Divine Level Witch Doctor

”You’ve got a lot of nerve, cursing Brother Tian! I’ll beat you to death!”

Their boss had been insulted, and his underlings flew into a rage. Two of them immediately jumped out, cursing and swearing, ready to teach Zhao Yuan a lesson.

Zhao Yuan didn’t even glance at the two men. He looked at Brother Tian and said, ”Is that sweat running down your crotch right now, or is it blood? Over the past few months, have you been experiencing heart palpitations and chest pain every night? And has it been getting worse?”

Brother Tian’s expression changed drastically again. The gloominess was gone, replaced by sheer terror.

But his henchmen didn’t notice the change in his expression. Several more of them roared and charged at Zhao Yuan. ”Fuck, you bastard! You dare curse our boss!”

However, before the henchmen could reach Zhao Yuan, a furious roar erupted from Brother Tian’s mouth. ”Stop! All of you, fucking stop!”

The henchmen stopped in unison.

One of them turned back and asked in confusion, ”Boss, what’s wrong?”

With Brother Tian’s temper, anyone who dared to curse him would have been immediately slapped across the face. But now, this kid had insulted and cursed him, yet not only was he not angry, he was even stopping them from showing their loyalty and proving their worth?

Another henchman seized the opportunity to suck up. ”Brother Tian, don’t worry. We promise to do a clean job of it. We’ll beat this kid until he’s on his knees, calling you ’Daddy’ and begging for forgiveness...”

Before he could finish, a hand came whistling through the air and slapped him hard across the face. The blow made him see stars, and his vision swam with black spots.

”Brother Tian, why’d you hit me?” The henchman touched his rapidly swelling face, a look of disbelief on it. He couldn’t for the life of him figure it out. There was nothing wrong with his ass-kissing, so how had it backfired so spectacularly?

Brother Tian didn’t answer his question, only snarled, ”Shut up! If you don’t talk, no one will think you’re a mute!”

He then whipped his head around to stare at Zhao Yuan, his tone urgent as he asked, ”How do you know about these ailments of mine?”

It turned out that Zhao Yuan’s words weren’t a curse at all, but an uncannily accurate diagnosis of his condition.

Six months ago, for reasons unknown, Brother Tian had suddenly noticed something strange happening to his body. He would frequently break out in a reddish, foul-smelling sweat—like blood—from his armpits, genitals, and other areas.

To treat this strange illness, he had visited numerous hospitals and consulted many famous doctors. Although he learned the condition was called hematidrosis, and he tried various treatments, nothing had any effect.

Later, he figured that although he was sweating blood, it didn’t seem to be affecting his health, so he stopped bothering with treatment.

Then, one night two months ago, he suddenly felt a tightness in his chest and a pang of pain. It wasn’t severe at the time and passed quickly. But from that day on, the chest tightness and pain would return late every night, lasting longer and growing more intense each time.

For this, he once again went to numerous hospitals and underwent countless examinations. But all the reports showed that his heart and lungs were healthy. Aside from being slightly malnourished, there was nothing else wrong with his body. A few doctors suspected his chest tightness and pain were psychological, which made him so angry he nearly trashed their clinics.

But only Brother Tian himself knew about these symptoms. Even his most trusted confidants were completely in the dark!

That’s why he was so utterly shocked that Zhao Yuan had laid out his condition in a single breath.

”I could see it,” Zhao Yuan replied. ”And I can also see that you don’t have long to live.”

One of the henchmen, not having learned from his companion’s lesson, opened his mouth to curse, ”You motherfu—”

”Shut up! You have no right to speak here!” Brother Tian exploded with rage, delivering another vicious slap across the man’s face. The guy stumbled back and clutched the other one who’d been hit, and they both started to wail. Then he asked Zhao Yuan, ”Why do you say I don’t have long to live?”

”Have one of your men press these two spots on your back for you. Make sure they find the right ones.” Zhao Yuan gestured for Liu Zhu to turn around, then pointed to the Ganshu and Pishu acupoints on his back.

Brother Tian quickly called a henchman over to copy the action, while Zhao Yuan directed him from afar. ”Wrong. A little higher. Yes, that’s the height. Now a bit more to the side... too far, too far...”

The henchman, sweating bullets from the pressure, finally located the Ganshu and Pishu points and pressed down hard.

”AHHH—”

Brother Tian let out a bloodcurdling scream. Cold sweat instantly beaded on his forehead, and he felt all the strength drain from his body in an instant. With a THUD, he collapsed to his knees.

This scene left not only Brother Tian’s gang of henchmen dumbfounded, but also stunned the crowd of onlookers who had gathered around.

Although Liu Zhu and the others were also surprised, they remained calm enough. After all, they had witnessed firsthand Zhao Yuan single-handedly defeat the Jinling Zhao Family, so they had immense confidence in his medical skills.

Yang Zi even teased, ”Well now, kneeling in the middle of the street. I didn’t think you had such good manners.”

Brother Tian’s face was contorted in agony. He wanted to speak but couldn’t make a sound, so he could only roar internally: ’Good manners my ass! I don’t want to be kneeling! It just hurts so much I don’t have the strength to stand, okay!’

Across the street, in a small alley, Xing Hong couldn’t see what was happening, but he heard Brother Tian’s wretched scream.

He mistakenly thought the scream came from Zhao Yuan’s group and chuckled darkly. ”Kid, you dare to steal a treasure from your Master Xing? You really don’t know what’s good for you!” He took a deep drag from his cigarette and said with satisfaction, ”I believe my treasure will be returned to me shortly! Wonderful, truly wonderful!”

Brother Tian knelt on the ground, gasping for breath. After a while, he finally recovered enough to get up and ask, ”What just happened?”

His voice held a noticeable tremor. It was clear he now believed Zhao Yuan’s words and thought he had a serious illness and didn’t have long to live.

Zhao Yuan answered, ”The blood sweat from your armpits and crotch was because of problems with your liver and spleen. The liver governs the blood and the spleen stores it. When they malfunction, blood essence overflows from the vessels, creating blood sweat. Blood is formed from the body’s essence. Its prolonged loss depletes your Yin and drains your Qi, leaving your heart unnourished. That’s what causes your symptoms of chest tightness and pain. If I’m not mistaken, you also fight a lot, drink heavily, and are addicted to women, right? All of this has accelerated the deterioration of your condition. Right now, your heart, liver, and spleen are all severely diseased. If you don’t get treatment, you’ll drop dead on the street in ten to fifteen days, tops!”

”This... this...”

Brother Tian’s jaw dropped. He wanted to disbelieve it, but Zhao Yuan had just described his condition with unnerving accuracy. But to believe it... it wasn’t easy for anyone to accept they only had ten to fifteen days left to live.

”Master, save me!”

With another THUD, Brother Tian fell to his knees once more.

This time was different from before. He knelt willingly.

Zhao Yuan didn’t agree. Instead, he asked in a cold voice, ”And why should I save you?”
