Divine Level Witch Doctor

A little over ten minutes later, Zhao Yuan and his friends walked into a nearby pharmacy to buy emetics. Meanwhile, Xing Hong had arrived in the area, leading a group of men.

Xing Hong found the man who had been keeping watch for him and asked, ”Haozi, where are those little bastards?”

Haozi pointed to the pharmacy across the street and replied, ”They just went into the pharmacy.”

Then he broke into a grin, his expression as lecherous as it could possibly be. ”I saw four guys and four girls,” he said with a look of envy. ”Don’t tell me they’re buying condoms for some kind of orgy? I’ve heard kids these days are wild and crazy, but I never thought I’d see it firsthand. Man, why didn’t I ever run into something this good when I was young? I’m so damn jealous!”

”Cut the fucking crap.” Xing Hong smacked Haozi on the back of the head, then turned around. With an obsequious smile, he said to a man standing behind him, ”Brother Tian, they’re in the pharmacy. I’ll point them out to you when they come out. You have to help me get my stuff back.”

Only then did Haozi notice that there were people standing behind Xing Hong. And not just one—there were over twenty of them.

The man in the lead was a burly man in his thirties.

Haozi recognized them in a single glance. They were the local thugs from around the antique market. They often extorted the market’s vendors and would sometimes help unscrupulous dealers deal with customers who came back demanding justice after being scammed.

In short, as long as you paid them, they wouldn’t even blink at committing a crime.

Haozi’s jaw dropped. ’How did Old Xing get this bunch involved? What is he planning to do?’

Brother Tian patted Xing Hong’s shoulder and said with a laugh, ”Don’t worry. The boys took your money, so we’ll definitely get the job done for you!”

Xing Hong nodded and smiled obsequiously. ”Yes, yes, with you and your men on the case, Brother Tian, there’s no way it’ll be a problem!”

As they were speaking, Zhao Yuan and his friends walked out of the pharmacy.

Xing Hong quickly pointed. ”Brother Tian, that’s them! That group of guys and girls.”

Brother Tian’s eyes lit up, and a lewd smile spread across his face. ”Well, well, look at these pretty little things. Each one is more gorgeous and delicate than the last.” With a wave of his hand, he said to his underlings, ”Let’s go. We’ll go say hello to the beauties.”

Afraid that Brother Tian would forget all about his business at the sight of the women, Xing Hong quickly reminded him, ”Brother Tian, my thing...”

Brother Tian shot him an annoyed glare and replied, ”I’ll handle it for you. Are you a man or not? Why are you nagging like an old woman?”

Even though he was annoyed, Xing Hong had to swallow his pride. He forced a smile. ”My mistake, my mistake...”

Brother Tian led his men across the road and headed toward Zhao Yuan.

Xing Hong turned and ducked into a nearby alley, not wanting Zhao Yuan’s group to spot him.

Haozi followed him and asked curiously, ”Old Xing, that batch of goods was only worth about ten thousand yuan, right? The guy gave you ten thousand. So you didn’t make a profit, but you didn’t lose anything either. Why’d you go find a scumbag like Tian? Even if they manage to snatch the stuff back for you, it won’t be enough to cover their fee, will it? They charge a pretty penny!”

Xing Hong shot him a look of contempt. ”What the hell do you know? There was a treasure in that batch. That one piece alone is worth way more than a few tens of thousands of yuan!”

Haozi’s mouth fell open in astonishment. ”For real? There was a treasure in your batch? Which one? How much is it worth?”

”You want to know?” Xing Hong asked.

Haozi nodded repeatedly.

”I’ll tell you after I get the goods back.” Xing Hong kept him in suspense, then asked, ”Got a smoke?”

”Yeah, yeah.” Haozi took out a pack of cigarettes, handed one to Xing Hong, and lit it for him before asking, ”Old Xing, there’s something I don’t get. If you knew there was a treasure in that batch, how could you bear to sell it for just ten thousand yuan?”

The question made Xing Hong flush with shame and anger. He jutted out his chin and huffed, ”Because I felt like it. Is it any of your business?”

’Who’s to blame but me for not knowing there was a valuable treasure in that batch! If I had known, even if that kid was strong enough to crush bricks with his foot, I never would have sold the whole lot for a mere ten thousand yuan!’

It turned out that not long after Zhao Yuan and his friends had left, just as Xing Hong was about to pack up his stall and go home, two men had approached him.

He had seen one of them before. The man had been at his stall a couple of days prior, looking at his wares and asking a ton of questions, nearly annoying him to death. The other man was much younger, probably in his twenties, but his status was clearly higher than the older man’s.

After they arrived, the men said they wanted to buy a copper ball from his stall. They immediately offered five hundred thousand yuan!

Five hundred thousand!

At that moment, Xing Hong’s guts turned green with regret.

He had never imagined that a copper ball from his stall could be so valuable! Looking back, he recalled using it as a tool countless times. It was a criminal waste of a treasure.

Xing Hong tentatively countered with a price of eight hundred thousand, but to his surprise, the other party agreed without the slightest hesitation. This made him regret it even more.

An eight-hundred-thousand-yuan treasure, sold as part of a package deal for just ten thousand yuan...

This was a fucking colossal loss!

The more he thought about it, the more unwilling he was to accept it, so Xing Hong decided to take a risk. He found Brother Tian and his gang of thugs, hoping to rely on them to get the copper ball back. In his mind, no matter how good a fighter Zhao Yuan was, there was no way he could beat more than twenty vicious thugs, right? At the same time, he was afraid of Zhao Yuan’s retaliation afterward, which was why he was hiding in the alley, waiting for Brother Tian’s group to bring the treasure to him.

While Xing Hong and Haozi were smoking and chatting, Brother Tian and his gang had reached Zhao Yuan’s group and surrounded them.

The four young men immediately moved to shield the young women behind them, asking in a sharp tone, ”Who are you people? What do you want?”

Brother Tian said with a grin, ”Nothing much. We just heard you bought some things at the antique market. Me and the boys wanted to take a look and broaden our horizons.”

A lackey beside him shouted threateningly, ”Hurry up and take out the stuff you bought! Stop fucking dawdling, or we’ll beat you to death!”

Brother Tian’s face fell. He turned and snapped at his underling, ”Shut up! Why are you yelling so loud? Can’t you see you’re scaring the pretty ladies? Have some class, will you?” Then he put on a smile again and said to Lin Xue and the others, ”Don’t be scared, little sisters. Big brother is a good guy, hehehe...”

With that ferocious face and lewd smile, there was no way anyone would think he was a good person. The nerve of him to praise himself.

Wang Rongfeng raised an eyebrow. ”In broad daylight, in front of everyone? You’re trying to rob us?”

”Robbery? No, no, no. We don’t do anything illegal.” Brother Tian shook his head. ”We just want to buy your things. As for the price... how about ten yuan! If we give you money, it’s a transaction, not a robbery, see?”

”Brother Tian’s right! How is it robbery if we pay?”

”Brother Tian is so smart!”

”The boss’s IQ is just higher than ours!”

The underlings immediately started brown-nosing.

Brother Tian basked in it for a moment before waving for them to stop. He then looked at Zhao Yuan’s group and said, ”Don’t just stand there gawking. Hurry up and hand over your stuff. If you won’t, then we’ll just have to help ourselves!”

Zhao Yuan suddenly asked, ”Are you sick in the head?”

Everyone was stunned. A dead silence fell over the scene.

Brother Tian’s face instantly darkened to a terrifying degree.
