Divine Level Witch Doctor

Amidst a deafening crash, the front of the Audi sedan was instantly smashed to pieces, sending fragments flying everywhere.

Under the powerful impact, the Audi spun around, and its trunk slammed into the semi-truck, getting demolished as well.

In just a few seconds, the perfectly fine Audi sedan had lost its front and back, leaving only the passenger cabin.

Zhao Yuan had been on guard for an accident ever since the White Cat’s strange reaction. The instant the semi-truck hit, he ducked down, protecting not only himself but Ma Guotao as well.

After the car came to a stop, Zhao Yuan sat up and asked, ”Principal Ma, are you okay?”

”I’m okay,” Ma Guotao replied, his voice trembling. The brush with death had clearly terrified him. ”Zhao Yuan, are you hurt? Thank you so much for saving my life just now.”

Terrified as he was, Ma Guotao remembered what had just happened with perfect clarity. At the moment of impact, if Zhao Yuan hadn’t shielded him, he would have been severely injured, if not killed.

”I’m fine,” Zhao Yuan replied, then immediately asked the driver, ”Sir, how are you?”

The driver wasn’t as lucky as the other two. He cried out in pain, his voice choked with sobs. ”I can’t move my leg! I don’t know if it’s broken.”

Zhao Yuan leaned over to look. The front of the car had been crushed, twisting the driver’s cabin out of shape. The driver’s leg was likely pinned. Zhao Yuan couldn’t tell if it was broken, but he guessed it wasn’t a serious injury.

He breathed a sigh of relief, but his heart was still pounding with fear.

’If the White Cat hadn’t startled our driver into braking just now, that semi-truck would have T-boned us! In that situation, even with my Cultivation at the Marrow Cleansing Realm, there’s no way my body could have withstood a speeding truck. The only outcome would have been getting ground into a pulp!’

As the fear subsided, a question surfaced in Zhao Yuan’s mind: ’Was this really an accident?’

At that moment, the semi-truck, far from stopping after hitting the Audi, actually accelerated to flee the scene! As it did, a head poked out from the cab, glancing back at the crash site at the intersection.

The truck driver couldn’t see inside the Audi, but judging from the wreckage at the scene and the mangled state of the car, he came to a single conclusion: the people inside were definitely all dead.

This conclusion didn’t cause the truck driver to panic. On the contrary, a cold, triumphant smirk spread across his lips.

”MEOW! MEOW! MEOW!”

Inside the Audi, the White Cat scrambled out from its hiding place, pressing against the window and meowing incessantly.

When the impact had occurred, the White Cat had decisively taken refuge on the driver, escaping completely unharmed.

Zhao Yuan had already developed a rapport with the White Cat. Though he couldn’t understand its cries, he knew it was trying to warn him. He quickly turned to look in the direction it was facing and immediately saw the semi-truck speeding away in the distance.

’Trying to run?’

Zhao Yuan raised an eyebrow.

’If this crash were truly an accident, the truck driver shouldn’t be running. Fleeing the scene is a serious crime; staying and cooperating with the police is the correct choice.’

’The driver’s choice to flee proves there’s something fishy about this crash!’

’I can’t let him get away, no matter what!’

Zhao Yuan made up his mind in an instant. He tried to open the car door to give chase, but it was warped from the impact and wouldn’t budge. That didn’t stop him. He lifted his foot and, with a powerful kick, CRASH!—he shattered the Audi’s window. Bracing his hands on the front and rear seats, he launched himself out of the window like an arrow from a bow, WHOOSH, and took off after the fleeing semi-truck.

Normally, no one could outrun a vehicle on foot, not even Zhao Yuan. But with a Shrinking Earth Talisman, it was a different story.

Empowered by the Shrinking Earth Talisman, Zhao Yuan was like a sprinting cheetah, rapidly closing in on the fleeing semi-truck.

”Huh?”

The truck driver saw this scene in his rearview mirror, and the smile instantly vanished from his face.

’The kid’s not dead? Damn it, the prize I had in the bag got away… Huh? Wait, how is he so fast?!’

The truck driver was astonished to find that Zhao Yuan, running on his own two feet, was actually faster than his speeding semi-truck!

’What the hell, is this guy even human?’

The truck driver began to panic. He slammed his foot on the accelerator, trying to speed up and shake Zhao Yuan!

But he failed to shake Zhao Yuan. In fact, Zhao Yuan closed the distance and caught up to the truck!

Taking a deep breath, Zhao Yuan leaped through the air and landed on the side of the truck like an agile monkey. One hand desperately gripped the side mirror while the other held onto the door handle.

”Fuck!”

The truck driver couldn’t believe Zhao Yuan had actually managed to catch him and couldn’t help but curse loudly. Seeing an intersection up ahead, he floored the accelerator and wrenched the steering wheel, hoping the force of a sharp turn would throw Zhao Yuan off the truck.

Unfortunately for him, he had underestimated Zhao Yuan’s abilities.

Zhao Yuan’s hands seemed to be rooted to the truck, gripping the mirror and door handle tightly. With a few fluid motions, his body dissipated most of the centrifugal force. A closer look would reveal that his movements resembled a Flood Dragon soaring through a sea of clouds!

This was the Cyan Dragon Form from the Four Saints Technique!

”Damn it!”

The driver glanced at Zhao Yuan, who was clinging to the truck like a maggot to a corpse. Another vicious plan hatched in his mind. He wrenched the wheel, trying to sideswipe an oncoming car and scrape Zhao Yuan off—or better yet, crush him to death!

Before his scheme could succeed, Zhao Yuan freed the hand gripping the mirror, shattered the window with a single punch, and seized the truck driver by the neck.

”Stop the truck! Or I’ll snap your neck!” Zhao Yuan shouted coldly.

An intense wave of Killing Qi made the driver shudder. At the same time, a sharp pain shot through his throat, followed by an overwhelming feeling of suffocation. He realized in that moment that if he didn’t obey, Zhao Yuan would actually snap his neck.

The truck driver slammed his foot on the brake.

The truck didn’t stop immediately; its speed and weight caused it to screech forward for another few dozen meters before finally coming to a halt, leaving two long, black skid marks on the road.

Zhao Yuan freed his other hand, reached inside to open the door, then dragged the driver out of the cab and threw him to the ground.

”What are you doing? Help! Murder!” the truck driver yelled, playing the victim.

Zhao Yuan ignored his shouts and demanded harshly, ”Speak. Who sent you to kill me?”
