communication talisman fell into his palm.

He then opened the array, allowing Liu Yue to enter.

”Senior!” Liu Yue let out a sigh of relief upon seeing Yang Zhenshan.

”What’s the matter?” Yang Zhenshan asked casually.

Previously, he had promised Yue Qing to be stationed at Illusion Moon Sect, but during this period, he hadn’t seemed to visit the Illusion Moon Sect much.

Fortunately, he had left a soul crow here to receive any communications from this place at any time.

As his Divine Soul grew stronger, his soul crow became more lively, no longer inferior to an ordinary crow. Not only could it move on its own, but it also knew to contact him proactively when situations arose.

Liu Yue said, ”The Sect Master invites you to the Mirror Abyss Pavilion!”

”Oh, let’s go then!” Yang Zhenshan could roughly guess why Yue Qing was seeking him. If his guess was correct, it should be related to the Nether Prison Sect’s actions.

As he had expected, upon arriving at the Mirror Abyss Pavilion, Yue Qing immediately brought up the Nether Prison Sect.

”Three days ago, the Nether Prison Sect sent an emissary demanding that we hand over Han Jiangche. If we don’t, they will stop at nothing to destroy the three sects of Lingxiu!”

Inside the Mirror Abyss Pavilion, Yue Qing spoke wearily.

”An emissary! Where is the emissary?” Yang Zhenshan asked in surprise.

”At the Xuanqing Sect!” Lei Qing replied.

Yang Zhenshan chuckled, ”Han Jiangche is just an excuse!”

The Nether Prison Sect can’t possibly be unaware of the incidents in Wuxiang Sect. Even if they’re looking for someone, they shouldn’t be asking the three sects of Lingxiu, but rather the Unpredictable Ghost Sect.

Moreover, since the Wuxiang Sect has already disbanded, and the Wuxiang Sect’s mountain gate has been taken over by the Xuanqing Sect.

The biggest victims of the Wuxiang Sect’s events were indeed the three sects of Lingxiu, so even if the Nether Prison Sect wanted to seek revenge, they shouldn’t target the three sects of Lingxiu.

”We all know it’s just an excuse!” Yue Qing said.

”What ideas do you have?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

Yue Qing fell silent for a while before replying, ”Yun Xiao has already gone to Hidden Sword Mountain, but it’s unlikely they will intervene! They might even wish for our demise!”

Yang Zhenshan pondered, ”Not necessarily. If Hidden Sword Mountain still wants a share of the Sea of Spirit, they won’t let the Nether Prison Sect take over it!”

Yue Qing looked up at Yang Zhenshan, her eyes full of hope, ”Elder Yang, do you have any other ideas?”

She had been under immense pressure during this period. The changing situation in the Sea of Spirit seemed like invisible hands pushing her step by step into a bottomless abyss.

At this moment, she seemed to be on the verge of despair. Hidden Sword Mountain might be a glimmer of hope, and Yang Zhenshan before her might be her last straw.

However, Yang Zhenshan shook his head, ”I don’t have a better plan!”

”What about White Jade City?” Yue Qing’s eyes showed clarity as she asked.

Yang Zhenshan fell silent.

Could he admit that White Jade City was just something he made up?

Well, now the Spirit Source Land had indeed changed to Jade City, but this Jade City was not the White Jade City he previously mentioned.

In the heavens, the White Jade City, twelve floors and five cities, the immortal strokes my brow, upholding longevity.

The Spirit Source Land has a fake White Jade City, but lacks a fake immortal.

At this point, he didn’t even know how to fabricate more lies?

Of course, he surely wouldn’t slap himself in the face; he has created this mess, and even if it’s a bitter pill, he must swallow it.

What else can he do, just continue weaving the tale!
