Divine Level Witch Doctor

Zhao Yangqiu nodded and explained slowly, ”According to my diagnosis, the most obvious pulse sign in this patient is that it is deficient and small. This indicates a weak spleen-yang, leading to issues like poor appetite with indigestion, diarrhea, and cold limbs! Hidden beneath this deficient and small pulse, there is also a deep and faint quality. The pulse is weak when touched lightly and can only be felt with heavy pressure. This indicates a deficiency of Qi and yang, with symptoms like a pale white complexion, chills, shortness of breath, and swelling of the face and feet! Furthermore, I’ve discovered that beyond being weak, deep, and faint, the pulse is also smooth and flowing, like pearls rolling on a platter. This points to a wiry and slippery pulse, suggesting problems like a cerebral hemorrhage...”

The expressions of Ma Guotao and the others changed drastically.

They were the ones who had invited the patient, so they knew his condition best.

It was precisely because this patient’s pulse had three different signs, which concealed and mixed with each other to make them incredibly difficult to fully detect, that they had invited him to participate in this Pulse Diagnosis competition!

Unexpectedly, such an extremely difficult triple-mixed pulse had failed to stump Zhao Yangqiu, who had unraveled it in just twelve or thirteen minutes.

”As expected of Qiankun Zhao Yangqiu. He’s truly incredible! To diagnose a triple-mixed pulse so clearly and so quickly—he’s really mastered the suspended silk pulse diagnosis technique to perfection!”

Even though they were opponents, Ma Guotao and the others couldn’t help but admire him sincerely.

What they never expected was that after hearing their words, Zhao Yangqiu would turn around, shake his head with a disdainful look, and say, ”A triple-mixed pulse? You’re mistaken! This patient’s pulse isn’t just a triple!”

”What?” Ma Guotao and the others were all startled.

This patient had been personally selected by them. Only after careful diagnosis had they confirmed it was a triple-mixed pulse. But now, Zhao Yangqiu was saying the patient’s pulse was more than just a triple!

How was that possible?!

Before Ma Guotao and the others could ask, Zhao Yangqiu revealed the fourth pulse sign: ”In addition to the three pulse signs I just mentioned, the patient’s chi pulse is weak, thin, and soft. This indicates a fourth pulse sign—a weak chi pulse! The patient should have symptoms like soreness in the lower back and knees, insomnia, and excessive dreaming!”

As soon as his words fell, the more impatient Yang Jingbo shook his head and said, ”Elder Zhao, you’ve made a mistake this time. This patient was jointly diagnosed by myself, Principal Ma, and several Traditional Chinese Medicine experts from our university’s affiliated hospital. We not only performed a detailed diagnosis but also discussed and analyzed it. We can say with certainty that he only has three pulse signs...”

Zhao Yangqiu waved his hand, cutting him off. ”You only diagnosed three pulse signs because your skills are lacking!”

Yang Jingbo almost choked on his words. He snorted coldly, ”Why must it be that our skills are lacking? Couldn’t it be that you’re the one who made a mistake?”

Ma Guotao reached out and pulled Yang Jingbo back, signaling him not to get into a pointless war of words. He turned to Li Heping, Qiao Zhixue, and the others and said, ”I’m sorry to trouble you all, but could you help us adjudicate? Does this patient have three pulse signs, or four?”

”Alright.” Li Heping, Qiao Zhixue, and the others agreed, stood up, and walked into the Curtain House. After taking the patient’s pulse one by one, they gathered together and discussed in low voices.

During this process, Zhao Yangqiu was full of confidence. He sat down on a chair brought to him by a junior from his clan, crossed his legs, and drank his tea, looking completely at ease.

Lin Xue gently tugged on the corner of Zhao Yuan’s shirt and whispered, ”Look, he isn’t worried at all. Could it be true, like he said? Does the patient really have four pulse signs?”

Zhao Yuan activated his Qi Observation Technique and glanced at the elderly patient inside the Curtain House. He saw that besides the stagnant Evil Qi in his head, heart, and spleen/stomach regions, there was also Evil Qi churning in the area of his kidneys, on both sides of his lower back!

Zhao Yangqiu’s diagnosis was correct. The patient indeed had a condition of kidney Qi deficiency!

Seeing this, Zhao Yuan couldn’t help but admire Zhao Yangqiu.

In the modern medical world, people who had cultivated the suspended silk pulse diagnosis technique to such a level were truly rare!

”Determining heaven and earth... a well-deserved reputation,” Zhao Yuan murmured in admiration.

”What do you mean?” Lin Xue asked, confused.

Zhao Yuan leaned close to Lin Xue’s ear and whispered, ”He’s right. This patient does have four pulse signs! Principal Ma and Director Yang misdiagnosed him.”

Lin Xue’s mouth fell open, her face a picture of disbelief.

It was at this moment that Li Heping, Qiao Zhixue, and the others finished their discussion.

”Brother Yang Qiu, your suspended silk pulse diagnosis technique is truly becoming more and more exquisite!” Li Heping gave Zhao Yangqiu a thumbs-up.

Hearing this, the faces of Ma Guotao and the others fell.

Sure enough, Li Heping then announced, ”After our diagnosis and discussion, this patient indeed has four pulse signs, not three! It’s just that the sign on the chi pulse is extremely hidden and difficult to distinguish. If we hadn’t been tipped off beforehand, we likely would have missed it as well.”

”What?” Yang Jingbo looked shocked.

However, he wouldn’t doubt the words of Li Heping and the others. Their skills and status were plain to see; cases of misdiagnosis were almost unheard of for them, and it was even more impossible that they would help Zhao Yangqiu cheat.

”I never thought... this patient actually has four pulse signs...” Ma Guotao smiled bitterly. ”We originally wanted to dig a pit for the Jinling Zhao Family, but we didn’t expect the pit to miss them and trap us instead.”

Zhao Yuan hadn’t even taken the stage yet, and West Hua Medical University had already lost face in front of the Great Gods of the medical world and the media reporters... This was truly an unfavorable start!

In contrast to the low morale at West Hua Medical University, the Jinling Zhao Family’s morale was soaring. They were all beaming with joy, as if they had already won this round of the medical skills competition.

In the online livestream, the bullet comments were flying across the screen.

”My eyes have been opened!”

”So this is the suspended silk pulse diagnosis technique? It’s too magical, too awesome!”

”Dude, the awesome one is clearly Zhao Yangqiu himself, okay!”

”I take back what I said before. There’s no way there’ll be any surprises in this Pulse Diagnosis competition. The winner can only be Zhao Yangqiu!”

With no one having high hopes for him, Zhao Yuan walked to the front of the Curtain House, preparing to begin the suspended silk pulse diagnosis.

”Student Zhao Yuan, just relax and do your best. Don’t feel any psychological pressure.” Ma Guotao quietly encouraged Zhao Yuan, worried that the recent incident would affect his performance.

Zhao Yuan smiled and said, ”Principal Ma, don’t worry. I’m not feeling any pressure.”

When these words reached the ears of the Jinling Zhao Clan Members, they misinterpreted them, thinking he had already lost his nerve and given up on the competition.

Zhao Yangqiu, holding his teacup, advised him in a ’profound and heartfelt’ tone, ”Young man, I suggest you just concede defeat. It’s better than pretending to know what you’re doing and making a fool of yourself.”

Zhao Yuan turned back and smiled at him. ”Sorry, but the words ’concede defeat’ aren’t in my dictionary.”
