Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 239: Chapter 230 Unstoppable

Abatai is the chieftain of the Zhaerzi, as well as a Gu Shan chieftain conferred by the Da Rong Royal Court.

Compared to the Tumoge Clan, the Zhaerzi are much stronger, boasting nearly three thousand able-bodied men. Compared to Zha Yan, Abatai is much younger, just over thirty this year.

Zha Yan’s dislike for the Zhaerzi stems from two main reasons. On one hand, Abatai, the junior, shows great disrespect toward him, a senior; in their past encounters, he has felt Abatai’s arrogance.

On the other hand, the Zhaerzi have been growing increasingly powerful, far surpassing the Tumoge Clan.

It should be known that ten years ago, the Tumoge Clan was much stronger than the Zhaerzi. At that time, Abatai’s father was the chieftain of the Zhaerzi and always considered Zha Yan a brother.

However, ever since Abatai became the chieftain, the Zhaerzi have grown stronger and now far exceed the Tumoge Clan in power.

The once ”little brother” has become stronger than himself and has become increasingly disrespectful. This is why Zha Yan loathes the Zhaerzi.

This time, upon becoming neighbors, Zha Yan initially felt very uncomfortable, but no matter how uncomfortable, he couldn’t just drive away the Zhaerzi. After all, they are now stronger than the Tumoge Clan, so he had to swallow his bitterness.

However, now is clearly not the time for dwelling on this matter; at this moment, Zha Yan and the Tumoge Clan urgently need the support of the Zhaerzi.

Within the Zhaerzi settlement.

Abatai sat in the felt tent, looking at the Tumoge warriors who had come to seek help, his slightly gaunt face showing a look of utmost solemnity.

Yesterday, he received a request from Zha Yan, and to be honest, he didn’t take it very seriously at the time.

Firstly, because he didn’t like Zha Yan either, nor did he want to help him.

Secondly, because he didn’t think the Da Rong garrison camps were very strong, nor did he believe that the Da Rong garrisons could pose a threat to the Zhaerzi.

Actually, his mentality was similar to Zha Yan’s before; they both regarded the Da Rong garrison as sheep entering a pack of wolves.

But now, he suddenly felt that something was amiss.

The Zhaerzi were indeed much stronger than the Tumoge Clan, but the Tumoge Clan was not weak in its power.

Among the hundreds of Hu Clan tribes in the East Sea, the strength of the Tumoge Clan could also rank in the upper-middle.

Yet such a clan has been terrified!

Yes, terrified.

Seeing the Tumoge warrior before him, with a face full of fear, Abatai felt it was almost unbelievable.

”Chieftain Abatai, please save us today for the sake of our past relations!”

”Our chieftain has said that if Chieftain Abatai is willing to send troops to support us, the Tumoge will follow your lead in the future!”

The kneeling Tumoge warrior pleaded.

Abatai took a deep breath, then slowly stood up, ”Wuge, Alsu, gather your men and follow me!”

At this moment, he was curious about that Da Rong army; he wanted to see just how strong that Da Rong army was, how it managed to scare the Tumoge into this state.

Seeing this, the Tumoge warrior on the ground was overjoyed, ”Chieftain Abatai is benevolent, the Tumoge will surely remember your grace!”

Abatai didn’t say anything, put on his armor, picked up his long knife, and quickly stepped out of the felt tent.

But as soon as he exited the tent, he heard a report from his subordinates, ”Chieftain, there are Da Rong cavalry on the east side.”

”What?” Abatai’s face darkened, ”How many?”

”Only six!”

”Six!”

Abatai breathed a sigh of relief; it was just six people. He then understood that these must be Da Rong scouts, possibly following those of the Tumoge.

”Let’s go! Ignore them for now!”

With a brief thought, he led hundreds of cavalries toward the direction of the Tumoge at full speed.

In fact, they couldn’t do anything about them even if they wanted to; once Yang Mingzhen confirmed the location of Alz, he ran off like smoke.

He certainly did not think he could confront an entire clan, nor did he want to be chased around like a rabbit again.

Soon, Yang Mingzhen returned to the small hill on the east side of Tumoge and met up with Yang Zhenshan.

”Sir, ten miles west, there’s a large Hu Zei clan, and it seems they’ve already sent troops over here!”

Yang Zhenshan frowned upon hearing this.

There’s another clan so close by!

”How many?”

”Probably around six or seven hundred!” Yang Mingzhen said uncertainly.

In order to report back as quickly as possible, he had not observed in detail.

Yang Zhenshan thought for a moment, then glanced at the cavalry and Iron Armor infantry beside him.

The nearby Tumoge clan seemed to still have a not-so-weak fighting force, and now a new wave of enemies was coming.

The situation did not seem very good.

If caught in a pincer attack by these two groups of enemies, he could lead the cavalry to break out, but what about the Iron Armor infantry?

After another look at the distant Tumoge, Yang Zhenshan nearly made a decision in an instant.

They couldn’t wait for another wave of enemies to arrive, nor could they wait for the Tumoge Hu Zei to react.

