Divine Level Witch Doctor

Brother Tian scurried ahead, leading Zhao Yuan and the others toward his bar. He was so reverent that if you stuck a tail on him, he’d be a pug.

At the same time, he didn’t forget to send men to catch Xing Hong.

The lackeys he sent were the very same ones he had just slapped around, his reason being that this was their chance to atone for their mistake.

These lackeys, their faces bruised and swollen from Brother Tian’s slaps, didn’t dare blame Brother Tian or Zhao Yuan. So, they transferred all their resentment onto Xing Hong.

After receiving their orders, they grew more excited than the last, gritting their teeth and vowing, ”Brother Tian, don’t you worry. Even if Xing Hong runs to the ends of the earth, we’ll drag him back to you and the Master! That son of a bitch, daring to trick us into moving against the Master! It’s... even if an uncle can stand it, an aunt can’t!”

Yang Zi couldn’t stand it anymore and retorted, ”What ’even if an uncle can stand it, an aunt can’t’? Could you please try reading a book? The saying is, ’If this can be endured, what cannot?!’”

Brother Tian nodded hastily and didn’t forget to lecture his lackeys. ”Did you hear that? From now on, you all better read more! Don’t just go around chopping people up all day! You have no class, no ambition!”

The lackeys were dumbfounded.

’Read more books and chop up fewer people? Have class and ambition?’

’Boss, we’re gangsters, not university students trying to get our master’s or PhDs!’

On one side, Zhao Yuan’s group of eight left with Brother Tian.

Meanwhile, in an alleyway on the other side, Xing Hong finished his cigarette, raised an eyebrow, and said, ”Hey, how come it’s gone quiet outside?”

Haozi tilted his head and listened for a moment, then nodded. ”It is quiet. It’s probably over, right?”

Xing Hong sneered a few times, then curled his lip in disdain. ”I thought that kid was supposed to be tough. Turns out he’s all show and no go. Did he really chicken out after just a few minutes? Pathetic!”

Just as he was speaking, he saw Brother Tian’s lackeys passing by the mouth of the alley.

The lackeys didn’t see Xing Hong, but he was ecstatic to see them. He waved his arms frantically and shouted, ”Brothers, here! I’m over here!”

Hearing the voice, the lackeys turned their heads, saw Xing Hong, and froze on the spot.

After a moment of stunned silence, they began to whisper among themselves:

”Is this guy an idiot?”

”We’re here to mess him up, and he’s this happy to see us? Did he get his head caught in a door or something?”

”Works for us, though. Saves us the trouble of looking for him!”

The lackeys immediately broke into sinister grins and walked toward Xing Hong.

In his excitement, Xing Hong didn’t notice anything wrong with their smiles. He even went up to greet them, asking, ”So? Did you get my stuff back? Where is it? And did you guys give that kid a good beating? Was it bad? Whoa, hey, what happened to you guys? Why are your faces so swollen? Which bastard hit you? They must have a death wish! I Curse them to die a horrible death!”

The lackeys were instantly furious. They said coldly, ”Xing Hong, you’ve got some nerve, daring to Curse Brother Tian to die a horrible death!”

”I... I didn’t...” Xing Hong was dumbfounded. ”I Cursed the people who beat you up.”

”The one who beat us up was Brother Tian!” the lackeys replied.

”Huh?” Xing Hong’s jaw dropped, his face a mask of disbelief.

’What’s going on with Brother Tian? Why would he hit his own men? Is this that legendary ”when I go crazy, I even hit my own people” thing? That’s too intense, too brutal!’

Before Xing Hong could ask, the lackeys had already swarmed him, surrounding him completely.

Only then did Xing Hong realize something was wrong. He asked in alarm, ”Guys, what are you doing?”

”What are we doing? Beating the shit out of you, of course!” one lackey roared, kicking Xing Hong hard in the leg and knocking him straight to the ground. The others immediately piled on, holding him down and pummeling him.

”AH! It hurts! Why are you hitting me? You took my money and you’re still hitting me! This is insane! I get it, you’re trying to take my money and keep my goods for yourselves!”

At first, Xing Hong still had the strength to curse them out. Before long, he didn’t even have the energy to beg for mercy, only to scream in agony.

Once they’d vented their frustration, the lackeys stopped, hauled Xing Hong up from the ground, and began dragging him away.

”What are you doing? Where are you taking me?” the bruised and battered Xing Hong asked in a panic.

One of the lackeys answered, ”To see the Master!”

”Master? What master?” Xing Hong looked completely lost.

’What’s happening? Where did a master suddenly come from?’

In a daze, Xing Hong was brought to Brother Tian’s bar.

Right now, besides Brother Tian, only Zhao Yuan’s group of eight was in the bar.

There had been men and women drinking and dancing, but Zhao Yuan’s group found it too noisy, so Brother Tian immediately had his lackeys kick all the customers out.

In Brother Tian’s eyes, offending customers was no big deal. Even if no one ever came to his bar again and it went out of business, he wouldn’t care. But if he offended Zhao Yuan, his illness couldn’t be cured, and he would be a dead man. He knew very well which was more important.

So, when Xing Hong was brought into the bar, not only were the lights bright, but the DJ was also playing soft, gentle music. This greatly confused Xing Hong, who had partied here before. ’Since when did Brother Tian’s taste get so high-class?’

”Brother Tian, Master, we’ve brought Xing Hong.”

The lackeys dragged Xing Hong in front of Zhao Yuan.

”It’s you? You’re the Master?” Xing Hong asked in surprise.

Without waiting for Zhao Yuan’s command, Brother Tian’s eyes widened as he barked, ”Shut up! I’ll beat you to death if you dare be rude to the Master!”

Zhao Yuan gave a slight wave of his hand, and Brother Tian immediately shut his mouth, more obedient than a pet dog.

Xing Hong’s jaw dropped in shock. He couldn’t figure out why Brother Tian, who had always presented himself as a vicious thug, would be so respectful to this young man.

’Does this young man have some powerful background? Or is it that Brother Tian, who seems so ferocious, is actually a masochist?’

While his mind reeled with confusion, Zhao Yuan spoke. ”Boss Xing, I’m curious. I already paid you for the item. Why weren’t you satisfied? Why did you pay a high price to hire these people to come after me?”

Xing Hong snorted, rolled his eyes, and said nothing, adopting an uncooperative stance.

Brother Tian immediately slapped him across the face, making Xing Hong’s already bruised and swollen cheek swell up even more. He threatened viciously, ”The Master is asking you a question, are you playing dumb? I’m telling you, Xing Hong, making an enemy of the Master is making an enemy of me! If you don’t satisfy the Master, I’ll bring my guys to beat you every single day! Don’t forget, I know where you live. Cornering you would be way too easy!”

Xing Hong immediately wimped out. With a long, tearful face, he obediently answered, ”It’s because right after you left, someone found me and offered to buy a treasure from my stall for eight hundred thousand.”

”Eight hundred thousand?”

Hearing this, the eyes of every lackey in the bar turned green with envy.

Xing Hong had deliberately mentioned the price to incite these scumbags to move against Zhao Yuan. His thinking was simple: ’I got my ass kicked, so you’re not getting off easy either!’