”Cavalry, follow me; infantry, hold your positions!”

After saying that, he led three hundred cavalrymen and charged toward the west.

At this moment, Yang Zhenshan felt like he was playing a game, one shrouded in the fog of war where he didn’t know where the enemy was located, nor when they might encounter the enemy.

Enemies could appear at any time, just as a group of enemies could suddenly spring from the grass next to them.

Faced with the sudden appearance of enemies, there were only two choices: flee or fight.

The choice must be decisive; there must be no hesitation, or else one would miss the opportunity or fall into a passive situation.

If one were to look down from the sky at this moment, they would see two groups of cavalry, separated by several small hills, closing in on each other at great speed.

The clattering of hooves, Yang Zhenshan sat on Red Cloud, his eyes exceptionally bright.

He heard the sound of hooves, many hooves.

It wasn’t just the sound of hooves next to him, but also from ahead, from the other side of the small hill.

The sounds grew nearer and clearer.

The corner of his mouth curled slightly upward.

His keen hearing had such an effect, which both surprised and delighted him.

But the delight was short-lived, for he had already seen the Northern barbarian cavalry charging towards him.

Both sides almost simultaneously rounded the southern side of the hill and came into each others’ sight.

Looking left and right, this place was a mountain pass, with gentle slopes on both sides, and the middle area was flat and even, obviously a frequented path, already carved into a road.

Only the brave prevails in a narrow path!

There was no time to think further; Yang Zhenshan hung his long spear onto the saddle and reached behind to draw out two Short Spears!

The soldiers behind him gripped their long spears tightly, their determined faces following closely behind him.

Yang Zhenshan had always had a simple understanding of cavalry: to charge.

No matter what is ahead, charge first then talk.

Even if it means charging to death.

If death must come, it should be on the path of charging forward, not stopping and tangling with the enemy.

This was also the philosophy and belief he imparted to his cavalry.

Facing the oncoming Northern barbarian cavalry, almost reflexively the soldiers raised their long spears, leaned low, and prepared to charge.

On the other side, when Abatai saw the approaching Da Rong cavalry, he was momentarily stunned, then seeing they seemed to be fewer than his men, his eyes suddenly sharpened.

The two forces encountered very abruptly, and due to the obstruction of the hill, the distance between them when they saw each other was only a mere hundred yards or so.

Abatai was also very decisive; with such a distance and such terrain, there was no other choice but to engage in head-on conflict, as stopping or evading was impossible.

”Kill!”

Abatai let out a roar and charged forth at the forefront.

Spear tip against wheat stalk.

The two cavalry forces drew increasingly close, their speed ever faster.

In the blink of an eye, the distance between them was less than thirty yards.

Whoosh whoosh~~

Two Short Spears were thrown out from Yang Zhenshan’s hands.

Ah ah~~

Immediately screams erupted from behind Abatai.

The thrown Short Spears, with their terrifying force, each pierced through at least two men’s chests, the power also flinging their bodies backwards.

Under the tight formation of the charge, a sudden chaos erupted.

Though possibly only a few were injured, the resulting chaos significantly slowed the momentum of the charge.

Abatai was shocked, but at this point, he could no longer afford to pay attention to others, because Yang Zhenshan was already upon him.

He saw Yang Zhenshan’s face, regular and ruddy, black and flowing beard, sharp and profound eyes.

Within the golden helmet, those sharp eyes pierced his heart like a sword.

No!

Not a sword, but a speartip!

Abatai had just raised his long blade when a six-inch spearhead, like a venomous snake, viciously plunged into his chest.

There was a muffled sound of thunder in his ears, sparks flew from the Heart Protector on his chest, and then it shattered upon impact.

Thump!

Then Abatai felt a sharp pain in his chest, his body lifted high.

His vision flipped, and he saw the determined faces, saw the warriors who had followed him.

Blood flew, spraying in the air, drizzling on Iron Armor, stones, and the freshly sprouted grass.

Thud.

Abatai fell on the hillside, his eyes lifeless, witnessing a battle that was an overwhelming rout.

Crushing, a complete and utter devastation.

In the narrow terrain, opposing forces in an unyielding charge.

Under such circumstances, Yang Zhenshan could unleash the strongest combat power, Red Cloud could display the most terrifying strength.

Just how powerful was Yang Zhenshan at the Postnatal Seventh Layer, this was actually a relative concept.

If speaking purely of strength, lifting a thousand pounds was effortless.

And how terrifying the long spear he wielded.

Man and horse alike were flung away.

What about Red Cloud wearing Iron Armor?

A bulldozer!

Man and horse combined, hardly less powerful than a bulldozer.

Yang Zhenshan led the way, scattering the Northern barbarian’s formation, and three hundred Cavalry followed, reaping life after life.

If yesterday’s battle was just a small test of the knife, then today’s battle displayed the most terrifying combat power of the garrison Cavalry.

Under Yang Zhenshan’s leadership, that unstoppable terror.

Abatai watched the blood-soaked battle, a thick fear emerging in his eyes.

At this moment, he finally understood why the people of the Tumoge Clan were so fearful.
